What is the technique category of "Rake"?

I would go with Striking.

According to "Lowfyr's Legions" p.25 it is  Grappling, Striking, Weapon

Well, yes, the Martial Art is (Grappling, Striking, Weapon), but individual Techniques are generally of a specific category.

"Striking" does appear to be the most appropriate, I guess.
