Made a brawler adept for this during work today (substitute teacher). Will post him when I get home. Hopefully everything is legal. 9p fist for a human is not bad, saddly had to sack a point of essence to bone lacing and can't take penetrating strike (would be first initiation power point buy, all 4 ranks).

Agreed. This looks like a 'training wheels' edition, that you can use to introduce someone to the setting, and then shift over to something like 5E or 4E. Like how D&D 5E is best used as training wheels for D&D 3.X.

The purists will say that I cheated and they're right, but I say if you ain't cheatin', then you ain't trying.  And my little dip into the wetware has made me the fastest hacker you'll ever see.  Sure, I felt the loss, but what I lost wasn't nearly as much as what I gained and now I'm the best of both worlds.  Try me out, I've got bills to pay and aspirations to meet so I'll make sure your job is done quick and quiet and the mark will never even know we were there.

This evening's installment I've reverted to type as pretty much all my characters are Brujah.  Luckily Fighting and Socializing are a solid combo for Runners.  I really like the way this one turned out.  The Gunslinger Adept!  Assassin, Runner, Pistolero!  All around good runner.  Good at legwork, as all Assassins should be.  Scary, as Gunslingers tend to be.  And hey, Pistols!  Wouldn't even change all that much with more source books, or unrestricted skills even.

Why hire a gun when you can hire a magic gun?  Discrete, efficient, precise, lethal.  Paint a target on something, he'll put it down.  Need someone brought back alive, no problem.  Target gone to ground, he'll find them.  Your team need extra fire power for a run, the gunslinger is at the top of your list.  He may be arrogant, but he's worth putting up with.  And if you need to ask what a Goronagit is, you'll just get a knowing smirk.

Yeah, those are good, but my top 2 picks are always Puppeteer and Resonance Channel.

Maybe my group just plays way different?

Resonance Veil is low fade with broad applicability. Static Veil gives folks/sprites more time in the matrix, which is valuable for many kinds of runs. Puppeteer can be great, but I tend to view it as a last resort option, with the fade being so high. When up against a low dice pool opponent, you can succeed, but why take the damage when a sprite could probably hack through the target just the same. When against a high dice pool opponent, there is diminishing chance of success, especially for succeeding in getting the target to do a more consequential complex action. Resonance channel can be nifty, and also is not high fade. I think with skinlink now, many technomancers go for the direct connect route to limit noise anyway.

How is automatics rank 7(8)? When we are limited to either to one 6 or two 5s? Cant we use aptitude in this contest? Even with reflex recorder I don't think we can break that. Maybe we can, just not sure.

Aptitude's valid for this, yeah. (I didn't mention it, but it's a fair read since it pushes the skill limit you can start with from 6 to 7.)

This guy turned out a lot better than I expected.  Kicked Magic up to A and Skills down to E but still got 28 skill points with the bonus skills from Magic.  Relatively strong with the magic and his knife, esp in astral space.  There were a lot more spells that would be useful esp considering he can sustain 2 without any penalty, but that's just room to grow.  He's definitely got some weak areas, but the healthy edge should let him survive long enough to shore those up.

Last build for tonight.  Another one that wasn't as tough as I expected it to be.  He's weak on init, but he's got cram for planned events and a decent edge for blitzing in surprise situations.  Drain pool isn't stellar so he'll need to rely on reagents to keep the force low on certain spells, at least until he gets centering and a foci for it down the road.  His combat spell dice pool is fairly substantial, better than I expected, so he may be able to afford a sustain penalty while in combat and still hit his limits.   
     You'll have to forgive me for the fun I had with the distinctive style NQ and the fluff at the end there.  :D  I was actually very tempted to give his Dragonslayer bonus to Performance (Rhyming), but since this is supposed to be a legitimate pregen I can't really expect most new players will want to RP that kind of quirk.  And besides that, he doesn't really have enough skill points to goof around with skills.
