Title: Please turn down the anti-spam search settings
Post by: irthinker on <01-12-16/1028:09>: I typed in a search. It did not like it. I changed it. It refused to search because it had been less than 30 seconds.

I know firsthand the challenges of spam, but man, it feels like every setting on this board is jacked wayyy up.

Is there anyway we could turn down the flood setting (IIRC, that was the name) a bit?

Post by: Whiskeyjack on <01-12-16/1920:18>: A ton of forums I go to have this setting. While it might be annoying I seriously doubt you're going to convince anyone to turn it off, if the people who maintain it even read it (I'm betting not).

Post by: falar on <01-15-16/1616:26>: I would also say that it's probably put up where it is because it's a DDOS defense. You can quickly overload forum software with repeated searches. Use a search engine instead. They're optimized for it.
