I am making a Nosferatu adept. We are using the following rule books and will be using Roll20 ( not that that has any impact)

SR4
Runner's Companion
Augmentation
Arsenal
Street Magic
Unwired

I have some questions about how certain things work. For instance if I increase magic temporarily from Essence drain then do I get new Adept powers while my magic is inflated?

I also am worried that my character is not fitting a specific role. We have 2 combat characters ( street sam types) a chemist/demo man and a hacker.  My guy is just sort of there. hes a nosferatu, that;s what he does.

I have two builds, one that has mystic armor and body increases and I end up with a very beefy armor of over 20 for each type.

The other has Astral perception, kinestics ( social skills are where my guy is at) and Combat sense.

I guess my big question is how adept powers fluctuate with my magic.  I also wonder if there is any cool things that I could do with a Nosferatu adept that are not necessarily combat related or fill a hole in our group. I feel like I will be the magic guy as the only one with any kind of magic powers. That being said I am not necessarily better prepared to handle magic problems besides.... kill the mage. I have 2 days to finalize my character and I can make as many changes as I want between now and then.

I felt really limited because of how many BPs were used to become a Nosferatu.

Okay I am rambling the point is do you think focusing on massive armor and body as a nosferatu adept is a good choice or should I try to fill that social niche more?  ( even with the armor adept I still have 12 dice in social skills.)

And the rules on adpet powers with fluctuated magic would be nice. I can't seem to find them.

there is no set rule concerning what happens when an adept overcharges his Magic via feeding in regards to does he gain extra powers or not.

You can go here to hear some ideas about it, but again nothing canon:

Now Patrick Goodman has been around and he might shed some shadows (lights irritate his minions) on this. ;)
Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

Looks like you are playing a 4e game judging by the books you posted, so that Link Sendaz gave you doesn't really apply (that is for 5e).

If I remember right (and I probably do not) There is no way for an infected to increase their magic rating in 4e with Essence drained.

And a quick piece of advice, check with your GM if he will even allow an infected in the group, as they have been known to create... tension. (If he says yes, you're good to go...)
Where am I going? And why am I in a hand basket ???

A heck of a lot depending on the attitudes of the other players :P

Nothing has incited (in my experience) more player on player (no, not character on character!) Animosity then a single person trying to bring an infected character into a game of non-infected.

Its gotten to the point (for me) that I just do not allow a mixing of infected and non-infected.

Now, that's just my experience, and the reported experience from the players and GMs in my local community, hence why I said "talk to your GM to see if he will allow it". Some GMs will some won't.

As I understand it, nosferatu can't be solely adepts; the 'worst' they can be are mystic adepts.  Overcharging their magic goes solely into their spellcasting, in that case.

Nothing stops then from being adepts, however if a spirit or project mages notices he's dual natyred and intends him hard then there is little the adept can do to respond other than run.

All nosferatu Awaken as magicians if they were not Awakened before Infection. If they began as adepts, they become mystic adepts.
