Welcome to 2074. (Why? Because Captain Chaos says so!)

Character creation rules here https://sites.google.com/site/sr4lco/character-creation

I have lots of free time but I expect most people who play by post do not. I aim for once a week posts minimum if you could please do that much at least. So as to not slow this to a snails pace. The site I linked already has 7 players in that game but I'm using the chargen rules on that site. Ignore anything else unless you are interested in joining a 7 man group over skype/maptools on tuesdays, after 7pm, when the strawberries are ripe.

Beyond that here is the new Bioware.

Tissue Augmentation 15,000 Nuyen and .5 essence per rating. Max rating of 4. Body is increased by this rating. Stacks with bone density augmentation body increase and bone lacing (if lacing ever should provide it I never did look at ALL of the lacing)

No more then 8 players please and also these people have priority over others as they both helped out with the chargen rules and showed interest.

I know that's a lot of people more then the 8 person limit I personally propose (subject to change per player vote that's just my personal hard cap I won't let it go above 8 PC's) what does that say about my chances of getting in? Well not much. You see life hits you like Ippo Makunouchi on a Dempsey Roll so from what I know half or more of these people may not have time to play. Meaning there will likely be people without that priority playing. Including you. Also I ask that any players on the VIP list that aren't interested or unable to play tell me as much so I can state next to your name that you aren't up for it.

People In
Slot 1: Mirikon
Slot 2: Lethe
Slot 3: bangbangtequila
Slot 4: All4BigGuns - Primary: Fire Support/Other Support
Slot 5: Nycidian Grey - Drone Rigger/Technomancer
Slot 6: Aria
Slot 7: e-do
Slot 8: Jian

Any interested players will now be thrown into a wordpad file for high powered games. These people are the new priority list if I do another game.

Background

Throughout 2072 and 2073 assassination attempts were made against various great dragons. Some of these include failed attempts at Lofwyr and Hestaby. Two high profile dragons that in particular used the coverage for their own gain. But no one could mistake the panic even in the media queens eyes or the anger in Lofwyr's voice...these assassins waited in their most private sanctums and murdered their second in command...no matter how you slice it, this was not staged. The bodies of the attackers burned away after dying but reports state that they were elves. The Tir nations are claiming to have no ties to these assassination attempts. These two attempts in particular were made in 2072.

One of the elves is found with a new piece of hardware and this is in turn reverse engineered by everyone. Say hello to Tissue Augmentation people. The newest bioware ever. Of course where it came from remains a mystery as well as who made it. Now back to those angry angry dragons (not the board game!). It would seem that everything was slowing down. In fact it was pretty slow, which is a very strange thing, across the globe. Now if anyone knows how the criminal world works there is a damn good reason it's allowed to still exist. In the end it generates money for the people it rips off. Yes you can never rip off a corp. But the main point here is that Knight Errant saw less crime reports to fill out. Common speculation was that the megacorps came up with a brilliant plan and used all these criminals to do something super dangerous and most of them may have died. This was wrong. Terrorist cells, radicals, paramilitary groups, racism clubs, and even gangs, stopped and I mean stopped. There was literally no crime from any organized criminal group in the world for six months. Then the magic happened, on live television December 25, 2073, black armor clad (yeah say what you will but they looked cool) militants tortured and killed Hestaby. Live. Everyone thought it was either some weird sitcom or a secret porn vid until they got reports that it was on every media outlet. Radios included. Personal commlinks were the only secure thing to use during this time as everything else was hijacked. How no one knows. But after realizing that what was being seen was real almost everyone protested or left to help their favorite dragon, even UCAS dispatched a force. Of course not many people solo a torture session with a great dragon and live to tell the tale. Upon meeting a black clad army whose bodies and everything on them burned to ash upon death they realized Harlequin was present for that battle. They never found a body, but then what body could have been left behind? In a stunningly fast defeat ARES decided to use it's orbital weapons platform. The platform failed disastrously, first firing and destroying the UCAS/Tir combined forces most important assets, refusing to stop firing it eventually taxed itself and exploded, among other things the platform now needs to be rebuilt. As Hestaby drew her last dying breath and the survivors lay there defeated waiting for aid from their comrades Harlequin made his final move in this life. Moving in he tried in vain to save Hestaby with his magic but in the end it ended up costing him his own as he underestimated the madman now known as the "Dragonslayer". Both Hestaby and Harlequin were lost. Hestaby at least had a body to mourn over but whatever magic was used on Harlequin it left naught but a fine red mist.

Since that day no one has seen nor heard about the Dragonslayer but many are living in fear of this madmans power.

January 13, 2074 - Reports state that an implant caused all of the black soldiers to burn away to ash via a potent version of white phosphorous or incendiary means they as of yet do not understand. The one body they do have was courtesy of Lofwyr's failed assassination attempt. Further study shows that this army may be made up of criminals across the world. If so they are expected to have the means to be anywhere within a reasonably short amount of time.

Welcome to 2074.

Some things to know about the state of the world.

-Martial law has been used in many countries since 2073.
-Mt. Shasta is a war zone.
-Many dragons have gone into hiding. With only the most powerful still hanging around publicly.

Question, if normal availability is 18 whats restricted gear bump it up to?

Second I would love to join a game I'll be honest I have never really played much Shadowrun but have owned the books since 1st edition and love the world.

Here's my character backstory I'm interested in playing.
Iron Talon was born Jared Winterborn on Jan, 3rd 2046 in Port Townsend to a Makah mother and an Anglo Father.

While growing up Jared learned from tribesmen who followed more traditional ways and a few who embraced the modern world. Both types of people urged him to see their way of viewing the world. But while Jared could see how interconnected the world was, unlike the traditionalists he also felt a connection to the modern world. As much as he saw the value of his people's traditional connection to the earth he needed to also connect with the iron and lightning of the new world.

Because of his unique thoughts he became a loner for most of his childhood. He developed an awareness of his own unique beliefs. He came to believe that as important as the natural world was, surely the mechanical and electrical must be as integral to our world as the living aspects. Not long after his 17th year he felt vindicated when the tenuous connection he felt bloomed and he began to see more and more information from the tech he encountered. At first as much as he believed he still wondered if it was just delusions but eventually as this continued, he was able to access data nodes without a commlink and even turn some simple things on and off. Then the final validation came to him as he was fully immersed trying to see if he could connect to a drone his father had bought to help clean their house.

Without any time passing or movement he found himself deep in a what looked like a forest yet everything was not quite like any place had ever known. It took him a second to realize that while everything looked natural and complete it was not a biological forest but one of machines. The leaves of the trees were tinted blue and when he reached out and took one into his hand he could see the that they were covered in solar cells though they looked as if they had grown there, having a quite natural beauty. He then looked at the bark and saw that it looked to be made of some sort of carbon composite perhaps. Letting go of the tree leaf he looked around and saw that everything in this forest seemed to be not only machine but quite alive. At that thought he noticed a large shadow pass over him. He looked in that dirrection to see a large Raven Land with a Loud metallic thunk. He soon found out this iron raven's name was Trickster, and was taught through communion how to become close to the living machines around him, also Trickster warned him to hide his ability because many could not or would not understand.

As Jared reached his 18th birthday he found he really had little in common with those in his town and felt stifled within his small community. He decided to enlist and because of his exceptional abilities he eventually became a pilot. After his first enlistment term he decided to leave the military as rumors of weird things that sounded like what he could do and rumors of government and corporate searches made him scared he might have issues if he stayed.

Knowing that if he wanted to stay hidden he need to head to somewhere where personal questions were discouraged he headed towards the Cascades. He eventually got a job fixing vehicles on a smuggling route. This job led to him meeting his future smuggling partner Chase. Chase an Anglo out of Seattle was part of a team of smugglers that ran through that route about once a month. For about a year he kept running into chase as their Nizhinyi BMV-2 needed constant work. At that time Jared and Chase struck up a strong friendship, and after that year when Chase's partner decided to move on Chase asked Jared to become his pilot. Jared agreed and Started going by the name Iron Raven.

For more than two years every thing went exceedingly well so well that Raven was able to buy into the partnership and they were able to buy a newer LAV. Then he and his partner made the mistake of stepping on the toes of another smuggling operation ran by the Dog Men, ex Tsimshian nationals who not only were pissed about loosing business but because Iron Raven was Makah apparently decided to burn some heavy favors. The Dog Men ended up somehow finding out where Chase and he were going to be crossing into the metroplex with a load and tipped off Lone Star. Iron Raven was able to get enough distance while evading Lone Star to let chase off and lead lonestar away before giving himself up.

The next three years he spent in a heavy security prison. Now hes free but has to start over again with nothing accept a bad reputation for being caught (not a good thing as a smuggler) and the great benefit of a criminal SIN.

Now with the help of Chase they both have decided to start over in Seattle using Iron Ravens mechanic Skills and Chases business skills for both a front and hopefully eventually to get back in the smuggling game.
I have the character mostly done but I need to add some qualities skills and gear considering your rules but considering how nuyen starved this character was as a rigger that should be useful.

Thanks for putting me on the VIP list!
I am feeling an extraordinary amount of love and interest towards this game. But unfortunately I am otherwise engaged and fear that I would be holding back the game should I join.
I thank you for your generous offer and would thank you again for putting me on the reserve list, should places open up in the future.

Have fun!

Definitely interested. I've statted up an 'advanced' version of Iceblade I could use, or I could come up with something new, depending on the needs of the group.

If there's room after the reserved people have gotten in, I'm definitely interested. Of course, given that, from what I know, at least seven of the pre-approved people are interested, and someone unapproved already posted interest before me... Eh, it's going to be a tight fit. Still, I reckon it'll be worth a try.

I would also be interested in joining you if there's a slot once the VIPs have snapped up their spots.  I'm a regular pbp GM and player on the DS forum and this game sounds like it might fit Feral, a wolf shifter mysad who is a featured NPC in a large number of my games.

There's a 400BP version of him here including background (which would need updating to 2074) - he has always been played as being more powerful than this so the extra points would be welcome!

Excellent.
I already made a character for this long time ago, just for when it finally will come up...at least so i thought.
Looking at the chummer file now, it was quite empty.
But creating characters is fun... so here i go..

Any details on the campaign settings to include into the characters background?

What exactly means "Anything I think they should have will be added such as skills, safehouses, and backup gear stashes".
Ie. if you think everyone should start with some basics like athletics/influence/stealth group at 1, it would be good to know that before character creation, to build on it.

I throw stuff at you after creation but anything I throw at you after creation is geared to your background. This is due to chummer letting me add stuff for free only after chargen. Also something I feel is low may get boosted. So keep in mind these are not the only bonuses. Actually these are the only gear bonuses the ones after creation tend to be qualities attributes or skills IE stuff that costs karma not money.

1 point in Athletics, Stealth, Influence, Outdoors.
OR 3 points in any one skill in those groups. That means you could take 4 skills one from each group at rating 3 or every skill in those groups at 1. The choice is yours.
One low level lifestyle bought, complete with a basic gear bag of your choice up to 15,000 Nuyen in value for gear. This lifestyle gets up to 10 points of advanced lifestyle qualities. Your choice. Keep in mind this place is a storage and safehouse for when drek hits the psychotically violent and vindictive troll. You get three of these and they can be anywhere. You can have one in Africa or even Japan. Anywhere you want them to be.
You also get one free vehicle and upgrades for it up to a 40,000 nuyen cost total.
As for restricted gear it bumps it up by 8 doesn't it? You normally start at 12 and can go to 20. So in this case 18 goes to 26.

Rosethorn is a facilitator. Face, assassin, runner, con artist, corporate spy. All of these, but long gone from merely that. He made things happen.

A natural elf, born so in 2035, he grew up bouncing through foster homes until savvy enough to leave. It was a petty life of small time crime until he was in his thirties, running up tabs under stolen ID's, forging poker chips and artwork, and getting a lifestyle far beyond his means and fleeing the wrath of those on the hook for them. Then he started running. He discovered the depth of the world around him, the politics, the magic, the true crimes, the world. Corporations didn't just run things, they ran everything. He decided he wouldn't be some petty fool anymore, he was going places. The streets were left behind as he stole the identity of a security chief of an Aztechnology building, and turned himself in after two weeks. After all, when someone shows up your security so spectacularly, gets away scott free, and then tells you about it, how could you not offer him a job?

So here he was, a man with a golden tongue, a hand so fast he could take your eyes, draw a knife, trim his nails and sheath it before you started screaming, and a job that paid more then he'd made in years on his own. He discovered, courtesy of the Azzie corp-aug program, that he was one of those few and far between capable of taking ordinary bioware and having it mesh flawlessly with a zero-point-zero zero four chance of rejection and ninety-seven percent integration ratio. While the numbers flew over his head, he damned well loved the new skills. He'd always been fast, but now he was fast. He sank thirteen schemes in the Chicago headquarters, taking down a cell of Ares-employed runners with only the help of the corporate Spider, Jax, who owed him - the only one he trusted at that moment. He lived in a high rise condo overlooking the ocean through glass so tough you could crash a helicopter into it and never flinch, eating snacks that, if sold for soy, could feed a hab for the day, and barely took the edge of his munchies off. These weren't even the good perks. He took damn near a half-mil in modifications to his body under the corp-aug, and he paid it off in scrip in under six months with the bounties. He achieved black-level clearance, officially wiping his name off the ledgers and setting up private accounts. He also, unfortunately for the Azzies, discovered just what sort of enemies a job this great could earn.

That condo of his? Well, the glass never broke, not even when the whole level exploded with fifty pounds of C4 lacing the supporting columns. Quite the sight to see a thirty foot wide, eight feet tall sheet of semi-indestructible glass propelled outwards at damn near the speed of sound, and with a background of setting up bed-burners himself, he appreciated the beauty. If John hadn't sent the hooker on ahead to warm up the bed while he picked up some recreational pharmaceuticals from his guy two blocks down, he'd have seen it from a whole different perspective. He bailed, fast. He had a getaway in Seattle, paid for under an alias even the Azzies hadn't known about, paid for out of accounts Jax had made damned sure weren't traceable by anyone. He made it there in twelve hours, loaded for bear. Nobody was home, and John got a chance to sit down and think it through. Nobody could have set that bomb, nobody cleared his security without the right codes. If they had the codes, then it was damned sure that the Azzies sold him out. So he scratched off his list of contacts, and started it over. There was just one name on the list of trusted, earned by virtue of a debt and a safe bed. He picked up the burner 'link and dialed. "Jax. Rosethorn."

I am considering making an "upgraded" version of Predator, but there is one major issue. I do not have access to 'voice' chat stuff, and I am too broke to be able to afford everything for it. If this can be worked around, the only other issue would be that I'm unsure if Chummer automatically adjusts Restricted Gear if standard max availability is raised--normal version doesn't have it, but the upgrade might depending on how it comes out.

As a worst case, add it in after creation.
