Title: technical question regarding this forum software

I am in proces of starting my own forum. and I am thinking about using Simple Machines software, just like Shadowrun Forum does, so i want to ask: Is this forum based on pure Simple Machines technology, or is it modded in a way ? Being far from IT guru, I want my forum as pure as possible, whlist maintaing interesting desing like this forum has.

I didn't do the actual installation, but I believe it's pretty much straight Simple Machines--this theme is one of the themes in their galleries, and we just installed the custom icon in the upper left.
