Title: A touchstone of reality. And Red Bull is awesome, no matter how vile it tastes

It's kind of cool to remember that there are real people who do the things that we hesitate to try with figments of our imagination.

They re-scheduled for sunday. Is he going to make a sonic boom? The air pressure might be too low for it when he actually gets to those speeds. Maybe it'll happen when he hits higher pressure. It all depends how gradual the pressure increase is though.

Any time you break the sound barrier, you're going to get a sonic boom.  The air pressure just changes what speed that happens at.

Okay, you're right. I was thinking of supersonic speed at ocean level pressure.

He seems to be fine and it went off without a hitch. Good on him.

It turns out that, were he moving at sea level, he still would have moved in excess of the speed of sound. Dude got up over 800MPH.

I find it sad that an energy drink is able to do stuff like this, but we can't get the funding from the governments...   >:(

Money is tight in governments. I'm glad there was a company willing to step up and fund this.
