Ok, maybe a little advice would be useful here. Do you guys just dig stuff up out of your minds to post when adding new events or stuff here? Just trying to see what the leeway is here, and how it is done.

I try to avoid events personally, but that's my preference. I don't want to be accused of that "Mary Sue" stuff.

Well, the characters I post as here are characters I've played in a couple games before, so I know their personalities and backstories well. And then I expand on things from there. The one major 'event' kind of thing I did with Iceblade was the Pyramid run (check the IC thread starting on page 73 or so). That was something that was an off-screen collaboration involving run ideas from Wyrm Oroboros and Wolfgar that Keita and I worked up into a series of events. Which we then broadcast 'snapshots' of.

As for published events and the like, I have pulled aspects from them into my writing, but only in the "Hey, I heard that..." kind of way.

Most of the time, just play your character and have fun.

Sorry about vanishing folks, as it says in my General Discussion thread, life got hinky and kinky. So I return, and I'll try to make a plausible excuse for what Emir was doing in the meantime.

Yeah so

I'm sorry if the time on my posts seems off, but I'm actually ON Pacific time right now (Yay Arizona), and so I'm looking at everyone else's posts going "That doesn't seem right....", and have been posting as per my actual (current) time zone of....well, pacific.

Since like four people responded to Firebug's post, I want to make it clear:  She hasn't said anything back to give the impression that she was more or less "scared off" and doesn't actually have a good come back (since she's seriously just a punk at this stage). Feel free to call her out on it.

Jeeze.  It would almost sound stupid until you realize we're talking about an immortal elf clown sword fighting a dragon ghost in a mall.

To sum it up, should anyone do any digging about the post, yes, a bunch of guys have spent the last month doing surgical strikes to take out a thrill gang that could have gotten nastier than the Halloweeners, since once of their recruiting methods is to kidnap and blackmail or brainwash young Awakened to join them.  Most of the Awakened kids have been returned home, if they had one, if not, they've dropped out of sight.  The guy spearheading the attack is a druid that's been semi-active in the Seattle shadows for a while who has run under two handles.  One is Po'boy, but an older one is Uath MacImmoman.  An urban combat specialist with a reputation for either a quick, clean operation that leaves no clue who hit you, or rather loud, "messy" ops that leave no doubt as to why that particular person or group just plain had to go.   As an aside, his "messy" ops generally tend to only inflict casualties on the guilty party(s).

To be entirely honest, I was tempted to come in as Po' Boy(Uath MacImmoman) but decided against it, largely due to the fact that after I looked over his sheet(which I still have, in case that guy runs again) he's maybe 10 Karma shy of being on par with some of the guys in Street Legends.  Of course, this was after running through Ghost Cartels, Dawn of the Artifacts and a bunch of other stuff that was learn or die situations.  So, I decided to try posting as his latest apprentice.  By the way, and apprentice that screws up(Mouthing off to a pair of level 6 Initiates counts) gets named Siouxsie.  Or Robert, if it's a woman.

Well, here's the thing: your recent 'VU93 Street Legends Shadowtalk' posts suggest that everyone should recognize 'Uath', and nobody does, because he's only from your games.  Your comment on the Wyrm's shadowtalk would get a response of 'who the frell is 'Uath'' - because even though he's a legend in your game, it's your game - and not everything here.  From the Wyrm's viewpoint, he's still a bloody isolated runner - because he's only been around since, what, '65?  '70?  And more-or-less only in Seattle, barring a trip or three outside the city??  My point with this is that neither this-Siouxsie (as there's another one in old Shadowtalk) nor Uath MacImmoman/Po' Boy has traction here - no recognition factor.

The Wyrm has it, just because I've been posting here for a while, and because I've been posting/playing as this character on other places, and people who post here know me from there.  Plus, by both his admission and others' ICly, he has worked and worked very hard indeed to keep himself on the down-low.  When you purposely burn Street Cred to lower your Notoriety, when you purposely burn Street Cred to lower your Public Awareness, when you run under other names in order to keep your primary profile low, only the people who ran with you are going to remember you, because even though 'the Wyrm' has the Karma, its cred and impact gets applied to the name.

I'm not saying 'go away'; please god, don't do that.  But you-as-Siouxsie needs to understand that you might get plenty of 'who?  Never heard of him' when you're talking about your street god.  You might also want to come up with reasons for the karma Uath earned from published adventures; ICly, it's never anyone here who did them, always 'someone else'.

I know that, and am expecting a lot of "Who?"  And I'm not expecting people to know who he is.  Please, dear lord, don't start posting a lot of "Oh, I know that guy." as related to Uath.  Part of the reason Siouxsie was jacked into here was Bull's rep, and the fact that nobody on here should have the slightest clue who either name is.  Sorry if I gave a different impression on that matter.

Frankly, I'm half-expecting some of the more moral runners to have a distinct dislike for him until they pry all the facts out of Siouxsie.  The kid's not being 100% honest, because what kid is when he gets caught doing something stupid by the adults?

Seeing as i'm a pretty late joiner, are there any big things I should know about before deciding to have a jump in and such?

I mean, I could read all 182 pages of your stuff, but I do have a job and a social life (honest!)
