On a whim, I started building a character builder in excel for 5th edition Shadowrun this week since I hate working with paper and pencil.  It is definitely not done but I think you can more or less go through the character creation process for anything except a technomancer and maybe riggers/hackers.  Just  a heads up, the layout on everything except maybe the augmentation and inventory tabs is horrible and I don't have a sheet that really compiles everything except maybe the Karma tab.

Any way, I figure I would post the current version of the project in case someone want to run with it or just use it.  Let me know if you have any suggestion or found one of the many mistakes.  I am sure I made.  The file is available here.

I just figured I should note that idiedtrying has taken over this project and converted it over to openoffice.  So, the link above is no the most up to date file.  Just go to last page in this thread and it should be somewhere around there.

I don't use Excel, I use Apple Numbers - but without getting into a war over which is better (Numbers) ... I opened it to see if it worked.  It seems to be fine with only minor formatting oddities.  So, simply wanted to say "good work" that's a lot of typing and such.  Keep us updated with revisions!

I thought I had fixed the negative qualities issue but I must of missed it.  It should be fixed tonight.

So, I looked into it and the most up to date files should have the problem fixed.

On priority b for magic the values are reversed. It gives me 6 magic and a skill at 4 with a mystic adept. It Gives a magic of 4 with no skill for adept.

There is a new version up.  It should now work for technomancer and I added a section for knowledge skills and contacts.  Also, I appreciate the issues people are pointing out.

On the spell list, unless I am missing it, I don't see any of the Increase (Mental) spells listed. You only have the Increase (Physical) spells. Being that mages will most likely want to pick up Increase Willpower, Logic, or Charisma, would be cool to have it added.

On the stats page there is no way to increase your magic. For example if you are priority D and start with 2 Mag you could only increase it to 6 with special points by getting rid of B11s code, which will make the cost come out wrong.

We doubly appreciate the work you are doing.  There is a void in the character creation help department, and every bit to fill it is a good thing.  :D

New version is up. I fixed markelphoenix and Chrona issues.  Hopefully sometime this week,  I can get a character sheet up and running.
