Got into a discussion about Exceptional Attribute and it's cap of 10.

Is the purpose of this to effectively lock the maximum possible unaugmented attribute maximums for all characters to 10? Kind of like an unspoken design rule for 6E?

Because from a rules design viewpoint I can't see another reason for it. It has no effect on any Corebook characters as none would have a natural unaugmented max above 9 anyway. So it had to have been targeted at possible future metavariants that might have higher natural maximums.

Thoughts?

Where is this cap of 10 listed?  It's not in the latest text for Exceptional (Attribute) quality in the Seattle edition of the CRB, and I didn't find it in the FAQ.

Huh. Well. nevermind then, they removed it in the Seattle edition.

It didn't make sense when it was published in the first printing, now I'm wondering if it had been left over from a draft where you could take it more than one time per attribute.

This was addressed already in the official Feb 2020 Errata.
