Personality/backgroundWhen Henry was born, the greatest problems with anti-awakend hystery was a past already. Not so distant, but it was a past. Neverthless, stories about the Night of rage was something that had a deep influence on him. Both of his parent were elves, both of them survived that night and found forgiveness in their hearts, being respected members of local comunity. They were independent and free people, and as such thea had no desire to move into Tir, that they both considered to built on the same principles and sentiments, that were behind tht rage and hatred. Father being an academic, mother an artisan, Henry was raised in dignity and respect to life and also with quite good classical education.
On this basics Henry built his world view. Not an ideal place, but not a jungle. World of oportunity for anyone who is able to catch his chance...instead of constant struggle and violence he chooses the way of emancipation of himself, using all tallents that nature gave him.
Their household was a place where a lot of interesting people meet. His mother`s friends, customers, critics, His father`s colleagues and students. Harry quicky adapts to anyone, and as he grows up, his knack for languages became more and more obvious. He was able to remember words and phrases almost instantly and has a great feeling for gramatic structure of both, natural and synthetic languages. But more than with programing his father was interested, Henry was facinated with various culture elements those visitors posess. It was only natural, that his interrest in social sciences determined his further steps.
Althought he studies at home, teached by his parents, he visits a local school to keep contact with his equals. He was kind of geek, you could say, but he was almost always able to stay out of struggles, avoiding being beaten with his talkative nature. Since he had no ambition to lead or to be "alpha-specimen", he stays more in the role of an observer and was generally considered harmless. As he watched the grow of some kid-gangs to real street element, saw those absorbed by bigger, well established gangs, he realized that he dont want to spend his life negotiating immunity from gangs and othes cstreet criminals.
Instead, being 17 years old at that time, he bought his first suite and he visited a few companies in the area. Not looking for work. Offering cooperation. Knocking on many doors, trying tirelessly, he moves from reception to HR offices and there he managed to get some trial-contracts as a freelance recruiter. Working in the field he knows quite good...university campus..he managed to get some serrious talents for his new partners, and when he was 18 years old, he was living in his own apartement, working hard on his own bright future, enjoying fruits of his efforts. He moves with the time, using technology and professional trainings to get improve his results.
His mother was hit by Surge back in 2061, and even with quiet polite reaction of the neighborhood, she decided that she had to move forward, spread her horrizonts, like her said. They were quite good financialy established, so they sold the house and began to travel all across the world. To them, it was real blessing, that Harry was to became self-sufficient.
They stayed in touch, mom sending describing funny and sometimes a bit crazy ideas and inspirations, father, always supporting Henry`s anthropological interests, sending sculptures, ideas and analysis from every piece of the planet they had visited. His bussines contacts improves and everything seems to work good.
Then came 2064.
During the crash, Henry lost everything. Nearly every piece of efforts he ever made vanished into nothing. Crash hit during one of his bussiness meetings. When his electronical signature was not accepted, he thought taht it is some kind of mistake, and since his partner had a same problem, they moved the meeting on the later time. It never happened. When Henry came home, his apartement refused to gave him entrance. Bad feeling, that was growing inside him, meet the maximum when he was unable to connect with the Matrix, and when he finaly made it, his pocket secretary just freeze and then died in the puf of smoke from burned electronics. He managed to stay calm, even when he saw the panics in the streets, and made his way back to the strrets he grew up. He reminded some people some favours they owe him, and get a safe hang out for a while in the apartement, well, squat, of one of his "friends" from childhood. When at least some communications were established and news of the Crash were released, He saw no more options than the burglary into his own house to get anything of value out of there and use it to buy a place to stay, before things get better. His friend had the right connections and they enter the house, load a van and get out of there, chaos just had made things easier for them. Henry was able to negotiate good price for some f things and artefacts he sold at the beginning, and with currency in his pocket, he stayed low for a while, waiting for things to stabilize.
He lost everything.
His SIN, his living, his bussiness and contacts were important, but what was even more, he lost connection with his parents. Not that he was afraid of them, but to be totaly cut off, that was a new feeling for him. Without the SIN he wasnt able to recover anything from his bussines, considering it lost forever. As he fell down from the social ladder to the bottom line, he saw many things that he was only hering about on his own eyes. His friend was killed in gang battle not so long after the crash, and this left Henry as a sole player in the world, that he finaly recognized, was nothing more than a jungle with no place for surrender or loosers.
Still honoring his ideals, he slowly managed to slip into shadowy busines, nowing his way around with corporations, using his negotiating skills to get the best of it. Slowly, he built some reputation as a Mr. Johnson, man hired by his partners to find a group of specialists to get the job done. Cutting the deal like this was almost exactly the same work he was doing legaly before, so he fits the job...and enjoys taht. Being treated like a Siless was a bit hars for his feelings, so he found a way to get some forged ID when needed. He decided, that not just corporations are worthy of his work, he found a lot of causes that fits to his live-and-let-live philosophy...or at least not so violent as others. He was able to negotiate the support for some freedom activists. Working with this groups was more about decent diplomacy than hard bussines bargaining, but it brought even more satisfaction.
Once again, Henry`s future was making a promissing progress. And once more, he was fucked up. This time, it wasnt accident. This time, it was some funny business.
He was hiring a team of runners for infiltration and on site data forgery. Classical sabotage, risky, but well paid. Well. It was a trap. some Aztechnology internal business that needs third party involved to have somebody to blame. Team was wiped out without mercy, but from some leaks it was obvious that it was a setup. And since Henry, or Tool, as he gets used to his street name more and more, was Johnson in this operation, he was nearly ostrakized from shadowrunners community, loosing many usefull contacts and credibility.
Never give up, never surrender. Unable to continue to work as Johnson, he switched the sides, and become the runner himself, trying to clear his reputation back, find out, what really happened and make those responsible pay for it.
