Just wanted to send a huge "Thank You" to the Catalyst team for the great time I had playing the Tennessee missions this weekend at GenCon. All four games were fun, the GM's did a great job keeping things moving and the people I had the pleasure of gaming with were lots of fun and I hope to play with them again someday! I think my favorite mission was #4 "Leaving Tennessee" but really they were all fun.

Already looking forward to next year!

Well once you toss in Make-A-Wish, a small child with guns, an ork with a camera, and a yappie dog - how can you not have fun ?

I still want to see the character sheet for the midget assassin of doom.

Yes, this run will live long in my memory for those reasons. And we never did get the story on why he came up with that character. He promised to tell us when we were done and I forgot to hold him to that. I felt like I let most of my groups down, everyone else had some kind of variations on the different kinds of runners and Dagger was "just a decker". Maybe next year I will try to top the midget assassin of doom LOL

So, I am the person that played Cherry Bomb. You guys and everyone else at the table were an absolute blast to play with, that was one hell of a table. Shame we lost the two other guys. Their loss they missed a great show though. I still feel terrible for gassing down Ice Queen, I had tried to get far enough away that it wouldn't catch anyone else. >.<

For topic one, the background, this character is the logical extension of a joke that happened at Origins. Long story short at Origins the GMs got together and played a session of Friendship is Tragic, the April Fools run (it's amazing play it if you can) and during prep I asked a simple question. "How disturbing should I make this character." To which the answer given was and I quote. "Go big or go home." Thus was born 'Tara Schlong' a 350 karma ~700,000 NuYen piece of comedy gold (I burned all my GM Karma for several years on this joke). The character was so effective as a groan factory just the concept remains banned by some GMs (you know who you are :3).

The character concept itself was actually not terrible and so I ran with it and on my lengthy drive home fleshed out Eiko "Cherry Bomb" Yomura, a burned Shiawase wet work specialist turned Shadowrunner on the run from the corp. The idea was to make a character who could get to places where she shouldn't be able to without people questioning her presence, or if they did being able to explain it away. She is designed in many ways to work as a solo operative (like at this table) or in tandem with another character (Fire Cracker) run by a friend.

To see the character's .chum file and character sheet you can head over to the subreddit Runnerhub (reddit.com/r/runnerhub) the character itself may be found on /r/hubchargen (https://www.reddit.com/r/hubchargen/comments/3fpyd0/cherry_bomb_social_infiltration_and_wet_work/) this includes the sheet and the chummer file. This version is slightly modified and optimized, down to a 0.02 essence, this time around.

As the guy who wrote the Tennessee Suite adventures, I'm very glad to see you had a good time playing them! Real credit goes to your GM of course, but I'm happy to have made a framework they could create fun with.

Wow, Rhaive, that is an awesome origin story, thanks for sharing it. I really was pissed that I had forgotten to ask . . .  and now I know  :)
And don't worry too much about Ice Queen, we didn't leave her behind and it added to the suspense!

You know you're gonna have to let me in on this one, right?

basically read it like this:

Belker likes to kill PC's, or at least make them use their edge in creative ways.... Like burning them to stay alive!

When i ran Tennessee Suite 2: Rolling on the River i claimed 5 points of burnt edge from the group, and 2 were from the same person. I dont think any of those 4 missions can be considered "friendly to players" aside from #4, that one is unique with how you start out negotiating..... Interesting twist on it.

I've only played 1 and 4.

1 had an interesting introduction.  I've heard horror stories of people trying interesting things over the tree-tops.  We had a sniper that murdered the hillbilly encampment.  Pop. Pop.

Part 4 ... well.   Yeah.

I maintain the most evil thing I included in the four is Lucy's dog.

Is it a bad thing that our group liked the dog, then?  ;D Well, except the one that looked like a 6 year old girl but in all fairness she had allergies . . .
