Was that an intentional misinformation? As far as the rules are concerned, astral entities can pass through solid matter as long as it's not dual natured (that's why some corps developed awakened plants that can be used to isolate walls against astral intrusion.

@Jack_Spade page 314 of the CRB : "The Earth is solid on the astral plane, just as it is in the physical world; astral forms cannot pass through it. Secure facilities are often built underground to keep out astral intruders."

However I think that if you can find the entrance of the bunker no reason you can't access it through there.

It was never explicitly sated how far down you'd have to be before astral forms couldn't reach you.  Nor does it state what constitutes as earth in the CRB or SG.  Outside of what Kuirem posted above.  Gilga has already made an IC reference in game about how facilities built deep underground are hard to access by astral entities. (remember the basement to the casino)  It wasn't really meant to be misinformation, intentional or not.  More like an explanation as to why that tactic couldn't/didn't work.

I see, still, passing unseen on the astral through doors and corridors should be no problem (also this raises the question what earth elementals do if they can't get into the earth

Or, come to think of it, how certain fire elementals could possess a whole plot of ground)
