Title: Quick Question about Granite Shell (5e)
Post by: Shadowrunner13 on <12-29-23/0109:06>
How does the Metagenic Positive Quality, "Granite Shell" work/stack with work Armor? Is it only the two guaranteed hits, or is there something else to it? Since the wording is a bit iffy, I'm confused. "Granite Shell gives +4 armor that counts as hardened armor but does not fully stack with worn armor, for Damage resistance tests it gives an automatic 2 hits". It never relates the 2 hits to the partial stack with worn.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the lengthy question.

Check out Hardened Armor (SR5, p. 397). It's just like the Adept powers, but does not stack with the Armor rating of worn armor.

In other words, if you're not wearing armor, you get the +4 bonus to armor, and the 2 automatic hits. If you are wearing other armor, you do not get the +4 bonus, but you still get the 2 automatic hits on Damage Resistance.

Ok makes sense, thanks!
