It's not much, but according to the Origins Event info, here is some of what we have to look forward to being released this summer:

CMP 2018-01 Viva Las Vegas: Dead Manís Hand
The team is called out to Las Vegas to help a gambler out with a goon issue. When the Johnson doesnít show up for the meet, they only have so long before their paycheck becomes a mirage.
CMP 2018-02: Viva Las Vegas: Youíre Nobody till Somebody Loves You
The heart wants what it wants, but there are those who donít approve of this union. The team is hired to extract a mafia princess from the family, but is it love or leverage Mr. J is looking for?
CMP 2018-03 Viva Las Vegas: Sin City Sabotage
A new resort is opening up on the strip, and the VIP weekend is coming up. Mr Johnson wants you to make this a particularly memorable event for all the investors.
CMP 2018-04 Viva Las Vegas: Ainít That a Kick in the Head?
In Las Vegas, a single night out can make or break anyone. Mr Johnson decides to let it ride on the runners, in a bid to knock over a casino. The security may be state of the art, but a single pull of the lever can change a life.

CMP 2018-05 Cerulean Shadows: Letter of Marque
Cargo ships are turning up missing on their way to Metropole, and the owners arenít too happy about it.  The team is hired to crew a decoy vessel in order to capture the elusive Pirate before they can strike again.
CMP 2018-06 Cerulean Shadows: Honor Amongst Thieves
Business is business, right? The team gets an interesting offer from someone they just had arrested. A little nuyen goes a long way toward forgiveness.
CMP 2018-07 Cerulean Shadows: No Prey, No Pay
An offer comes in from an independent Johnson looking to turn the screws on some of the shipping corporations operating in the Caribbean, and hopefully fund out why boatloads of people have gone missing. Taking down a cargo ship, the team finds more than they signed on for.
CMP 2018-08 Cerulean Shadows: X Marks the Spot
Nothing stays hidden forever. Even the best kept secrets eventually come to light. A mysterious private island with a corporate facility, and hundreds of brainwashed prisoners stand between the runners and a real payday.

SRM 09-01 Started from the Bottom
When you are new to the shadows of Neo Tokyo, without much in the way of reputation or established contacts, the work that comes your way feels beneath your talent. But this is Neo-Tokyo and you start from the bottom.
SRM 09-02 Finders Keepers
Tanaka-san has lost something and needs it retrieved. He won't tell you what it is, where to get it, or even reveal himself. Can you prove your worth and uncover the mystery?
SRM 09-03 Learning Little from Victory
Honor is life in Neo-Tokyo; how do you hold on to yours when Tanaka-san asks you to get involved in local politics? Can you put your candidate on the path to victory without losing face in front of new Ďfriendsí?
SRM 09-04 Neo-Tokyo Drift
The street racing scene of Neo-Tokyo is reknown worldwide so when the team is asked to get involved they jump right in. What happens when the stakes get higher and higher on the unforgiving streets?
SRM 09-05 Violent Shadows
Tanaka-san needs an inconspicuous crew to rescue a missing child, but his Yakuza rivals are already a step ahead. Do you rescue the child for Tanaka or will you turn him over to the rival faction?
 SRM 09-06 Seven Breaths
War in the streets is threatening to boil over when an opportunity arises to bring it back to a simmer. Pick your preferred losers but donít take too long as time is short.

If I am reading the FAQ right, the Season 9 SRMs are new character only, but the Origins CMPs being 2018 can still be played by Season 5 to 8 characters?

That is how I and a lot of others read it as well, but we are incorrect. A member of the FAQ team came in to tell us that all of it is for brand new PCs. You can find the thread here: https://forums.shadowruntabletop.com/index.php?topic=27133.0

They just need to clean the wording up some.

Okay. That confusing. Needs to be fixed in the FAQ.

Thanks,

In an earlier draft of the FAQ you could, thus my earlier question.

It seem the latest draft has restricted pre-NeoTokyo characters to 2017 Missions and earlier. They also added this info to Character Creation, instead of just being in the Prime Runners section.

By Jayde Moon's latest reply, Prime Runners from Chicago Season can play in any CMP dated 2017 or later, as well as any PM or SMH. So some Chicago vets will see a fair bit of action in the Neo-Tokyo season.

That CMPs are included still is not reflected in the FAQ.

"Prime Runners are eligible to play in any Prime Mission, which are designed for advanced characters, and any Special Missions. Prime Runners from Season 4 or earlier may not play in the main Shadowrun Missions line for 5th edition (Seasons 5-12 or CMPs) but may play in all current and future PMs and SMHs. Prime Runners from the Chicago Missions campaign may play all Season 5 Ė 8 SRMs, CMPs from 2017 and older, and all PMs and SMHs. Prime Runners from the Neo-Tokyo Missions campaign may only continue play in PMs and SMHs, but are not limited to which PMs and SMHs they play in."

Bold mine

Clearly not later, then.

Oh, I see how I read that. Older than 2017 somehow translated to higher than 2017 in my brain.

No sadness actually. It is a way better decision to cut those PCs off than deal with the headache of them potentially at a table with new PCs. Letting them be dusted off for PMs and SMHs is more than enough.

I have more than enough concepts for new PCs. The hard part is just deciding which to focus on!
