Been reading through Corp book this week and making a list of hints and leads that have plagued SR for years without any answers.
-
Like why someone introduced Psycics as something special in Z-O? Cause that one keeps me thinking someone didn't know the rules for magic when they were writing :D
-
If you're going to list all the unanswered leads from past source books you'll need a LOT of paper. I think every book from first edition on has several leads and hints that were never fulfilled in an official or fictional sense.

I predict they'll all go mad...

Don't forget that many times the runners contradicted themselves with differing theories.
Me, I'd like to learn more about that Pendragon guy. Seriously? He just disappears back in the æther after the Queen takes out the Lord Protectoriat? And what about the sword? Did Laughing Man get it?

What was he supposed to do, stick around and rule? His job was done. Batman doesn't stick around and actually run the Gotham City PD, does he? ;D

Actually did something with that in a game I GMed about 15 yrs ago (no type). Created a bunch of Adept powers around that theme....Not a very succesful experiment ;D
-
The resolution of the Pendragon storyline happened behind the curtain so to speak, surprised such a long running plot was wrapped up so quick and quiet.
(Maybe I'm just nostalgic for our long nights running missions in England after London sourcebook came out.)

But he should. :)

He does in Earth-2.
Seriously. Bruce Wayne became GPD Commissioner after Jim Gordon retired on Golden Age Earth-2. After he married Catwoman, of course. Made the dinner table awkward later on when their daughter became The Huntress and turned to vigilantism.

Power Girl is still the best thing to come out of that continuity, IMHO.

I think you mean Power Girl is the best two things. ;D

The whole thing with pendragon would have made a great adventure to publish.
and not small time either big like the harleyquin books.
-
That's what I was hoping for. And to have a sidequest in there somewhere that Pendragon went to Tír na nÓg to address the court there... ;)
-
Sorry if i look like the guy who don't follow, but who or what is Pendragon? ??? looks interesting.

OMG! OMG! OMG!
*ahem*
Sorry, that was my ... nephew ... Yeah. He jumped on the computer while I was making dinner.
Pendragon appeared in London raising a ruckus against the Lord Protectorat office. He was a hypnotic speaker, and wielded a sword that may or may not have been Excalibur. He was able to organize all the different groups together into the largest peaceful march ever to protest the Lord Protectoriat, with no violence occurring, no matter how much the Protectoriat's officers provoked the group. Upon speaking to the group outside of Buckingham Palace, Queen Catherine came out to the crowd, joining with Pendragon and abolishing the LP's office. At which point, that was the last time anyone has seen him.
-
Ok, but if the sword was Excalibur, wasn't it supposed to be Harlequin that was in possession of it?
Thanks for telling me who was Pendragon btw.
-
Yeah... there was even a comment about that in one of the descriptions about he sword he was carrying. The Laughing Man mentioned that maybe he should go check it out...
-
Last I read no one had Excalibur but Dunkelzhan said in his will if found return it to the Dunkelzhan Instatute of Magical Research and youd get I think it was a favor from Harleyquin?? AKA the last knight of the crying spire.
-
The old name was the Crimson Spire, but ya.
-
Casazil's got the right of it:
To the last Knight of the Crying Spire, I leave the suit of armor worn by Richard the Lion-hearted on his Crusade, because it's up to You to lead the next one. I also leave you the sword Excalibur — unfortunately, I can't seem to find it at the moment. To whomever finds Excalibur, deliver it to the Draco Foundation for a reward and title. The Draco Foundation will promptly turn the sword over to you, my knight.

Sounds like Harlequin will have to get the sword back from Pendragon, should be interesting :o
-
Laughing Man's made a couple of comments regarding Excalibur. One insinuates that Arthur had taken a lot more credit than he deserved for Camelot, and the second was when it was mentioned that Pendragon was carrying the sword. Something akin to "Maybe I should pay him a visit."
It's been noted that Pendragon has visited the island that appeared in the English Channel (which many consider may be Avalon), no matter how hard the Lord Protectoriat's office tried to keep him away...

Harlequin vs. Pendragon
I'd buy tickets!!! :o ;D

Harlequin vs. Pendragon
I'd buy tickets!!! :o ;D
Probably go something like this:
"`sup, Arthur."
"Hoi, Caim."
"How ya been? How was the nap?"
"Not bad, had this krick in my shoulder for what seemed like years."
"Uh-huh... Listen. Big D, ya remember 'Merline', right? Anyway, he left me the sword in his will."
"Yeah, I saw that. Just needed to borrow it to get England back on track. Here ya go."
<Casazil angrily yelling and booing as he throws his popcorn at the two of them.>

Well if it's in the NEW book spells & chrome I have been slacking as of late an have yet to read that one. Could also be I only have the PDF version of it.
-
ya, it would be the new one. got it at gencon, started reading it and couldn't put it down. it's worth the time to read, and being short stories you feel a sense of accomplishment finishing a story in like 30 min lol. ya i'll get it back and do some research as to where i saw the reference

Kinda makes me wonder what kind of powers Excalibur has. Must be one hell of a weapon focus, but the sword must have some other powers?
-
I wouldn't put it past the devs to make it a massively powerfull focus mid double digits 40's 50's it may even be slightly selfaware.
-
Weapon/Power focus? Probably also gives a serious bump to Social skills.
-

like some kind of power to inspire people into doing great things like the peaceful prostestation you spoke of earlier.
-
Exactly. All the stories about him in the sourcebooks went on about how he was a terrific speaker and inspired a lot of people, but didn't have the aura of a Social Adept.
-
As we talk about all of this, I feel like I should try to find and read some Earthdawn books, since a majority of the most powerful characters(immortals and dragons) came from that era.

I was just saying a powerfull focus as it is clearly a weapon but a combined power/weapon focus yeah that'd work.
