Morning Ladies, Gents & Other Entities
As a proud Australian I would just like to enlighten the rest of the world community to a tradition that we practice here in Australia.... On the 25th of March is Remembrance Day, it celebrates the fact that our Armed Forces have fought in conflict on behalf of our country,  and have died defending that country and its values. It is a day of respect for that sacrifice and so there is an early morning service that comerates their loss and the memory of their courage, followed by March by any survivors who chose to attend.

I also feel that as I’m writing this that I should extend that level of respect to any member of any armed service of any nation....

So thank you for the willingness to do the right thing while risking the most precious thing that you have.

Hellion

This is a poem that is read out on the day at the morning service... (always sends a shiver down my spine but in a good way)

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes,  steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor  the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
    We will remember them.
Its not the victors who write the history books, its the suvivors
