Mystic Weave creates a threshold equal to its rating for all mana-based spells cast on a target but also imposes a negative dice pool modifier on all Magic-related tests equal to double its rating for any magician wearing the armor.

This may not need errata but might need clarification. The target performs a defense test and normally would have damage equal to net hits by the caster. In this case, does the threshold because of Mystic Weave reduce net hits or does it do "full damage" if it exceeds the threshold.

yeah iirc that's the instance that got my goat on the basis of adding a threshold to opposed tests.
RPG mechanics exist to give structure and consistency to the game world, true, but at the end of the day, you’re fighting dragons with algebra and random number generators.

So an option would be to just convert it to a dice pool bonus. Rating 1 and 2 don't help anyone at the cost of 10,000 nuyen and 20,000 nuyen.

Saying that it subtracts a number of hits equal to rating is giving the same mechanical effect as a threshold, without adding a threshold.

Giving extra dice could work, but it'd be nerfing the overall effectiveness.  I'd prefer to just reword the "threshold" to not say threshold.
