I happen to own copy 109 of 1500 of the limited Edition sourcebook. so, having never been to a con, i can tell you that they are not only for cons. I purchased mine from the Game Matrix. Good store. Ran me 65$, and the glittery word Shadowrun is already coming off of the cover. It appears to have been written in literal glitter. SHINY.

Can someone list whats new in the non-Gun heaven part ;D
This is the only things that are new besides comments/errata.
Okay, here's the update:

I'm pretty sure it's been errata'd from the original PDF.
Comments from classic Shadowtalker Nightfire's been added in to give his "expert" opinion on items.
9 weapons added to the Gun Haven Heaven section:
  • TPP (light pistol)
  • Ultimax 70 (machine pistol)
  • AN-39 (assault rifle/grenade launcher)
  • Terracotta Arms DLW (sporting rifle)
  • M428 Grenade Launcher (grenade launcher)
  • Kriss X (submachine gun)
  • XM-629 OICW (assault rifle/grenade launcher)
  • Evington's Propelled Katana (think Tom Jane's Punisher's switchblade)
  • Izom Armaments RP-63A (machine pistol)

Okey that makes a sad pony.
I thought that the other "books" got additions too and not just Gun Heaven

The "Tom Jane's Punisher's Switchblade" is called a "Ballistic Knife" and was developed for the Spetsnaz (IIRC), and has been popular with the comic book character for some time now.  I think it might be the only kind of knife he carries any longer.  (Being the only "Respectable" knife you can bring to a gunfight.).

In fact, this knife was developed in Czech, and Spetznaz possibly never heard of it, because guy vho invented it iscontracted by US government. He holds patent for the weapon also. In addition to this and arms dealing, he is very capable weapon forger, his katanas are considered to be one of best in Central Europe. He also makes european blades...forged my training sword for example :) good to have him around here

The Ballistic Knife, whatever it's true origins, is currently highly illegal in the USA.

Strangely enough, while propelling a knife using a spring is illegal, propelling it with a gunpowder charge is apparently perfectly fine and just needs AOW licensing.

IMO the same here in czech. There was also an accident on some weapons exposition, where inventor demonstrated how the knife worked and one of visitors tried it on his own, killed one of bypassers accidentaly. Problems around this accident lead inventor to go lowprofile and stay lowprofile to this days.
He continues his work BTW, working both on firearms and cold weapons, and he is damn good. Friend of mine says, that it is because he is really paranoid...extremely...and this keeps him in creating practical and effective countermeasures...against some invisible enemy? :)

It's not paranoia when they're really out to get you.

I miss being able to design a vehicle or weapon completely from the ground up. I wish the company would bring those rules back.

And see a increase in "CGL can't design rules for shit, i can make a supersonic bread van with this!"? Nah, not likely.

They get that anyway, so it doesn't automatically rule it out.

Sadly, we don't have our resident engineer on freelance staff anymore, and I'm not sure any of the guys we have currently are as big into riggers as Jon is/was....

True true. And most of it boils down to the inherent issues of a linearly scaling system, where as older editions often employed "diminishing returns".

I'm a BIG "Plus One" to the weapons/vehicle construction rules please.
That would go a Looooong way towards makeing up to us riggers for turning us into deckers with RC toys.

The major problem is making the math match up with the current items.  Of course, it could just make everyone more expensive, and say, "Well, those are production models using bulk build/bought equipment and slave labor, while yours is custom made by hand at one-off component costs..."

Actually...  Hmmmmmmmmm...  Damn, somedays I wish I could just get some of my old crew and new crew together.  I'm sure we could Kludge something together that could be edited into something nice...  'Course, I'd have to be a writer that has more than just some FanWankFiction of a dA site for that, wouldn't I?
