Is any one else slightly annoyed that 5E is coming out AND is crazy expensive?

Yeah, part of that is more description for the process (and lengthy examples), part of it is more qualities, part of it is integrating the character improvement from the later chapters.

Thanks for the page breakdown.  Will the collectors edition be released at the same time as the standard edition?

lol.  I use UmaroVI's sample characters, taken to their natural conclusion (which he also provides advice on) as enemies to the players... and they are the only antagonist who ever survive first contact with them.

I for one not only look forward to his 5th edition versions, but strongly support HeroLabs contracting Umaro to complete a special character pack.  That I would truly love to see.

i have to say while i don't have access to herolab, i do use chummer and i certainly use that to recreate/modify or download his creations.... I would certainly hope that they contact him, his characters are always well thought out and certainly make an impact whenever my guys face them.

I may have missed it but is there a release date set for 5th ???

Let's break down the differences (SR4 to SR4A to SR5):
<sniped to keep it short>

So where did the extra book space go? Pretty evenly spaced between character creation, magic, tech, combat, GM advice, and gear.
I'll wait to see it myself before going all... whatever I end up doing.

Some things just feel weird atm.

Let's break down the differences (SR4 to SR4A to SR5):

History:
SR4: 12
SR4A: 14
SR5: 4

(underlined for emphasis) Please tell me this is a typo. I mean, summing up the whole history in a MERE 4 pages?

Hard copy isn't around until about August - they decided not to hold the PDF back for the sake of the hardcopy.  The PDF is about 66% the cost, however, at 20 bucks.

I'm not entirely convinced of your maths...

Probably just be easier to say 33% the cost of the hardback.
