Title: Brilliant Heuristics
Post by: Triskavanski on <09-16-18/1210:13>
So this quality haves the time of data processing matrix tasks.

In the core rule books you've got the following matrix actions

DATA PROCESSING TyPE
Change Icon Simple
Control Device* Variable
Edit File Complex
Enter/Exit Host Complex
Grid Hop Complex
Invite Mark Simple
Jump Into Rigged Device Complex
Matrix Perception Complex
Matrix Search Special
Reboot Device Complex
Send Message Simple
Switch Interface Mode Simple
Trace Icon Complex

So what exactly is actually halved? Cause the only one that takes any length of time beyond a complex action is Matrix Searched.

If things are halved.. would that mean that Complex actions become simple, and simple become free? Or is it really only talking about Matrix Searches?

Searches and Traces foremost. But yeah, you could argue that a complex action becomes a simple action and you can send two messages with a simple action.

Edit: Actually it makes Trackback somewhat useable (DT p.179)

data search is the one that matter iirc.

Yeah if it could make complex actions into simple..

There are a few I'd use it for. Like Matrix Pereception, being able to spot icons faster would make it really helpful.

Trace Icon..

But I think the biggest one I'd use it for is Control Device

Jump in as a simple is actually really strong. It means jump in and shoot is now possible.
Can you jump in form being in? So jump one drone to the next?

I’m pretty sure you need to jump out before you can jump into the next drone.

RCCs can let you do it.

This multi-connection also lets you jump from one slaved drone to another without first jumping out of the drone you’re leaving.
