Part of me misses those immensely complicated legal tables in the early books.  Given that high-end clothing and various light caliber weapons market themselves for the well-heeled crowd, I can't imagine that it's an automatic faus pas.  Sure, a certain Johnson might request it or you might be going to a club with a no-weapons rule, but unless I'm in London or Tokyo (/shudders at the memories), I figure it's not a deal breaker.

Quote from:  Gun H(e)aven 3 p.9
The weapon is shipped with a detachable sound suppressor, allowing the user to reduce their audio signature at the expense of concealment.
Standard Upgrades/Accessories: Sound Suppressor
Ok.  I see.  You were focusing on the INTEGRATED part.
I thought you were saying it didn't include a suppressor at all.  Which of course made me go, HUH?

BOD: 4, AGI: 5 REA: 4 (5 augmented)  STR:2

Skills: Priority C

Skill Points allocated to weapon skills: 4 (currently Pistols specialised in Semiautomatics which covers a good number of light and heavy pistols)  for a base pool of 8 (10) w/o Smartlink bonus.

Were she to take automatics, at best (without specialisation) her base pool would be 9  w/o Smartlink bonus.

The character has a Smartlink implant with the rest of her augmentation being Bioware and Genemods which are more essence friendly and thus don't impact her Social Limit as much.

No way to free up 3 more skill points?
5 Agi is great, if you were packing 6+Spec+SGL & would say Pistols all the way w/o a doubt.
12 Dice when Wireless is solid, but 15 would be oh so much better.
..again, as I mentioned, she already has a few runs under her belt so I cannot shuffle points around.  I now can only improve the character through Karma and nuyen.

Always been a fan of concealed pieces for face chars. Holdouts like the streetline special for MAD detectors, Tasers for.high class city areas and heavy pistols for the shitter end of town.
All about pistols class for me :-)
...that is sort of my route of thinking.  Concealable holdout or light pistol with drug/toxin capsule rounds for more secure areas and meets, heavy pistol for "out in the field".

Granted, tasers are inexpensive. As her pistols skill is specialised in Semiautomatics, the Pulsar would be the better choice even though it has a slightly lower DV than the Shocker.  Add an internal smartlink and she would have Accuracy of 7, with wireless, a pool of 12.  Drop some karma into the base skill and then she'd be at 12 (14 with Smartlink)

I still don't get why exactly someone would be worried or surprised that people are concealed carrying guns at meets in restaurants, clubs, etc. Barring, like, taking them into a corporate office tower.

Again I'm American so I've come to terms with the fact that people are concealed carrying if not open carrying literally everywhere I go in public. Maybe some other countries would care but I can't see it being an issue in Seattle, UCAS, CAS, Denver...
The idea is not to borrow trouble, Whiskey. Clubs and other meets may want people to check their weapons at the door. Some may disallow them entirely. Some jurisdictions have stricter laws than others. And then there's good, old-fashioned racism/classism. Corpsec or Knight with a bad attitude sees you carrying a weapon openly, they can decide you 'look suspicious', and run your SIN and licenses to make sure they check out, maybe even stop you, searching for 'contraband'. And that's before we get into dirty cops looking for bribes, or just wanting to bust up some metas. And while most SINless are going to be packing, how many neat and clean sararimen are going to be? And if you're looking to blend in (pro tip: you really should be, until it is time not to), then you're going to need to at least look like you're no more armed than the rest of the wageslaves.

...this is why my character has picked up several different sets of normal and high fashion armour clothing so she can fit into most situations.

...this is why my character has picked up several different sets of normal and high fashion armour clothing so she can fit into most situations.
And who says kids these days can't learn things! ;)

Seriously, though, different armor and weapon loadouts are key. Especially when you're the guy who is supposed to go in and do all the talking. Here's how I usually break things down:

Casual - Your day to day. Not working, or just out doing legwork. Low risk stuff, so you want things that don't stand out and don't give people reason to take undue interest in you. Lined coat and a pistol, maybe a knife as well if you've got the skill. Keep it as close to legal as possible.

Clubbing - When you're out on the town, or pulling off a meet or con in a party environment. Not expecting heavy action. Form-fitting body armor, or maybe a Second Skin, depending on taste, with either a taser or light pistol (something that won't raise eyebrows if you have to check it at the door), and maybe something concealed if you are expecting trouble.

Working - Your normal 'working' loadout. Armor that is street-legal and doesn't draw too much attention, the ballistic mask for when the trouble starts, pistols with multiple extra clips, smoke or flashbang grenades for covering a quick exit, and so on.

Assault - You know those times when you work your magic and talk your way through Arcology security? This is for those other times, when the best (or only remaining) option is to go in fast and hard. Heaviest weapons you can manage, with plenty of ammo and armor that leaves no question as to what you're doing here.

Businessman - Infiltrating a corporate office or trying to blend in at a diner catering to sararimen. Similar load to clubbing, but with more of an eye to concealed weapons or weapons hidden inside other (shielded) objects.

Society - Bust out your Zoe and Armante threads, and leave the heavy weapons at home. If you're able to sneak anything more than a light pistol with a single spare clip in, count yourself lucky. High fashion armor or second skins mandatory. Try to avoid combat if at all possible, since the bodyguards WILL be packing. It is easier to dodge questions than bullets.

Slumming - What you wear when you're going to the Barrens and don't want to look like a Suit or an easy mark, but don't want to force people to challenge you. Armor, openly carried heavy pistol, maybe some grenades in the open as well, and so on. Enough to avoid problems, not so much that whoever does the local 'protection' takes an unhealthy interest in your arsenal.

Now, there's a lot of overlap in these things, and that's fine. Some of it is covered in your lifestyle, especially if you go High or higher. Some might not apply to your character at all. But try to keep your weapons and armor in line with what you're expecting. This is the secondary reason to have multiple weapons. The primary reason is because Murphy is a stone cold bastard, and you're better off planning to have backups for your backups.

+1 for Mirikon's advice.  I love the fiddly aspects of games, so I spent far too much time tweaking my characters' loadouts, but it can make a big difference in-game.
