Simple enough question, i'm just curious to see what the general population tends to run.Purely out of curiosity, or perhaps to also help point out what archetypes feel less useful, and where challenge could be upped so those members feel like they could shine more.

Or what have you seen over-represented or under-represented at your tables?

Guess i'll take first swing:
Face (Negociation/Leadership), MysAd Shaman. Basically the "I'll do any job we need well enough, but if we have some dedicated folks with us, i'll make sure they do theirs tremedously better than usual instead"-concept
Maybe, just maybe, concrete and Plasteel are MEANT to armor our planet, and not harm it, omae. Hydroponics can nourish our needy. And i assure you nuclear energy's been involved in getting you that fancy 'ware, chummer. Our mistake? Trading Wisdom for Greed. - Dögan "Babyface" Kross

...currently am playing

1, A Gunslinger adept with 1 Essence/Magic burned out for bio/geneware. (my primary character)

2.  A Demolitions Expert and  former freedom fighter (sort of my "Pink Mohawk" character as she's rather eccentric).

Oddly, we seem to have an abundance of snipers for some reason. Last week, on one table alone there were two.

Technos seem to be the least played, probably because Deckers can do more "out of the box" and they tend to not fare very well in the meat world when the lead and mana start flying.

Primary is a Cyber-mage that seems to have an addiction to getting new ware, but she refuses to burn out.

Secondary is a former Swat Dwarf

One I'm working on now is a Troll Cyber Adept with a love of Karaoke.

The two I had were a Decker/Rigger and a Mage/Face. Unfortunately I've had severe computer problems the last couple of days, culminating in a complete loss of all data on that drive. I may be able to recover it, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that; previous experience with Microsoft products has taught me to not be optimistic. Along with all the other data I lost, I lost the copy of Hero Lab and thus the Missions characters I had made.

I could rebuild both of them from the posts I made in the Character Creation forum here, as well as the Missions sheets I have, but I am considering just starting from scratch and going with the Technomancer/Reporter (Face) I posted here recently. That one will eventually branch out into Rigger as well (after a couple of submersions).

I have something like 1-2 dozen characters, so I'm just going to list the ones I play regularly. Otherwise I'd be writing a dissertation instead of working on my finals.

1) Sniper/Face - I like to call her a Face Sniper. She has 20 dice in Negotiation and Con as well as in Longarms (9 Ranks!). Other social skills are high, just not as specialized. Typically rolls with a Barrett 122, but has a whole arsenal in her Americar's smuggling compartment if she needs to change it up. Elf.

2) Face/Cyber-Adept - This started with me just playing with an idea when I was bored. They have four cyberlimbs (2 arms, 2 legs), Cyber Singularity Seeker and Redliner, specializes in Swords and Assault Rifles, and still has 16-18 dice for Negotiation/Con. Human.

Faces and Deckers (Techno or Mundane) come in at the lowest percentage at the shop where I play, so I try to make each character I make fit into one of those roles. I just haven't found a Decker that really called to me yet, so that's still floating around.

...one of our snipers named  "Charlie" is also a face (and has a Barrett 122).  Had a face character myself but retired her as she was pretty ineffective when the lead started flying. It basically came down to negotiate the deal then go to a coffee shop and let the rest of the characters do their thing.

A mundane spy/Jack of All Trades guy.  In terms of roles, generally it breaks down to sniper/face, but he's got a ton of secondary abilities--his loadouts have gotten pretty complex.  Going into Missions, my golden rule as "Don't Be Bored," which meant I wanted try to always have some way to contribute to whatever was going on at the table.  I didn't want to be the guy stacking is dice out of boredom.  I also wanted to make a guy who was fun to play with--Missions is, among other things, an outreach program for new players and I want the game to attract new players.  My character is a fantastic teamwork/Leadership guy who can help make other people better at whatever it is they find interesting.  He's rarely the most optimized guy at the table, but he's a blast to play.

I also have a ton of secondary characters if I end up at running something for the second time.  I can pretty much fill whatever archetype the table needs, which is pretty often a decker.

...that's pretty much the same with my demolitionist. character.  as she's also good on supporting others in teamwork efforts. Her highest DP is Demolitions (Commercial Explosives), but she also has other useful skills like Disguise, Performance and Con.

She is also quite a trip to play as well since she has the Juryrigging quality (never know what kind of oddball one shot item she'll whip up) and expresses herself like a young girl..

I've been playing my ork street sam for the past year (178 TKE right now), but also made a decker who I've played for a single mission so far.  I feel like I need to play different characters to learn the other aspects (rules) of the game.

I only have 9 missions (61 TKE) completed with my character since the campaign fell apart & hasn't started up again

I played an Elf Combat Shaman (Mystic Adept) that was decent as a Face eventually, but not great.

He did 2 things really well.  Dodge & Negotiate    (Started with pools of 14 & 18 respectively & by the end was up to 23 & 30)

His other main skills were in Automatics, Spellcasting, Summoning, & Binding.
Each of which he was solid in with 12+ dice but not spectacular.

He didn't have the dice pools of some of our team specialists (Tank, Pistoleer, Nuker) or the diversity of our generalist, but he was very efficient in the areas he was trained in & could support or fill in for all but the Decker in a pinch.

My main is a mundane Combat Specialist / Generalist. He's a disgruntled Japanese national who is in the top 1% of martial artists in the world and holds a record of 4-1 against Matt Wrath in the cages.  Unknown to him, he was secretly enhanced bio-genetically by his family back in Japan when they found out he was in a near fatal commercial flight accident and landed in the hospital in a coma. He has no idea that he has beta grade bioware and geneware in his body.

My alternate is a Techno Rigger who takes advantage of his connection to the Resonance and his "friends" to work the matrix and provide fire support for his teammates.

A 3rd alternate is a typical Drone Rigger who will take full advantage of the Rigger 5 rules when they become mission legal.

I was quite happily surprised to see that link, up until the point where I had the price tag induced heart attack! That's as much money as I have spent on my newest machine, including taxes and upgrading to a 650w power supply!  :o

Really though, like I stated in my original post, I can always rebuild the previous character if I really wanted to; I do have all the actual handouts, Missions rewards sheets, and calendars showing my expenditures. It's just that I now have the the necessary kick in the pants to drop the others and get around to changing to the Technomancer (and pick up Rigging later). I needed to redo the Decker/Rigger I had anyway, as I wasn't understanding the RCC and autosoft rules as well as I thought I did, and I was going to need to redo purchases anyway.
