As she receives Clem's message, Snow nods as if to herself and judges that she is now out of Con's line of fire and close enough to the rear of the truck to dive for cover if necessary.  She continues to look at the leader as if she is waiting for an answer to her question, although she is pretty sure exactly what her fate would be if her companions were not here to make sure it would not happen.

Listening from inside the truck, Sam was pretty sure that the man was speaking French. Unfortunately, that wasn't a language he was overly familiar with. Should probably work on that, he thought to himself. Trying to stay low so that the newcomers couldn't see him through the windows, he slipped into the driver's seat. Snow--I'm afraid he's using a language I'm not good in. You're going to have to handle the chatting. Clem, I might be able to ram them, though I have no idea how quickly this beast can get up to speed, he sent to the group.

Give me a little time to prepare before you start shooting, Sammy texted to the group.  She then made sure she was behind the truck and cast increased reflexes.  As soon as she was ready, which didn't take all that long, she texted her readiness to the group.

The man who has been doing the talking doesn't seem terribly concerned as Clem raises her weapon, though he does stop walking. The boys to either side also stop, the one still staring at Snow while the other shifts to actually bring his weapon to a muzzle down ready.

"Yes, we have water," turning to call back to the truck "Kimbe, come here, bring water." in the local tongue.There is some shifting at the truck and three more come forward, holding containers.

The men (older teens?) come forward, each carrying a weapon and a pouch of water, they are directed in front of the leader, breaking Clem's line of sight, and stopped. 

"Please, come get water." he says in halting French to Snow.

Snow sees the potential danger coming and is unsure of what she should do, so she sends a message to the party.  >>What is my play, Boss?  From what I can understand, he has not ordered any drugs to be placed in the water, but I certainly do not trust him.<<

Still staring down the leader down the barrel of her gun, Clem replied <What does he want? I can't understand a word he is saying.>

>>So far, he has just noticed the obvious accident we have had and offered to help.  I asked him if he had any water and he had these three guys come with what looks like water bags and asked me to come get them.<<

<Tell him to leave the water skins on the ground and to back away> said Clem, not liking the situation at all.

Snow looks at the men with the water skins and continues in her broken French.  "Please leave the water bags.  I am sure that you must feel that we are a bit nervous about being out here.  I could offer you some of the small amount of money I have for the water. 

>>I am telling them that I only have a small amount of money but would pay them for the water if they leave the bags with us.<<

Sammy wasn't sure what the best way of working was, so for now she kept quiet and alert.  She, like most of the team, couldn't understand a word of what was said.
'That's what you get from these rush jobs,' she thought, 'no time to do proper legwork to make sure we have the translation software we need.'

She hoped things would be resolved quickly now, so they could continue.  This mission had started of bad and had only become worse.

"Money for water yes, and passage, protection.  You come get."

The leader waves her to him, clearly unconcerned about the shotgun.

O'Connor kept his rifle trained on the leader as he started grinding his teeth. They hadn't done anything aggressive yet, but it seemed that they were waiting to take Snow hostage before doing so. If it was solely up to him, he'd have mowed them all down by now. He really hoped Clem gave the order soon, it just seemed inevitable.

Not speaking the language, Sam couldn't be sure, but his gut told him that things weren't going well, and Snow seemed to be projecting far more nervousness, uncertainty, and general weakness than she should. Trying to think of a way to get rid of the locals, he sent a message to the group: Snow, do you have this, or want me to try something?

Snow grins and considers her options, which are not all that bad right now.  She is out in the open, but not too far from the edge of the truck.  She might be able to leap for cover, but is a bit concerned that her wounds might affect her ability to do that successfully..  She nods her head at the leader of the gang and says, "How much to get to the coast?"

  >>Right now the guy wants me to come forward to pay him for the water bags.  Not sure that is my best option.  He has offered to escort us to where we are going, and I have asked him what the cost is.  They have not proven to be hostile, but I am not sure of their intentions.  So far they have only seem women.  Do I continue this line, Boss, or do we go to a different plan?<<
