Avatar Size Limits?

I did not see this in the forum rules, so I am curious:
What, if any, are the restrictions on Avatar Size since we can, on here,
upload our own?

Another good question...let me see if I can get an answer for you.

I believe the system resizes avatars, because the 4 or so I've tested have come from vast different sized pics

Quick experiment.....apparently a pic of 2000x1500 pixels is too large, but 42Mb memory is ok

Casazil:
Dam there are rules???? on avatars ...... leaves to go read doesn't want his to be unallowed.
