So, I've been ransacking quite a few sites, pages on here and a few other sources but I haven't been able to find everything I need.

Can anyone give me more info on drugs. I have the 4e and 2nde core books but not much else.

Buy the 5th Edition core rulebook and Chrome Flesh. Straight up posting content like that is frowned upon, if not outright breach of copyright.

I did it more to show what I had and most of that stuff was off of Elvengilder something. I don't really have the budget to buy those. Having two newborns kinda stretches my funds.

I feel for you; tight budgets are never fun.

That still doesn't make potential copyright violation cool. I'd recommend you remove the text in spoiler tags and start saving up, and spare a thought for the writers who make their living on this hobby while you're at it.

@Black Bart - thanks for reacting and making the edits. Not sure if this may be an option, but the PDFs are pretty reasonably priced...5E is $20 while Chrome Flesh is $25. Periodically, there are sales that hit which can reduce these further (though I'm not aware of any planned in the near future).

Regards, John

You say you have the 4e core book, so maybe this PDF for $12 would help you:

It contains advanced drug rules for 4th edition Shadowrun, among other stuff.

Chrome Flesh makes drugs feasible as a central theme for a character build.  After looking through the rules, I decided to try building a drug-focused street sam.  I figured he'd be a little subpar, but with fun flavor.  Ended up going priority A attributes and Priority B resources, since drugs are so much cheaper.  Bought some low-rating cyberware as a foundation for his combat prowess then spent a ton of money on designer drugs and a few auto-injectors, took the qualities to make him more addiction resistant, and it turns out he could easily outshine a more traditional samurai once he was all jacked up, which wasn't actually all that expensive.

In a nutshell:  5th ed drugs kick ass.

Lots of drugs don't have crash effects and you have to pick drugs carefully. Don't be too afraid of that table!

But, yes, drugs can be a cost effective way to design characters to shine when they need to, as well as look a lot less chromed.

I found Kamikaze + Narco to be pretty much all I needed.

Also, if you are only combining two drugs at a time the risk is pretty minimal especially if you can swing designer grade drugs.  That would give you only a 1 in 6 chance of even a minor drawback.

True. Kamikaze in pharma grade quality + narco + nephritic screen is pretty much all you need to be an effective street monster.
