Are there rules for these somewhere? Am I blind?

 ???

One of my player's is enamored with the idea.
The lack of obvious balance between mundanes and awakened casters enhances the game and encourages creativity and role playing.

wouldn't swallowing a dart be more along the lines of a critical glitch?

Seems to me a glitch would be more like hitting someone in the eye, and not the neck, so they scream for a bit before the poison does its work

Yes actually it is the example given for a critical glitch... I was just trying to make a funny.

odder still, she doesn't want this for her character, just thought the idea would be cool.

How do we simulate the target being within melee range, grabbing the other end of the blowgun, and blowing the dart back into the shooter's mouth before the shooter can fire?

:)

Note that when using a blowgun, a character may inhale his own dart on a critical glitch; some modern blowguns have a safeguard in form of
a small crosslike section in the mouthpiece.

Then you use the simpler and faster direct approach : slam the pipe back *hard*. A foot or two of somewhat sturdy tubing rammed into the roof or the back of the mouth is likely to be extremely painful even if it's not utterly lethal.
