Rough translation from the page courtesy of Chrome reads as follows:
Quote
Technological advances are at the heart of our society, and at the moment it is connected watches that are talked about. Indeed, a German company developing for several years a gun connected to a Smartwatch.

In light of the tragic events that take place regularly in the United States, the German company Armatix develops firearms secured with electronic chip. Indeed, Armatix The iP1 is a 22 caliber pistol that is used in the presence of his girlfriend, the connected watch.

Therefore, only the holder of the said show be able to use the weapon. Thus avoiding many accidents and theft because the gun can also be disabled remotely.

When the gun is close enough to watch, a LED will light green at the back of the gun to signify that the weapon is operational, contrary to a red light will be displayed if the watch is too far and, in this case, the weapon unusable. This link between the weapon and the Smartwatch is via chip RFID .

For now, one shop has copies of this weapon connected, and is located in California. If you want to get there will still pay $ 1,800 to provide two gadgets. (One gun: $ 1,400 and $ 400 watch).
You can find the Armatix page here in a couple different languages: http://www.armatix.com/Smart-System.778.0.html?&L=7

The bit about the watch having enough charges for 5000 rounds is interesting.
The range of activation via the watch is somewhere between 10 inches and 15 inches as they have listed the two distances on two different pages.

Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

Just one more step to bio-metric safeties and other SR gun mods....
Where am I going? And why am I in a hand basket ???

Remember: You can't fix Stupid. But you can beat on it with a 2x4 until it smartens up! Or dies.

Could make that a standard feature in a commlink

Now the fun question would be is there a factory-level master code, ie each watch has their own custom signal but does the manufacturer have a master signal they can use to release a gun.

That could make for a fun scenario where you use this to set some other guy up to take a fall by using his  gun via the master signal so that the cops have to suspect the owner since by their logic he could have been the only person able to use the gun since he never was without the watch.....

I find the technology and concepts quite fascinating, but suspect the price points are prohibitive for any form of general use.

The first pass at technology often is. Later rounds will get the prices down.

Absolute power is kinda neat.

The technology behind this is nifty - if only the smart system could be installed aftermarket on any gun.  I don't want a .22 for anything other than target practice with my daughter.  :P  Plus, I have no idea if this gun is actually any good or not.  Looks like you can't do a lot of customization to it, like grips and such.  Still, the concept is there and it looks like it works.  I especially like the barrel lock though - that's especially a nice touch.  I do find it interesting that the special edition has an American flag on it.  Must be because we love our guns so much.  :)
Feel free to keep any karma you earned illicitly, it's on us.

They need to add a vocal element so if the wristband is not in range to unlock the gun and you try to fire it then chimes in with a helpful "I'm sorry Dave, I can't let you do that." :P

An aftermarket kit would definitely be of interest to many folk, but again that may take a bit for them to finetune it.

first the watch, after the app

you could look at your phone to shoot around corner and count the number of bullets left, or some other things I don't think about

Yes, nice tech and ideas. What happens when an EMP goes off and the electronic part is fried? Can the gun still fire?
Spooky, what do you do this pass? Shoot him with my thunderstruck gauss rifle. (Rolls)  8 hits. Does that blow his head off?

So it's a cyber-safety precursor. Not bad.
