Shadowrun General > The Secret History
Mayan Cutter
Longshot23:
I'm not sure this belongs under Secret History, but . . .
Can anyone shed any light on the Mayan Cutter, referenced in a couple of SR4 books? I would have liked to see a published adventure dealing with this.
As far as I can tell, there are a number of possibilities:
1. It was a cover for Lone Star rednecks getting their jollies by cacking orks.
2. It was a frame job, quite possibly by Ares/Knight Errant, to discredit LS in Seattle and get KE the contract.
3. It was a personafix/reality filter; someone (several someones?) was programmed to kill - like what apparently happened with Transys Neuronet and HKB in the 2050s.
4. the Mayan Cutter is still out there . . .
Thoughts and/or alternatives?
FastJack:
Wasn't this the one in Threats/Threats 2? where a shedim or something similar was possessing people and using them to kill?
(having books packed away on the move sucks sometimes...)
Caine Hazen:
The Missions series also touched on this last year in their CMPs (Convention MIssions Packs) there was a one shot that followed up on some of the news.
Don't have all mybooks at work tough, so I can't refernece more than that ;)

Maybe it has something to do with the Shella? Who was given a throw away comment in Vice about maybe being back and was detailed in Prime Runners as some kinda of possession/make you eat people spirit.
Although, the frame job seems possible as well. Maybe it's just a loony bloodmage on the loose.
Kot:
Or just an ordinary serial killer...
