I've expanded the back story to involve the Rolling Thunder go gang of Puyallup.
After the Great Ghost Dance, the Salish invited the metahumans (and the Crow) into their lands to help repopulate and otherwise recover from the multiple volcanic eruptions. The Salish have never had a problem with the concept of slavery, so these newcomers were little better than serfs. The Crow however brought a tribal unity and got full tribal status early on. That spurred other groups to stand together. Then the Sinserach violently seized the area now known as Tir Tairngire, the Salish put a stop to that sort of political/tribal dissent and locked in the tribes that exist today. That included the ragtag group of Orks, Trolls and Dwarves known as the Cascade Orks. Keep in mind that these metahumans weren't Natives, they were refugees from the inner cities of North America. The dwarves, who were born that way and didn't goblinize like orks, got fed up with the direction the orks were going and bailed into the Barrens of the Seattle Metroplex.
In Puyallup, the dwarves used the training in disaster cleanup to clear the area around Thun Field airport. From there, they got labor contracts to demolish and excavate for the Arcology and the leveling of Cougar Mountain in Bellevue. In light of the Night of Rage, some of the dwarves became protectors, shuttling the Dwarven work crews out of their base in Thun Field. They became known as Rolling Thunder and Thun Field became Thunder Field.
The dwarves didn't always get a fair shake when it came to corps honoring their contracts, so some of the labor opted for more direct enforcement. A schism erupted between the two factions and the Red Hot Nukes got banished from the Thunder Field collective. Now they patrol the Sammamish valley making a living with their demolition skills.
