Title: The optional rule about TN changes for target size
Post by: Shinobi Killfist on <01-25-19/0228:00>
Does anyone else think these rules are a bit off. Only -3 dice for shooting a fly sized object?  Using Body+Strength to represent size and have pretty much orcs/trolls falling into vehicle size ranges?  Anyone have house rules on this?

Yes, size works like distance. Especially large objects reduce distance penalties, small ones increase them.

Honestly its pretty spot on, consider that average people that are good at their jobs have dice pools of 6 to 8, a -3 is pretty serious. Remember most shadow runners are well into super human ranges and are effectively low level super heros.

Most street sam that are rocking their fire arms dice pools of 16+ dice are getting to the point they can try and hang with Deadshot / Bulls Eye from the comics. And for adepts or the really dedicated sams that start breaking 20+ they realistically are starting to keep company with them.

I guess too me a fly sized object seems closer to an extreme range shot.  While -3 dice is a big penalty for 6-8 dice pool opponents, they will routinely make that shot. Dodging objects maybe not, but if we are talking buttons etc they are.  And for players its trivial. But also like I said the + dice pool for str+body numbers seemed off to me a orc no matter how strong isn't in the same ballpark of size as a car. And hell a extreme troll will have the str/body stats to be sized the same as a jumbo jet seems outright bizarre. Non metahumans I could see it as a guide as we would be talking juggernauts or something with those stats.
