Title: Ward breaker Mage
Post by: Chalkarts on <09-18-18/1636:48>
Another of my threads lead me to an idea and I wanted some thoughts.

It’s a mage, full, mystic adept, or aspected undecided.
His specialization is cutting through magical security measures.
Barriers, wards, preparations, bound spirits, all fall before him.

I’d like him to be Not human but if race has to be E I’ll survive.

Im thinking
A:Magic
B:Skills
C:Race
D:Attributes
E:$

I feel like he’ll need to be skill heavy.
Money would be nice but I don’t think he’ll be gear heavy because of his magic.

What ya think?

Be an Elf, maximize Charisma.
That will both let you bypass Barriers as well as use Astral Combat effectively to take them down.

Would I be better off as a mage or as a mystic adept for wrecking Magics?

Would you want to be able to Astrally Project and move ahead in purely astral form to wreck some of those magical defenses? Or do you want to be required to be physically present?

Mystic Adepts can't use Astral Projection.

Given that info he’d have to be a full mage.
I’m still wobbly on some of the magic rules.
So an elven full mage with high charisma, a shaman of some sort to help with drain.

Now I’m thinking...

A:Skills
B:Magic
C:attributes
D:Elvin
E:$

I feel like this will be a hell of a skill heavy build.

Somewhat skill heavy, but I would go with Magic A, because with Elf at D priority you won't get any additional special attribute points.

If you're looking to be able to break down any magic you come across you'll want:
Assensing (to know what you're up against)
Astral Combat (to fight other mages astrally)
Counterspelling (to knock down spells)
Banishing (to get rid of spirits)

You can probably skip Disenchanting, but there are a few cool tricks in Magic Mastery qualities (from Forbidden Arcana).
And you'll probably want some spellcasting and/or summoning so you can do something else with your magic too.
