Is there any reference to what became of the Easter Island in Shadowrun?
Maybe I will use it in a future campaign.

Kidding aside, you would do well to look up Easter Island history without the Sixth World, then read up on similar South Pacific places (even Hawaii) IN the Sixth World, and go with what percolates from there. Make sure you have plenty of coffee.

I know that Rapa Nui has a giant hollow dormant volcano that is flooded, on one of its corners. Plenty of room for Bad Stuff, or, the Injustice League, to set down roots; could be important.
