A young man with clear Middle Eastern features, eyes brimming with a barely veiled fervor and sense of sadness behind it.

== Background ==
Ali Badren was born to a corporate Zoarastrian family in a subsidary of Cross Applied Technologies, doctors working for Galen Medical Research, expatriates from Iran back in the early upheaval of the Awakening. Having grown up the early part of his life a corporate brat, life changed for Ali in the wake of the Crash 2.0. Having lost his identity, Ali discovered his powers as a magus, visited by an Ahura that commanded him: "Go into the shades to advance the cause of the Light and Good."

A teenager at this time, Ali was moved by the experience, and split off from his family, christening himself Delir Emet or Brave Hope, for the purposes of his work. Over time, his mindset and understanding of the Avesta manifested itself as a preference to heal in his spells, and manipulate the daevas or work with the ahuras to carry the truly heavy burdens of battle. Similarly he understood well how to drive them away.

In years of running, the recent Dragonslaying has drawn his attention- for surely only Ahriman would command such forces of destruction to such cataclysmic endeavors.

== Description ==
Slightly shorter than average elf with pale skin, green eyes, and red hair. She's well-built for her part time job, though not for running--she uses her magic for that, and in case magic won't cut it, she carries a pistol. She is very rarely seen without her grey messenger bag, which contains an automatic floatation device. She is visibly uncomfortable/nervous around deep water, and will panic if she falls in.

She is a chaos mage, and is more comfortable with technology than might be expected of mages of other traditions, though she still shies away from implants. Her lodge materials include materials typical of a hermetic mage, along with holo devices (illusion), assorted tools (manipulation), dried herbs (healing), and a few small weapons (combat). It takes up most of her living room, and provides a mana barrier around her apartment.

She's... a little nutty.

== Background ==
She was born in Tir na nOg, but her family moved to Seattle when she was very young. She doesn't know why, as it was never discussed, and she eventually gave up asking, Her grandmother taught her the basics of magic when it became clear that she had Awakened, using odd names for spells, since Seanmháthair didn't know English well (Irish/Sperethiel pidgin*), and Lexx's Sperethiel isn't very complex (and Irish nonexistent, aside from overlap with Sperethiel).

After the crash, Lexx opted not to have her SIN replaced, since her income from her legitimate job was heavily supplemented by light B&E and other small, and usually illegal, jobs that her fixer hooked her up with.

* - they're from the region of Ireland that actually speaks Irish as the primary language, so the switch to Sperethiel happened pretty quickly there among elves (I'm guessing)

== Concept ==
Lexx is a mage, with emphasis on support magic - control and manipulation spells, rather than combat. She has good charisma and some Face-type skills, and is pretty handy with a pistol. She works part time as a dancer/waitress at a club/bar, at which she wears an outfit very similar to a playboy bunny costume.

She is pathologically afraid of deep water, and carries a floatation device (pretty much) at all times.

She names her weapons, and will refer to her weapons by name only unless asked for clarification. She has 3 sharpened plastic sporks, which she carries as primary weapons. They are indistinguishable to everyone but her, and have separate names. (Spock, Krops, and Sporkula.)

She has different names for her spells than the norm, and can only describe the spell if asked (she never remembers the normal name, and doesn't really care to).

== Notes ==
Bartender: Mia. Works at the same club as Lexx, and supervised her when she was just starting out. Human. She works effectively full time, so her connections are mostly limited to patrons of the bar, but through them she can get info, given time. She used to work there as a stripper, but switched to bartending as she got older. They're friends, so unless Mia's likely to get in trouble for involvement, she's willing to help out with small favors--including helping Lexx get flexible hours. She does not know Lexx's given name, nor the name associated with her fake SIN. Mia gave Lexx her stage name, Alexia, from which they derived Lexx.

Fixer: Roderick. Met via Mia. Troll. He doesn't trust her (never trust an elf), but he likes her all right and she generally does a good job, so he doesn't mind small favors--as long as he gets something out of it. Only knows her as Lexx.[/spoiler]

Physical Description: Eugene is dark and slender, and about as handsome as an ork can be. His tusks add a certain pensive look to his face which some find comical on an ork, although his expressions tend to be serious and unamused. He grooming is rather slovenly and he dresses exclusively in second-hand sport coats, giving him a rumpled professor sort of look, which is helped by his coke-bottle spectacles.
Personality/background The nightmares started at age 4, when Eugene's family left Nigeria to live in France. Nearly every night he was plagued by imagined visits from otherworldly presences. When he realized he was awakened, it got worse, and Eugene totally lost the ability to tell his strange nightmares from his even stranger reality. For this reason, Eugene has latched on to spirit friends, who help him navigate the astral world, and magical objects, which lend a sense of physicality to his otherwise intangible powers and horrors. In his attempts to defeat this crippling rift with reality, Eugene has honed his perception skills, and mentally keeps a list of everything around him, noting changes as evidence of possible hallucinations. He has also plunged himself into the study of the arcane, and while he has always been called to the intuitive and spiritual aspects of shamanism, this study has given him a strong analytical mind as well.

Upon coming of age, Eugene moved to Seattle to study the magical arts in a place known for its awakened population. However, he felt a strong desire to return to Africa, whither he feels his nightmares have been calling him. Eugene has taken several trips to Nigeria in pursuit of various arcane mysteries, hoping to find some peace and respite from the nightmares.

== Description ==
Doc T has the look of someone who's seen it all and no longer cares. He's never quite clean shaven, and his hair is often in need of a trim. He doesn't look like a wreck, but depending on your perspective you'd either say he was "rumpled" or "rode hard and put away wet". While his equipment may be used, it is always in tip top shape. He is usually a bit reserved and taciturn, but he becomes quite friendly when he's had a few drinks - especially when soccer is on the Trid.

== Background ==
Doc T performed his military service like most Israeli teenagers. He was a corpsman in the Israeli Army for a year before college. During College he was a pre-med student. In his first year of Med school he developed a drinking problem and could no longer keep up with the coursework. When the Dean suggested that he take a leave of absence, Doc T realized that he had to get his drinking under control. Doc T decided that he had been most disciplined and successful when he was in a more controlled environment. He decided to take a job with the Israeli equivalent of Docwagon where he worked for a year and was able to get a handle on his drinking problem (from severe to mild). By his Mid-twenties his skills as a combat medic were recognized by several mercenary groups and he received a job offer for significantly more money to work in the "private sector" military. At the same time, a family friend who worked for the Mossad (his Mr. Johnson) had recognized that his bi-lingual upbringing (mother was Lebanese, Father Israeli), facility with languages, and generally outgoing personality might be an asset to the state. This Mr. Johnson strongly encouraged Doc T to join a Merc Company, to learn as much as he could, and to occasionally report back what he was up to, and where he was doing it. Doc T has worked as a bodyguard and mercenary in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East and he has always helped out his Mr. J.

Most recently, in Lagos, Doc T was hired as a member of Jane's advance team in Lagos. He's been in Lagos before (what Merc worth their salt hasn't been!), so his on the ground knowledge, while limited compared with a native is an asset. He doesn't particularly care for the chaos of Lagos, but he likes the pay and she's been a fair employer thus far.

-Shin Nakata was born in Osaka from a Japanese father and an elf mother. Fortunately for the family, Shin could pass for a Japanese human, which helped him get through his childhood and mid twenties without any problems. However, talking about his elvish heritage was strictly forbidden at home. As a result, Shin despises his elvish roots and does not talk about them.

-Shin's father, Muneo, was the head of a company dealing in logistics. Shiawase, as part of their massive shakeup, acquired Akakaze corp. Shin, having been groomed to head Akakaze after his father, was assimilated and immersed in Shiawase culture. After a while, factions started to see the Akakaze branch as a threat to their power and decided to dig for as much dirt as they could find. Shin's mother and his heritage was used against him to push him out of the company. As a result, his father was forced to perform harakiri (ritual suicide) in order to spare Shin's life. He was exiled to HK, where he learned to fend for himself out of the meeting rooms.

-The factions responsible for Shin's exile grew stronger within Shiawase and wanted to finish what they intended to do in the first place: silence Shin in order to rid the company of the shame of having employed a "tainted" employee. Shin found the strength to once again leave everything behind and go to uncharted territories.

-Shin has been living in Melbourne for a few years now and is starting to get accustomed to his new environment.  Some habits are hard to kick though, and Shin enjoys living the “in-crowd” life: going out, spending, staying in nice hotels, etc. He has a habit of leaving a business card on his runs as a “signature”. On the cards is his former Shiawase employee code, something only a limited number of people know, and even less care about.[/spoiler]

Storm is an elf mage originally from Scandinavia who was heavily involved in a cult known as the Black Hammers which revered and worshipped Thor, the god of Thunder. She was forced to leave her home after the international media made connections between many similar cults and the Winternight terrorist organization attacks of 2064. She was granted citizenship in Tir soon thereafter, but unfortunately was forced to acquire a legal SIN in the immigration process. Having grown up in the pristine Northern European forests, she never encountered pollution until she moved to Seattle, and she has found that it irritates her skin and eyes tremendously. She’s started to use Psyche to boost her magical abilities while in combat, and is finding herself using it recreationally more and more. She has an unnatural beauty about her, but also exudes a feeling of darkness and cruelty. She recently found a chapter of her old group and has rejoined their ranks, but is still something of an outsider since the group has had incidents in the past with impostors. She is, however, well-connected to their leader, a woman named Olivia Black. Storm’s main talents are Intimidation, Illusion/Combat Magic, Counterspelling, and summoning of Valkyrie spirits. She is a world-class mage when it comes to combat magic, both offensively and defensively.

Storm has augmented her senses with both cyber and bioware in order to be more effective not only as a combat mage but also as a master of intimidation. She has smartlinked cybereyes and a Spellslinger glove she acquired on the black market, which combined with her vision magnification gives her the ability to cast indirect combat spells such as Flamethrower and Ball Lightning at distant targets with startling accuracy. Her sense of smell is incredibly astute, allowing her to analyze the pheromones of her prey, not unlike a predator in the wild. Finally, she installed a set of Platelet Factories and Damage Compensators to help dampen injuries when her concentration falters and she overextends herself while casting spells at full strength.

Valkyries are a proud, noble group of spirits that do not take kindly to dishonorable tasks. They revel in combat, but only when they feel that their summoner is taking part in the action. Their primary strength is in defense, where they will passionately defend their charge even against uneven odds. Such a death is noble and honorable to the Valkyrie. Storm has made an enemy of a power Valkyrie after she asked the spirit to kill an unarmed man as part of an assassination. Since then, Storm has publicly vowed to never send a Valkyrie against the weak or helpless (note: this is a Geas, if broken Storm will lose one point of magic for 24 hours). It appears that the Valkyries have accepted this vow and will continue to accompany Storm as long as she keeps her word. It would be extremely unwise to test this theory.

Detection: Water

The Fae are a dangerous ally in the best of circumstances. They excel at bartering, especially when it comes to secrets. They like to show off the breadth of their knowledge and like showing their summoners obscure glimpses into far corners of the spirit world. They are unable to tell lies but also use this to their advantage, taking care to word answers in ways that are hard to interpret at times.

Health: Fire

The fire giants are a power group of spirits, and are the embodiment of raw power. These spirits excel at preserving as well as destroying. They are formidable opponents, nearly impossible to destroy due to their massive strength reserves.

Illusion: Air

Storm spirits are etherial in nature and can be very difficult to detect. They tend to be very stealthy until they strike, often using smoke, wind, thunder, or lightning attacks. They are also excellent at hiding people and property, obscuring the world in a haze of fog and rain.

The dwarves of Nidavellir are a hardy group that doesn’t appreciate being given small tasks. They revel in huge undertakings, whether raising a wall of stone or smashing through a wall. Just check (and keep checking) the PbP forum itself.
At this moment there's at least one game that's recruiting. (Though, admittedly, that's not really your standard game.). A couple of days ago there were two but apparently that slot's been filled.
But keep checking the forum. To be honest, not a lot of GM's will look for players on the Big Black Book o' Runners, they expect players to look for them.
Most seem to think that if you can't put in the effort it takes to search for a game and ask to join but instead just sit and wait for a personal invitation, you're not really 'devoted' enough to spend so much effort on.

I play matrix specialists (pure hackers and technomancers). I have several characters made, but would make another if needed. I definitely have a hankering for 2050 and classic decking.

I can post any day, after 9 EST guaranteed, but earlier likely. I can reliably post 2-3 times per week, but often more.
