This looks promising : http://www.miniaturemarket.com/cat27702.html
It seems really too close of the mission contest, so i guess that maybe the launch dates will be changed.
Let's hope an official announcement will be made soon, so i can preorder it from my FLGS. :)
-
looks exciting! I'll keep my fingers crossed that this isn't some ploy to get our pre order money a year out. I'm lookin at you Witcher 3 *glare*
-
Hey I'd be happy if more companies just sat down and said "hey look, we're doing a really big game here, so sorry about this, but we need more time just to keep polishing the game to make it as good as we can on release rather than giving you guys some buggy pile of crap we'll patch later"
That and sxtra time made it much easier to pay off my Collector's Edition (I want my Witcher amulet damnit!)

So true... but then again, that Fallout 4 game is taking waayyyy too much time and I'm not sure it will be bug-free (if it ever comes out).
(I need my Fallout fix darn it!)
(Just a little OOT but anyway...) :P

Voting just closed for the mission contest, so hopefully we'll hear new expansion details soon. ;D

Video gaming world is too much filled of sequels that never come :( Let me add Mirror's Edge 2 to the list (but at least there are confirmations that it's being made).
Back to the thread : some news about Crossfire's new expansion would be really great. :) :)
-
New Expansion, Yes please!
-
FRPGames are now listing an expansion on their site called "Shadowrun: Crossfire Mission Expansion Pack 1: High Caliber Ops" Releases: 2015-07-31

This is good news. Thanks for the info. Time to write to my FLGS! :)
-
As usual, please keep this in mind:
Any dates not released by Catalyst are at best guesses, at worst outright fabrication.

Oh, thanks for the info. Here I thought the date was indicated because Catalyst informed the store of the actual release date... Well, I guess I should wait for Catalyst to make an official annoucement. :(

But knowing that work is being done. Knowing that the Crossfire contest was moving forward. That the OP is being put into place, would help the community to get behind a product. The complete lack of any information has hurt this game considerably. I fully understand the need to not give out ship or release dates until the product is in the hands of the distributers, or at least in route to them, but some info, some news that a game has not been abandoned by its publishers has to happen.
Please accept that there is a SR community that needs communication. Playing games is a social activity. Talk to us.

Not sure where you get your information, but I was at two different game stores on International Board Game Day yesterday, and both stores were running at least one table playing Crossfire for hours. So... anecdotal at best?

The contest that was hosted by Catalyst a couple months ago didn't clue you in that the game hasn't been abandoned?
Please accept that there is a SR community that needs communication. Playing games is a social activity. Talk to us.
PeterSmith is not a community liaison. He operates on the storefront level, and so is just as at the whim of Catalyst as anyone else. Not really sure why you feel the need to single him out and make him into the target of your misguided nerdrage.

Humm, there seems 2 expansions will be launched?
Corporate Raid Expansion : http://www.miniaturemarket.com/cat27702.html
High Caliber Ops missions pack : http://www.miniaturemarket.com/catalog/product/view/id/44140/s/cat27703/
I am really eager to get some news soon. :) :) And maybe we will get to know the missions contest results (many nice missions fans were offered, it was great to participate and to play the other participants's missions).
-
Well, I guess it does exist:
Crossfire Expansion Art (http://catalystgamelabs.tumblr.com/post/116660349801/crossfire-expansion-art)

This is simply awesome work by Victor Moreno, IMHO ;D
-
That is very fantastic. I love the little details, from the patches on the elf's shoulders to the buckles on his wrist.
-
Most interesting
"Development is all done for the first meaty Crossfire expansion"
If development is done, based on this model http://gamesalute.com/LifeAndTimes how long will we see it in stores? And what is the definition of "meaty"
Looking at the picture,is it just me of is that elf look a little like John Malkovich?
-

ROFL He totally does! I hadn't noticed that, but now I'll never un-see it. :)
-
Or Christopher Lloyd also? ;) Now we have the proof that 6th World has already begun in Hollywood :p
-
Just to add to the July 31 rumor, i saw an entry for Shadowrun: Crossfire Mission Expansion Pack 1: High Caliber Ops in a "for retailers" magazine saying it is scheduled to ship in July 2015.
Product number CAT-27703. ;D
-
Thanks! This is great news. Now if only it would be okay to pre-order it from my game store. The product number seems to be the same than the one stated earlier in April. I just hope it is not a imple copy-paste from the entry in the linked websites.
It would be nice to have an official annoucement about the upcoming expansion(s), with official dates of releases, numbers of releases (there seems to be 2 different expansion), confirmation of the product number, etc. ;D ;D
Yeah, I am pretty eager hehe.

I already did. It wasn't in their system yet but my game store took the information that was available and wrote a note in their pre-order system. Can't wait. :)

Over on Theology of Games they've posted a review (http://www.theologyofgames.com/theology-of-games/2015/3/22/we-got-stranded-a-double-take-review-of-shadowrun-crossfire) of Shadowrun: Crossfire and have a little contest running to win a copy of the forthcoming expansion. ;D

Shadowrun: Crossfire Character Expansion Pack 1 is not the forthcoming expansion but still, it is a nice contest. :)
-
Indeed, it's the first expansion in the previously mentionned contest. :)
The two expansions are still showed in the Miniature Market website (Corporate Raid and High Caliber Ops). I might do as Daclown and preorder them anyway from my FLGS and I'll see.
(still hoping to see that Las Vegas promo missions and cards, oh yes still hoping ;D )
-
Since I've mentionned the Las Vegas mini-expansion promo... There are some copies on Ebay : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shadowrun-Crossfire-Las-Vegas-GAMA-Promo-Pack-Sealed-/221765666907?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33a243885b
Waaayyy too expensive unfortunately, for what it contains. I would have bought at a more reasonable price... oh well :(

Good catch there...sorry about that...wishful thinking and all ;)

From http://shadowrun.tumblr.com/
High Caliber Ops
an expansion for Shadowrun: Crossfire is well underway…but still too early to confirm dates. It should include two new role cards as well as missions, black market and obstacle cards.
-
Much more info now. Only thing mission is a release date, info that will come soon according to this Tumblr post : http://catalystgamelabs.tumblr.com/post/119482852606/a-shadowrun-crossfire-expansion-is-coming
Quote from that page :
"High Caliber Ops is a massive expansion for the award-winning Shadowrun: Crossfire deck-building game. How massive? How does two new character roles, more than a dozen new Black Market cards, fifty new obstacles, and a large bundle of new Karma upgrades sound? On top of that, we’ve got five brand-new missions, and a set of basic cards with new art."
I am really looking forward to it!
-
As you guys have already beat me to it, will just post up the snap shot of the cover:
-
Work is progressing...from FB (https://www.facebook.com/shadowruntabletopgame/posts/10153326943224591):
Just need some flavor text, then the first of the Crossfire OP materials heads to layout; now for some Valiant card game flavor text. rnb
-
Find myself deeply curios if the two new roles are alternate colours, or new colours.
-
Questions to the developpers (if they can answer them at this point of course):
1. How many cards the expansion will have? I would like to buy the same sleeves than the the ones I am currently using and I would like to know how many.
2. What are the "difficulties" of the new missions? Is it the same difficulty than The Ork Underground (i.e. 30 karma) or as in Dragon Fight (70 karma+)?
:)
-

We asked ourselves the same question, my group and i, and we came to the conclusion that it will probably be the same colors because adding new colors would render obsolete every obstacle already in the game.
Also, it is a little bit logical to have, for example, a Rigger using hack cards or a Shaman using spell cards. :)
-
So I demoed Crossfire non-stop this week at Origins (Literally, I rarely had more than 5 minutes between demos, and usually had no time between, all weekend, and I ran non-stop from the time the hall opened till it closed all four days. Fantastic interest in the game still.) And I was given a few tidbits of info to share with folks I demoed for, and that I can now share here:
First off, we're hoping to have the game at Gen Con. Of course, that is barring printers exploding, delivery and transportation malfunctions and strikes, etc. So it's not a "We WILL HAVE THIS at Gen Con!" but a "Should the stars all align and favor us, we hope to have it at the con." So no one is allowed to get upset or lynch me if it's not there. :)
Anyway, there are two new roles. From what I was told, these are a hybrid role utilizing the existing role colors. I may have the names slightly wrong, but I believe the roles are a Social Adept and a Combat Rigger. So a Red/Blue hybrid and a Green/Black Hybrid. The exact makeup of the starting deck, I don't know, but that's how they were explained to me.
Beyond that, there are supposed to be new cards all around: New crossfire events, new obstacles, new Scenarios, and new Black Market cards.
So it should be a really nice expansion. :)
-
Nice!!! but I want it now
-
nice, thanks for the insight Bull!
And yeah.... I think almost everyone wants it more now :P
-
Thank you Bull for those news. This indeed looks like a really nice expansion.
-
I thought I would share some links since maybe not everyone visit the other sections of the forum (you should! lol).
AJ shared announcements about the new expansion (similar to what is already known, but now there is a thread about it in the general products hehe) : http://forums.shadowruntabletop.com/index.php?topic=21291.0
Also, a new character expansion pack is coming with characters from Shadowrun metaplot, which might greatly interest me: http://forums.shadowruntabletop.com/index.php?topic=21288.0
Thanks to AJ for sharing info :)
-
Just to add to the new expansion pack rumors, i saw somewhere entries for Shadowrun: Crossfire Mission Expansion Pack 2: Corp Raid and Shadowrun: Crossfire Character Expansion Pack 2: Street Legends saying it is scheduled to ship in October 2015.
Product number CAT-27702 for Corp Raid and CAT-27704 for Street Legends.
(Again, this is not a confirmed information, just some digging on my part)
-
Some pre-release copies should be available at Gen Con. I should be running demos with them. :)
-

Damn it. Now i wish i knew someone who's going the Gen Con. :(
Do you know if there is gonna be some exclusive stuff like at GAMA?
-
Do you know if there is gonna be some exclusive stuff like at GAMA?
You mean GTS, the GAMA Trade Show (GAMA is the company, GTS is the convention :)) in Las Vegas in March or so? Not sure. I know last year there was a Vegas exclusive set of cards and stickers that was only available there. Dunno what they'll have this year.
And while there may be some promo stuff at gen Con (I don;t know what we have yet), the sets mentioned above are strictly an early release, not an exclusive (Basically, we're having the first X boxes of the print run rush-packed and express shipped before the rest of the run is printed/sorted/boxed to have it available at the show.)
-
Any news from Gen Con on the expansions?
-
Looks like the Shadowrun: Crossfire Street Legends Character expansion 2 pack is bring sold there https://instagram.com/p/5zpPHTDJl2/

This is correct, we had some packs show up as part of the Tuesday product load-in. They were sold out on Thursday, a few hours into the show on Friday we received another few boxes of them. As of this morning we still have them, however I do not have a count so I cannot estimate how long they'll last.
If you want them from the show, I suggest you get them early in the con hours.
High Caliber Ops did not make the show, and it looks like it will not make the show.
-
Any street dates for those two expansions?
-
I heard High Caliber is ~5 weeks out, but it was secondhand, so take it with a grain of salt.
-
Yes, Peter said Legends 2 is shipping but High Caliber is ~5 weeks away because of the printer.
-
The GenCon copies of Street Legends were POD batches, not off of the main run.
-
From https://www.facebook.com/shadowruntabletopgame?fref=nf
Shadowrun: Crossfire High-Caliber Ops final production copy arrived. Wish we’d had it at Gen Con, but it still looks great-photos coming rnb
-
Any further word on this?
-
Yes, it has arrived. A lot of the new stuff is pretty nice.
-
I love it.
Is it just me, or does anyone else think including the new cards and options makes winning Crossfire a little easier?
Also, don't the new Y8 cards seem to be actually more powerful than the Y9 cards?
Not complaining - just wondering if anyone else had had that impression.
-
I haven't gotten an opportunity to play yet, so take my thoughts with a bit larger pinch of salt than usual.
It looks like the new upgrades will add a bit more flavor and make it possible to avoid bad card flips (replacing an obstacle or a black market card with the right upgrade). A lot more obstacles that get black market cards replaced as well. My group was considering a house rule to deal with the black market being full of duplicate cards, so I'm glad to see an official solution.
The new obstacles were lower-nuyen value than I expected for their power when I compared them to similar cards. One I remember takes 3 or 4 players' turns to defeat (can only take out 2 levels per turn), which is pretty brutal. The wrecks will also serve to increase the crossfire level without adding much nuyen.
It looks like they are trying to increase the average difficulty of the game, but allow the players to cap the maximum difficulty? We usually win (mostly board/card game players, not shadowrun players), so that isn't a complaint.
Most of the runs are low-karma runs, despite the description of the expansion being about experienced characters and high power. One (maybe 2) good starting run is all that you should need. At least these scale, unlike Harley's portal run (not exactly starting, but close), Ambulators, and the Vegas promo run.
-
I wouldnt say this game is any easier, actually perhaps harder
I ran into obstacle that has X attack based on the scene. Well since I was playing that Extract Mission, his attack was a 6. So I was like nope, you're out of play.
I'm not saying the new blackmarket cards are weak, but cards like cover fire or docwagon are essential. And now that the BM deck doubled in size, chances of obtaining those (or other favorites) are slim
I have yet to play the new missions. But seems they are like Crossfire, just with a twist. I was hoping for more, since Extract is my favorite mission by faarrrr.

In Extraction mission, there are 3 scenes as in the other missions. You are referring to the rounds i think. It is indicated on the mission card when it is the end of a scene : the X ennemy would probably havd had an attack of 3, still really tough but not impossible. Hope this helps. :)
I am so sick since a couple of months. Hopefully i will play this weekend to the expansion, I've already sleeved the cards. It seems really good from what I saw.
