Anime / manga? Vampire Hunter D. It even translates fairly well into a run.

Okay - a lot have been mentioned already - so I won't say these are my top ten - just some to add flavor to the game.  :)

Eastern Promises - Fairly specific, but if you want some organized crime (especially for the Vory)
Brainstorm - simsense anyone?
Westworld/Futureworld - it's not the Renraku Arcology, but still...
Predator - mercs
Alien(s) - da bugs
Terminator franchise - corps and AI
Serpent and the Rainbow - voodoo
2001 - AI
Running Man - Surely this is already the basis for a trid out there!
War Games - AI
AI - ummm...AI and lots of robots
Max Headroom series - Mega Media Networks --- who are you kidding they're MegaCorps!
The Jackal - spies/mercs
Now You See Me - heists and a GM guide to plots within plots  ;)
Oceans 11/12/13 - heists and misdirection
The Italian Job - heists
La Femme Nikita(movie and series) - why do I need to take the run? Oh, well, yeah...when you put it that way...
Final Fantasy - dudes...orbital laser?  ;D
Battlestar Galactica - clones, clones, clones
Starship Troopers - bugs and lot's of weapons, read the book if you want cool ideas for mechanized armor
Virus - AI - sort of...not a great movie, but if you want to build some horror into your AI...there ya go.
Portal1/2 - AI and there's cake!
Metropolis - haves and have nots
Cyborg and Universal Soldier - yeah, I know...but still cyberzombies?
Firefly and Serenity - awesome - the Alliance = Megacorps

Ummm...hmmmm....looking back through the list, it's rather eclectic...my brain is kind of random. Anyway, since you all took the good Shadowrun reference movies, think of this list as plot development! ;D
[edit - movie title error!]

I didn't see anyone mention Strange Days yet. A great movie about SimSense.

Mad Max trilogy. I'm very confident that Chicago and other feral cities are loosely based off of the Mad Max universe.

Renaissance (2006). I don't remember what this movie was about anymore. But I know it was cyberpunk, and that's good enough for me.

Oddly, I'd say Game of Thrones. But like a medieval shadow run.

We've got a few riggers, a mage summoning demons, a couple physical adepts and the start of cyberware.

On more serious notes..

Ghost in the Shell - Riggers and Cyberware and Drones, Hackers and other things.
Robocop - Corp ran, total cyborgization
Appleseed - Much like Ghost in the Shell.
Repomen - More cyberware stuff
Outlaw Star - Magic, Cyberware, Babes and Space
I'll find more..
Concepts are great, but implementation sucks. Why not improve it?

I did mention Strange Days! ;)

Firefly is cowboy sci-fi
Really good :)
The new MMO Wildstar (that is currently in open beta) have a serious Firefly feeling over it.

Fun fact:
Neuromancer have a reference to the Escape from New York

Split Second with Rutger Hauer. Doesnt quite hold up with age but still cool.

Kudos for mentioning Death Machine, that movie is quite literaly a run gone awry (plus cool and likeable runners, Yutani is a beast  8))

Thanks! It is one you will definitely enjoy - ended to soon.

LOL! You said it!  8)

Another movie I just thought of from the early 90s was:

Freejack -- Dystopian future + a plot that seems potentially relevant in 5th edition  ;) Based on a novella (extremely loosely) by Robert Sheckley.

Raid: Redemption.  Sometimes runs in the CZ go really really sidewise.

Not a movie, but the early seasons of Burn Notice. Shows the difference between professionals and thugs.
