Nice setup you got around here, kiddies.
To give everyone that ol' time feeling, you can change the date/time stamp for the boards to the old sourcebook stamps in your profile. To have it show like the books used to, use the following code:
(%H:%M:%S/%m-%d-%y)
Edit - Had the day/month flipped originally. It's no correct.

Stepping OOC for a moment, I'm a long-time SR fan (I picked up the 1E rulebook in 1990) and have been a member (although mostly lurker) of Dumpshock since 2005. And I've been WAITING for the day I finally got FastJack as my handle. ;D

That's rather whiz, I suppose! Then again Dumpshock is also a pretty happening place. It's nice to see there's a forum for this sort of deal!

Honestly, it wouldn't be too difficult to get SMF to look a bit like jackpoint, though it might require additional modules.

I would add that a great many game companies support official forums and that there is plenty of room for official and unofficial forums. Hopefully this forum will prove to be an asset to gamers, as Dumpshock has proven to be over the years.

Okay. It's been over 32 hours since I've first started posting here and I've realized just how much of a Shadowrun Junkie I am (if my handle didn't already say that). The only two posting more than me are Bull and Caine (and they've got a lot more in stake in this forum than I do).
So, I just wanted to thank you guys. Thank you for making me more like the hackers in the game where I'm shunning sunlight and searching for that next great caffeine binge.
Aw hell, I can't even *ACT* like I'm ticked off. I'm having too much fun!

I don't know about that. Maybe you'll get lucky on a run gone wrong and at least be blasted away with your team. Not the best people to waltz into the afterlife with sometimes, but at least you'll have company.

I've been playing Shadowrun off and on since 1st Ed, read many of the original novels, fell in love with the setting, and I've been really looking for a group in my area without any luck. Its good to see the forums so alive.

That's the plan anyway. Stupid economy and the job market means that hiring companies don't even give you a polite "We're looking at someone else" anymore. They just don't call back.
