Title: Writing Shadowrun Adventures for Missions
Post by: Crash_00 on <06-21-11/0133:48>
Who do I contact about writing submissions for the Shadowrun missions campaign?

I've tried several people linked to the company, but haven't gotten a response to any
messages or emails that I've sent.

PM Bull.

But as it's con season and Origins begins on Wednesday, you're probably not going to get a quick reply.

I need to look into the Mission redirect.  I've had a couple folks that said they've sent mail to that address (missions@shadowrun4.com) that haven't come through.

And if you've sent anything in the last month or two, I apologize.  I've been working massive overtime at my day job, and besides trying to get something like 20+ Missions polished up, cleaned up, tweaked, and ready to be run while keeping the authors for the rest of the years Missions moving, I'm also spearheading the Shadowrun side of Origins and Gen Con (scheduling, organizing, and running events, herding cats- err, I mean GMs), and juggling a little regular Shadowrun freelance work and writing a few of my own Missions in the middle of all that.

Yeah, I'm stupid.  And really, REALLY need to learn to say "No". :)

Anyway, we have pretty much all of this years Missions lined up with writers and such.  Once Origins and Gen Con are done (ANd I get the chance to talk face to face with some of my Missions staff and the CGL crew), I'm going to start working on the second half of Season 4 (SRM 04-13 through -24, or what I call Season 4.5), which will take some of the characters and stuff from Season 4.0 and move them into a new plotline or two, plus deal with the aftermath of Project Freedom and the Artifact Rush.

So, my apologies for not getting back to you sooner.  I do save all my emails, and once Gen Cons over and I've had a chance to decompress, I'll be looking for authors for new Missions, and I'll be looking for some new authors to add to the pool. Keep an eye out here, and I'll post something up when the time comes.

Thanks for the interest!

Bull

Which is going to make playing that game at Gencon awkward.

Sorry if I sounded pushy, I just thought I had the wrong
person after two weeks.

Sounds like a very busy time. On another note, I'm always
willing to help with editing and polishing if you need. I just
graduated college in December so even volunteer work
helps with the currently blank resume  :D .

Also, what's the average word count on a missions
adventure?

I want to make sure I have my submissions ready for
when the time comes.

Well, they are CMPs but the two Critias wrote were about 19,000 words each.

Missions, btw, does not pay by the word.

I didn't even realize it paid until after I started trying to
get in touch with Bull. I'm really more interested in
experience at this point than payment.
