I noticed early on that a fair few Totems got left out of the transfer to SR4. Are there any plans to bring them in, expand the possible Mentors? Or were they dropped for specific reasons?
I ask because I may need to rebuild an SR2 Bat shaman, but Bat isn't in the list.

I have not heard of any plans to officially update more totems to SR4, but it seems to me it would be a good PDF-only product "Many Mentors" maybe.
Anyway, a while back I compiled a complete list of totems/mentors and their sources. It is available at Totem (http://wiki.dumpshock.com/index.php/Totem) at the Sixth World Wiki.

Thanks! I knew I had seen Fox printed as a Totem before. Sad that he's still useless for my Gunslinger Adept concept, but c'est la vie.

Actually, in SR4, you can take any Mentor Spirit's mechanics, and basically "reskin" them as the appropriate Totem with the appropriate interpretation.

Wrong Mindset ImO
You can (and should) still include Patron/Mentor Spirit Coyote even if its only for Roleplaying. If He gives You nor Crunch Bonus it costs no BP.
I use Patron Wolf for one of my Ki-Adepts only for Fluff
