Sooo, Paragons. Love them. The fact that they are now less fixed than Mentor Spirits makes room for more interesting Pros and Cons. The sample list in Kill Code is a little bit short in comparison to 4th Edition, but luckily, coming up with new ones is as easy as googling some Hacker/Internet lingo and brainstorming some effects around it  ;D

As with my post about streams, the following list is a work in Progress. Criticism and ideas are appreciated ;)

Idoru
For starters, a Paragon from 4th Edition i dearly missed. Idoru is the Paragon of Matrix Fame and PR. Her followers are often influencers, idols, actors, singers or a mix of it.
Advantage: +1 dice pool bonus on Tests using the Acting Skill group, +2 dice pool bonus and +1 limit bonus for using the Edit File Action to alter your appearance or information related to yourself.
Disadvantage: Idoru is all about being visible. While no strangers to deceptive tactics, her followers are feeling uncomfortable when having their persona running silent. Increase the negative dice pool modifier for running silent to -3.
To gain Idorus favor, you have to be at least somewhat famous and active on social media and constantly maintain your fame. Favor is lost when you allow yourself to fade into obscurity or when you get involved in a scandal thatīs too big to handle (note that a little controlled drama to stir up the crowd is actually encouraged). Idoru can be very fickle in that regard: One day, youīre it and the next day, youīre not. Luckily, it can go the other way around as well: Once you regain your Fame, she will happily slap you on the back like she never ditched you in the first place.
Note: This one might be a cool addition for the upcoming "swag" sourcebook ;)

Hands-On
You know these old-fashioned folks who keep on complaining about the new wireless Matrix and how everything was better in the old times where you actually had to touch things to interact with them? How everything was more close and personal to you, how conveniently everything was designed for the metahuman touch, how smooth the flat surfaces of your next-gen smartphone felt? Hands-On is the embodiement of that sentiment. His followers have a very "touchy" approach to the Matrix, not uncommonly to a point resembling objectophila. Most Technomancers tend to be weirded out by Hands-On, but his favor surely grants some unique perks.
Advantage: Gain the Skinlink Echo. If you already have the Echo, you get a +1 dice pool bonus and +1 limit bonus for interacting with devices you are connected to via Skinlink. And yes, this includes Guns  ;)
Disadvantage: -1 dice pool modificator for remotely interacting with devices, including all matrix actions on devices you donīt touch.
Favor is lost when you start to (re-)embrace the wireless lifestyle and get "out of touch" with the Matrix. Hands-On is generally pretty laid-back and welcoming to new disciples as well as to lost sheeps who want to get back "in touch" with the physical reality of the Matrix.

Copypasta
For Copypasta, the ease of sharing and multiplicating knowledge and content is the single most important trait of the Matrix, and she encourages her followers to use it to the fullest - both legally and illegally. Copypasta has a somewhat questionable stance on the values of Metahuman creativity, though: To her and her followers, everything new is just a pastiche of old ideas and concepts. She also doesnīt really give a damn about copyrights and intellectual properties.
Advantage: +2 dice pool bonus and +1 limit bonus for using the Edit File Action to Copy Files. When using the Editor Complex Form to Copy a file, reduce the Fading value by 1 (to a Minimum of 2).
Disadvantage: When trying to create something that is actually new and not some kind of "remix" of other content (both in the Matrix or in real life), Copypasters suffer a -2 dice pool modifier on the relevant tests. At the Gamemasters discretion, this may also apply to attempts to solve "unprecedented" problems.
Favor is lost when the Techomancer passes too many opportunities to copy usefull Data.

The Man in the Middle
The personification of the popular hacking tactic of the same name, the Man in the Middle is a shady and ominous shapeshifter that dwells in masquerade and deception. He has a strong penchant for convoluted and complex plans using mutliple disguises, decoys and deceptions. He also loves to keep the upper hand in  information warfare by tapping in on security-relevant conversations.
Advantage: +2 Dice Pool bonus and a +1 Limit Bonus when using the Matrix Actions Masquerade and Snoop, as well as the manipulation of intercepted communication. Side Note: I realized just now that the official 5E rules donīt really cover the last part, unlike 4E  ::) I will cover this to greater detail in another post. The short version of my proposal: If you have a Mark on all participants of a conversation/feed you snooped into, you can manipulate the datastream just like a (already marked) File. Net Hits determine the quality of this manipulation.
Disadvantage: The Man in the Middle hates it to be out in the open. His followers recieve a -1 Dice Pool modifier both for Matrix Actions and Matrix Defense test against targets that have spotted them in the Matrix, as long as they donīt employ some other means of deception, like a successfull Masquerade or a similar trick.
Favor is lost when the Techomancer relies on either pure luck or direct confrontation on a run, instead of carefull information gathering and planning.

Sesame
Named after the famous phrase from "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves", Sesame is the chosen Paragon of many burglars and infiltrators in the Technomancer community. Notoriously curious - sometimes too curious for their own good - followers of Sesame canīt stand the notion of an "unpenetrable System" and are always tempted to break the lock and have a peak, both in the Matrix and in real life. While adept at circumventing passive security measures, they tend to lose their moxie when their cover is blown. Getting in is one thing, but getting out ...
Advantage: +2 dice pool bonus and +1 limit to Matrix Test to either put a Mark on or open a Maglock, as well as on non-Matrix Tests for the Procedures to pick or fool other other locking systems, like Keylocks, Safes, Keypads and even Biometric Locks.
Disadvantage: When encountering unexpected opposition (f.i. guards, IC, Security Spiders) while infiltrating a secure area (including hosts), treat this as having the Combat Paralysis Quality. If you already have this quality, the effect is extended for an additional combat round. Note that this is not triggered when you have the jump on your enemies, though.
Favor is lost when you pass up too many opportunities to have a peak inside "juice" Safes, Vaults and other Secure Locations or Containers.

Bugzzz
The Embodiement of the myriads of little programming fuckups crawling behind the clean facade of the Matrix. They are often suspected to be a dissonant Paragon, as many followers of Bugz have somewhat dissonant leanings. Note: Unlike most other Paragons, Bugz are usually not refered to as a single entity, but in plural.
Advantage: Every Icon you have at least one Mark on suffers from the Gremlins Quality (rating 1), as well as anyone interacting with an an Icon marked by you. If the affected Person already suffers from this Quality (or a similar effect), the number of rolled ones needed for a glitch is further decreased by 1.
Disadvantage: Your Advantage is your disadvantage as well: The Effect also applies to you and the devices and Icons you own.
Favor is lost when you start to fix glitchy gear and software.

Work in Progress:

Noize
Noise reduction. However, noise from poor connections is made worse.

Evil Maid
Bonus to RL Stealth tests and for hacking things in close proximity (Resonance Meters?), penalties for hacking while engaged in combat

Jailbreaker
Bonus to Ownership resets and to Hardware Tests / Modifikation Tests in general.

LULZ
A Paragon revolving around Matrix "Pranks". Not interely sure what the effects might be...

Phish
Paragon of Scamming (Bonus to Con tests?)

Fatman
Adept at installing Databombs. And real ones.

Zero-Day
Bonus for first-attempt hacks?

The Dox
Believed to be the same entity as the one that can be found in the Foundation, and suspected to be dissonant or otherwise malevolent in nature. Bonus on Data Searches to find incriminating information. No apparent disadvantage - until you try to cut ties with it...

Trojan
+2 dice pool bonus and +1 limit to Matrix Test to either put a Mark on a Host you havenīt Marked yet.

Siren
Paragon of Escapism and Matrix Addiction.
+1 Data Processing while in VR, Negative dice pool Modifier when disconnected from the Matrix.

Lurker
Reduces the Penalty for Running Silent to -1, but you also suffer a -1 Modifier against Targets that have spotted you (offense and defense).

Gnoll
Paragon of Basement-Hackers. Bonus for hacking out of its "Cave", Penalties when going out in the open.

Vanilla
The "civilian" Paragon. Bonus to Legal Actions, Penalties for Illegal Actions. Her followers are rarely found in the Shadows, but not every Technomancer wants to be a hacker.
