Have your 'customer' fall asleep quickly (maybe with the aid of some 'herbs') and then you can slip out quickly before he wakes up. :)

My Vory superiors have been supportive in the past and I would think they will support me going to Lagos when I tell them.  After all, I am not a minion soldier, but a bit higher on the criminal food chain.  In this case, though, right now I am doing something important for them and I do not yet know the team mission.  I have to see this through until the client leaves for the airport.

Well that went downhill fast.  Is Torley going to call this off or swallow his pride and lose face?

No loss of face, he took his shot.  No shame

So I guess the brainstorming on how we get Snow to this meeting starts. Anyone has any suggestions?

I would put forward the possibility of a switcheroo. We get this Vory VIP a high class escort (or two) to make up for the fact Snow has to leave, and we make sure he stays satisfied with the organization as a whole. I'm sure Snow can sweet-talk him into that trade ;)

Actually, Clem might know a girl or two, as she started by being muscle for working girls for the Yaks.

If it's just the face she wants to see, I'm sure we all have a picture or short video somewhere on our commlink.  That's not a big issue.

@Crossbow: what are the possibilities to set up a remote thing.  I know the club is shielded, but can we ask to have (to use today's parlance) one comm port opened?

@team: another actually very big question: how far are our characters in-game willing to go?  Sammy is quite reluctant to leave Seattle right now due to the issues with her brother, so if the Johnson is like that, she's all for just pulling the plug on this and search for something else.  While I (Farothel, the player) am willing to make this work, the fact is that my character has been reluctant from the start.

EDIT: I've added something IC.  If I have to roll something, please let me know.

Snow going on this run has to be done with the blessing of the Vory. The team needs to have some form of incentive to justify pulling Snow off Mr. Big Shot and sending her off to Lagos.

O'Connor's completely down for going to Lagos. He's imagining a city wide Barrens that's even more darwinian and hostile than Redmond. He's rather excited.

Clem doesn't know much about Lagos, as she has never really had to deal with it. For her, it'll be like another business trip, which she is fine with.

You have the wrong idea, the Johnson wants to meet Snow in person, also there is no way you can accept the job and Snow to finish her 'date'.

Sammy's brother is not going to get put to bed, it is an ongoing struggle.

Hmmmm.  It seems like I am ruining the chance to take this job.  Sorry.

Don't worry about it.  There has to be a way out, otherwise it will be a very short run and a lot of preparation gone. :P

I hate to say it, but Sam's about willing to let this job go. The elf has rubbed him completely the wrong way, and is clearly still trying to jerk the team around--"we must leave immediately, but you need to prepare and get immunizations, but we must get everybody here right now so we can leave, but if you say no I have time to get others". Either this is a rush job where time is so important that we need to pull Snow off her date, in which case Queen Frosty should have indicated something in the initial contact (and presumably have the necessary immunization stuff pre-arranged), or we can take a few days to prepare, which gives Snow plenty of time. She can't have it both ways. Also, the initial contact did not require the entire team to be present (Torley and Sammy could easily have come by themselves), so Sam's surprised that the elf is bitching that they didn't all drop everything and come at her beck and call.

He's also aware that Sammy is very reluctant to go, though he doesn't know why.

He's got obligations to the Club, but he's not convinced right now that those obligations include putting up with this Johnson.

You do understand that you came into this negotiation the wrong way in the first place.  I understand that Torley is an arrogant shit, but you have always approached jobs like the person should roll over and beg for your help.  It doesn'twork that way.

From the list of questions I filled out way back when we first started:
Quote
Why does your character run the shadows? - Boredom, mostly, though the income does help pay for his stuff. He loves the excitement of meeting new people and convincing them to do what he wants, though the violence part of Running still makes him queasy.
How does your character view their role as a shadowrunner? - He feels that he ought to be in charge, because really, who could possibly be more important than himself? This attitude has been known to create friction--both with other Runners and with the Johnsons who have dealt with him.

So there's that.

But I don't think I've played him that arrogantly when dealing with the Johnsons. I've tried to keep his expectations for the pre-job meetings along the lines of business partners--he respects the Johnsons because they've got the money, but he expects them to respect his team for having the skills. He's got enough spare nuyen that he can enjoy his lifestyle for a fairly lengthy period of time, so he's not going to go into the meeting with a "we need this job or I don't eat" attitude. He's not going to beg for work like the current Johnson seems to expect (at least, not unless the rest of the team tells him that they need the job). He knows the team is good, and he expects the Johnsons who come to him to have at least some respect for that fact--they're not picking a random group of chummers off the street corner, they're hiring a battle-tested group of professionals.

Crossbow already said he didn't have a plan for an easy out. There may not even be a way out. If it comes down to Vory or Heaven's Devils, Snow will obviously complete her mission for the Vory. It also seems that we cannot proceed with the run without her. Even if we could that would effectively kick Mercy out of the game, since these runs take like two years to complete. This mission is looking more and more like it's getting scrapped. A shame, I was rather looking forward to this one.
