Hola Omae, this is a 30 year shadowrun superfan saying goodbye.
I know my disappointment with 6e and Catalyst has bled over into my commentary on 6e in these forums and we are at a point where it's not constructive anymore.
So I am going to sign off these boards in a couple of days once I get my table's play-by-post Jialong Datahaven content moved elsewhere.
In parting I want to give kudos to the folks on this board that have made my time here enjoyable and rewarding. In no special order (and no doubt omitting many) here goes:
Fastjack, thank you for moderating with fairness
Patrick Goodman, thank you for kickstarting the 5e errata process
Jayde Moon, thank you for taking over errata and doing your best
Stainless, thank you for the discussions and your dedication to Missions
Marcus Gideon, thanks for your engagement and commentary in these forums
Xenon, thanks for being such an awesome rules dissector
Hobbes, thanks for your knowledge of the details
Pixel01, thanks for being an early brother in arms in the errata team and your overall NICENESS
AJCarrington, thank you for being such an involved mod, helping peeps on the forums get their issues resolved
Sayonara Omae, may you always shoot straight and NEVER deal with a Dragon.

Peace Brother, let me know where you settle. I totally understand your feelings on the subject, and I may end up following your example.
The board will be less without you.
Farewell where ever you fare.
-
I'm not taking this as a goodbye, because I do hope to see you back here someday (maybe 7E!).
-
Thank you for your service.
-
Sometimes a break is needed.
Take care and hopefully see you down the road.
-
Niceness? O.o ... well I try to be.
Catch you around, chummer
-
Aw, here's wishing you more fun to have with the stuff & people you have.
-
I sympathize with, and share, your sentiments man. I hope that what you re-invest the time into brings you fulfillment.
-
Sad it’s come to this, but understand your position. I’m sure I’ll run into you on Reddit ;)
-
Editions come and go, but the game goes on. As one 30-year superfan to another, I hope this ain't the end. See you in 7E, if not before.
-
yeah, I had my "I'm done with Shadowrun forever" moment when 4e came around.
Forever didn't last as long as I thought it might.
-
Enjoy the break and see you in the Reddits!
-
Later adzling. I understand how you feel. I will more than likely be hiding in the dark corners here, aka Old Edition sections. Later man!

...thinking of packing up my kit and riding into the sunset myself. After what I have "officially" heard and seen concerning the details of 6E (and not just here, the on Shadowcasters Net. or hre in discussions), I have no interest or desire to play in it. I have said my peace on the matter, ruffled some feathers in the process (apologies), but stick with my convictions.
I have been involved with Shadowrun since it was first released 30 years ago, I feel this is a move in the wrong direction.
My two zlotys worth, take it or leave it.

Yeah, sad to see people this involved go. I’ve been playing since 1e. Pretty damn consistently. 5e I stopped for most of 5e as I thought it was just a worse 4eA and so poorly edited it was hard to follow I got back in about a year ago. 6e manages to look even worse than 5e to me, not just bad editing and a few bad ideas but bad ideas at its core. After I wrap up this 5e campaign probably close to the end of the year I’ll switch to being a player for a bit, probably d&d depends on what the group and GM wants I guess. If after that campaign it looks like 6e fixed itself I’ll hop back in. Otherwise if I run shadowrun it will be a older edition or using a different rule set.

so poorly edited it was hard to follow
I feel these feelings. I'm happy with 5e overall, I think it has some good ideas and I certainly wouldn't go back to 2e (my previous version.) But I had to read the book cover to cover half a dozen times while constantly thinking "dang, did RPGs get hard since I last played 20 years ago? Or did I get real stupid?" I eventually came to conclusion that It's Not Me, It's You but it sure bruised my ego first.

Sbame to see the old hands disappearing. I've been playing since 3e on and off and have gone with carbon 2185 instead of shadowrun 6e. Just not seeing the things I want fixed getting fixed here
-
So long, chummer.
I have only been on the forums for a little while, but your commentary was always fun to read. Hopefully you'll be back someday...

I've more lurked here than posted, but I've been around for a long time. I think first on ShadowRN, hiding under Gurth's stairs. I've been hoping that the issues with 5e were due to the sudden departure of writers and having substituting content. With 6e, I am still reserving judgement, but it seems to be 6e is Shadowrun's D&D 4e, potentially a good game if it was for a different franchise. I have been feeling out of place since the community division that followed the transition of Jason Hardy* after Rob Boyle.
Whatever the outcome, I'll be around, missing the days of Mike Mulvihill, Steve Kenson, Jon Szeto, Adam Jury, Rob Boyle, and Lady Jester, and so many more.
Good luck, Adzling.
*This isn't a criticism of Jason Hardy, but standing up two official forums in addition to Dumpshock was, in my opinion, a central part of the fragmenting the community.
