Hi all!
I'm new... and also a new gamemaster in SR...
By good luck, a copy of the 1st edition fell into my hands, and then I started playing it.
My question is: which is the skill or attribute to be used when I need the characters to spot o to listen?
Thank you a lot!

Oh geez!

Sadly 1st edition has been dead for about 30 years, and I haven't seen my 1e rulebook in over a decade :D

IF I recall right, that was covered by the perception skill.

And, as always it was a SKILL + ATTRIBUTE + DP for your total thrown dice VS whatever target number the GM assigns. (usually between 3 and 9. 3 for something noticeable, 9 for something incredibly hard).
Where am I going? And why am I in a hand basket ???

Remember: You can't fix Stupid. But you can beat on it with a 2x4 until it smartens up! Or dies.

1st edition didn't have a perception skill (and you also didn't roll skill + attribute, only skill). Instead, you used your character's Intelligence for perception checks. The perception skill didn't come around till 4e.
