That said, he's likely become a big brother or protective uncle.  So anyone interested in Dev has to go through Kane.

I dunno. In that same Corporate Guide bout of shadowtalk where Pistons says that /dev/grrl is 16, and doesn't have the same ideas of 'fun' as others, Kane was quick to offer his services to find out. And no one ever said that Kat would be excluded.

Let's see...  She's learned Hacking/Decking/Hacking from FastJack...  Is learning combat from Kane...  Will learn driving from Turbo Bunny...  Will learn Fixing from Bull...  Will learn about magic from Frosty and Many-Names...  And that's just what we SEE.

That may be, but she has a long, long, long way to go - and a lot of losses to have, absorb, and overcome.  So far she's just been wunderkinder, and that always makes people who've had to claw for every step forward irritable.  I see lots of pain in /dev/grrl/'s future, and not a lot of support from even her fellow Pointers.  It's the Icarus effect.
