Title: Submersion time period
Post by: 忍 on <09-15-18/0200:07>
Does Missions have a time period for submersion?

I assume you mean downtime activity?

The books are at best extremely vague about how long submersion takes. Personally, I would love at least some sort of guideline for that. Was hoping Kill Code would have an answer for that, but I haven't had a chance to sift through it myself yet.

But yeah, there should probably be an answer at least for Missions about how long it takes.

It's the equivalent of initiation for mages, so I always assumed it took the same amount of time.

Yeah... the problem with that is that initiation is based on a Arcana test, and there isn't an equivalent of that for technomancers.

You use Software + Intuition [Mental] to determine how long it takes to learn new complex forms.

That's pretty similar.

Core says:
Submersion is measured in grades, beginning with
Grade 1 and increasing. Each grade has a Karma cost
equal to 10 x (Grade x 3) Karma. Your Submersion grade
can’t exceed your Resonance attribute. If your Resonance
is ever reduced below your Submersion grade,
your grade is reduced (no refunds, but you can buy it
back if you can bring your Resonance back up).

As I recall that cost has been errated to 10+(grade x3) karma.
So as far as I can tell that means as soon as you pay the cost it's done.
No roll required.
