I have a fairly good handle on the nuts and bolts of Decking but I've never stated one out before. Let me know if i've missed anything important. Also this is for a PbP game if that makes a difference

I like the med/matrix support combo.  Only problem I see is the glasses are availability 16 (4 for the glasses 6 for the vision enhancement 6 for thermovision).  I like to put thermo in contacts that I wear under the glasses.  Costs an extra ¥200, but gets lets you put low-light in the glasses with rating 2 VE for an availability of 12.  You loose 1 die on perception checks, but get to use either thermo or lowlight for more situations.

Other than that, I like him, with the logic of 8 and intuition of 5 you've got pretty decent pools for 'trix.  And can default on logic based rolls and still have 7 dice for a lot of things.

according to p444 of the core the glasses have no availability regardless of rank, each rank of vision enhancement is only rating times 2 so rating 3 is 6, thermo is 6 which makes 12. Chummer also says the combo has an availability of 12, but if thats a typo I'll be more than glad to change it.

Yeah the massive logic kept tempting me to put one rank in every logic based skill even if it didn't match the concept. Had to resist the urge ~_~

Yeah the logic, intuition and will power will make him a beast in the matrix. It's social situations I'm terrified of. Sure he has three cha but not one social skill. Hence why i tried to portray him as kind of a jerk in the back story.

The glasses are fine since it has a rating of 12 not 16. Invernos is correct stating that glasses do not have an availability regardless
of the rating.

honestly i was most worried about my program selection and the fact that most of my dice pools are 10-14. I'm used to rolling deep with faces rolling 30 dice, street sams with 20+ dice for shooting, cyber soak beasts with 50+ soak dice. I'm hoping that I'm just a power gaming hose beast and that 10-14 is actually enough to get the job done for your average decker.

It is if you (ab)use direct connections. For a dedicated Hacker, your dice pools are way too low. For a direct connection Hacker, you should be fine, although you might feel some pain when engaging in Cybercombat with a more dedicated decker.

So 14 dice wont be enough? Don't most high end systems only throw 12 dice, Device rating times 2? I guess i can always use edge in a pinch but i dont like that idea as plan A. What can i do to get the dice pools up? Are my only options codeslinger (hack on the fly) and a specialization?  I guess i could take a point out of cyber combat and then use it to buy a hacking specialization of hosts, as i assume they will be the only thing with extra high dice pools that i will be hacking against.

also cant my agent aid me on that test? It only throws 6 dice but any little bit can definitely help

Sure, a Rating 6 host only throws 12 dice. That's still not a great chance of winning. If you use direct connections, you will likely only face 4-8 (8 is really rare) dice. Yes, a specialization and Codeslinger is good. Going from 14 to 18 dice greatly improves your odds.

I'm just saying this, because I'm currently in a game where the character is a 7 Edge Human who throws 15 dice and still has to Edge some rolls against a Rating 5 host. Mostly because the GM rolls well, but it's still a threat; and the drawbacks to failing a Matrix test are much higher than, say, a negotiation roll or a single shot.

As for the Agent helping you, you'll need to check with your GM on that. Besides, it wastes a lot of actions. You have to use a Simple Action to Send Message to your Agent to coordinate with you, and most Matrix Actions are Complex Actions. That means you need 2 Action Passes to get an extra 2 dice, if that.

12 and 14 dice isn't that significant an advantage. It certainly isn't a reliable one. Of course high end systems won't be a reliable victory by design, but 2 just isn't that large of an advantage. It's at least not something I would act on with the confidence that I would come out victorious.

Math. Brought to you by anydice.

Results of 12 dice:
 - Average Result: 4
 - Most likely result: 4 (23.84%)
 - At least 5: 36.85%
 - At most 3: 39.31%

Results of 14 dice:
 - Average Result: 4.67
 - Most likely result: 4 or 5 (21.43%)
 - At least 5: 52.45%
 - At most 3: 26.12%

not sure how to free up 10 karma for codeslinger, but i did take a point out of cybercombat and got a host specialization for hacking. I also realized i didn't have a data tap, so tacked one on with the little $ i had left over.

What about his programs? Did i miss any of the good ones? Are there any i should un buy?

Well, honestly, if you have the money, I would buy all of them. It makes your cyberdeck very modular and adaptive.

Otherwise, I'm not seeing Fork, Biofeedback/Blackout, and Baby Monitor.

I think your a little Cyber heavy and  a little decking light. at .8 E your way down there. I do like that your running a taser as your go to gun on this guy.
How did you  possibly manage to get down to .8 E with  an allergy to penicillin? That is a LOT of surgery.
I'd also drop the funkie mechanics stuff, and put those points in cybercombat.
Also etiquette 0? I mean anti-social is certainly in the decker bailiwick but 1 pt maybe with karma, just think on it.

There are thousands of people today who are allergic to penicillin; I imagine it is much worse in 2075. Not to mention that a lot of bacteria today has immunity to penicillin; again, it's probably worse in 2075. I would guess that they have alternative antibiotics by 2075, so it's not impossible.

It looks a lot like you're trying to be good both in VR and in meatspace, and that is hard to do.

If you want to go balls-out decker, drop some of the ware that improves meatspace actions only. This may free up some karma, not sure.

I could have sworn i had fork. I remember looking at it and wanting it ~_~ Double damage is also very useful, but i avoided it for the physical damage aspect, didn't notice black out was stun, SOLD! I skipped out on baby monitor because there is a matrix action to check over watch. Granted  10v6 isnt the best odds in the world, but $ is a little tight without changing around some of my bigger purchases

What 8 bit said. There are plenty of penicillin alternatives today. Also even if they weren't its only a mild allergy. He would put up with the rashes and welts for the upgrades. The mechanics stuff was from spending 5 karma in the skill group. It takes good advantage of his massive logic and gives him a lot of versatility. As it is going to be a PbP i wanted him to be as versatile as possible. Even if i took it away and tried to up cyber combat i would still be a karma short. I will however try and find two karma for etiquette

I went $ A he only has 1 karma in $ so making changes to the cyber wont effect his skills too much and that is where he needs the most help. Also as i said above he is for a PbP so i don't want him to be cyberarm cheese or an invalid like other deckers I've seen are
