I'm digging it.  Imagine if you had a backdoor into every device that could only run a spoof command.  That's basically what we've got here.

I don't know - I don't think there's a command that would normally let you blow up an underground steam pipe.  :P

I'm enjoying this game a great deal, though.

Actually, this would make more sense in Shadowrun than in Watch Dogs. In WD there's no reason those pipes would have any sort of wireless connectivity. In SR, it is HIGHLY likely they would have an AR interface for technicians to run controls and quality checks. With the right bit of hacking, you could turn off the safeties and make them explode.

Well, Watch Dogs DOES have a conceit that handily explains both all that online stuff, as well as how you can hack shit so quickly - fucking everything is on the ctOS, after all, so having your backdoors into that lets you do anything.  So, any controls that might be related to those pipes (such as pressure valves) are controlled by the same system as everything else.

I do love that when you blow up someone's explosives, one of the lines they can have is something along the lines of "That's impossible!  This kit's supposed to have 5 fail-safes!".

Ooops
guess the dogs missed the memo about needing to go get bombs added to their collars. :P

Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

You're typing your urls wrong. It should be [ url=http://whatever]text, not [ url=http://whatevertext.

Yep, it's SR4A Hacking indeed!  Things got a little more complicated in SR5.  ;)

This is also a great game to demonstrate how a "clean" view of AR works, or someone with a high firewall allowing only what they want to see.  Add some advertizements and such, and you have Shadowrun's AR.  ;D

To those who think that it might be too hard in the modern age.

Where I'm at there are some quite long and complex pipe lines. That people spend a lot of time looking at screens that tell them about flow rate, pressure and the like. While they're not wireless due to the distance, I can see someone causing merry hell if they got into the system and wanted to raise hell.

Of course, this is very much based on second and third hand accounts, so a pinch of salt is recommended here. None the less, not so out there.
When in doubt, C4.

I quite like it, but feel slightly less engaged than I expected.

Though I *love* sandbox games, there is something about this one that is ... off for me. I feel exactly the way you do. Not sure why.
