Synopsis:
Moscow is in chaos following recent events and now more than ever the Vory run this city. Work is scarce except in the shadows...

The streets of Moscow are desolate and abandoned a brisk breeze whistles through the streets biting with a bitter northerly chill. All around there is nothing but an eerie calm as deserted vehicles litter the streets. In the distance a faint crackle of burning building can be heard punctuated with the staccato shots of weapons fire. A faint glow lights the horizon in the failing light of dusk as the snow begins to fall...

The news report that now feels like a tired old recording repeats its self for the 3rd time this hour...

Good evening viewers! Earlier today a dedicated terrorist force seized an Evo Corporate arcology on the outskirts of the city. The corporate security stationed there were no match this trained professional group. Immediately a task force was mobilized to combat this threat and to free the arcology from the terrorists! The two forces have now been locked in a vicious firefight struggling to assert their dominance for control.

Our very own Vera Stinsky is on the scene.
"Vera what's going on down there....
have the Corporate forces made a breakthrough yet?"

"Hans, the scene down here is like a war zone... the corporate forces are being pinned down by heavy surpressive fire, they have called in a specialist unit to try and 'resolve' the matter but are reluctant to press on given the massacre of the on-site security teams....

It truly is a horrific scene and we can only hope that is resolved soon!"

[The camera pans round to shown the front of the burning arcology complex with the dead mutilated bodies of security guards brazenly being displayed in a primitive fashion. as the camera feed dies and is replaced by static]

It would seem we have lost the feed from the ground. Please we urge you all to take great care if you are in the vicinity of the Tolskoi District... Stay indoors and wait for instructions from the authorities.

This is Hans Tammier for Evo News. wishing you all a safe evening!

As the news report fades away a rumbling noise can be heard in the distance that builds in a deafening crescendo the earth begins to shake beneath your feet and the buildings tremble and groan. A  distant flash lights the evening skyline and suddenly all is quiet, the shaking stops and the day fades away into blackness....

The Colt Government sat broken down into it's basic components in front of Miner Fox on his kitchen table. Miner already had the trigger mechanism in hand and had a rag with gun cleaner going over it already... old habits died hard. All in the while he had the trid projecting in AR to his right... something about an EVO archology under assault by some terrorists.

Miner's attention was fully grabbed when the reporter mentioned the scene looked like a war zone, "Hardly a war zone." Miner said with a slight huff.

Miner began to reassemble the Colt Government back together when the video cut to static. Next came the rumbling and Miner assembling the rest of the Colt in a quick and skilled fashion when the rumbling began. Miner was hastily making his way into his room while loading in the clip to his Colt when the flash hit. He hit the deck as fast as he could... old habits really died hard. The lights then started to flick and cut out in his apartment and finally cut out for good.

Now I'm going to have a lot of fun finding my shoes.

The Hotel room was cozy and well furnished; a few more minutes of tinkering and Kyo would be done with redirecting the reservation and bill processing between various Airways Companies that use this hotel in the heart of Moscow for the layover of their crew. He was pretty excited. Not about Moscow. Not about the cold and snow. Not about the Jetlag still hitting him. All that he couldn't stand.
He was excited because the Matrix was bursting with life, information was flowing. Of course people had died; and of the live ones, most were afraid, some worried, a few angry, but all had their mind pointed at the same event, and it was happening right here in Moscow.

While working on securing his lodging for the next couple weeks, Ginji, as he was known in the Matrix, had compiled a Code Sprite, with the tasks to filter through this flow of information and snatch the good pieces, decrypting them if needed. Whatever was happening in that arcology he would love to take an insider look.

Then the floor shook. Chikushō! (Oh Shit!) He ran to the balcony to see if he could have a glance at what was going on, or what just had happened!

Francois (Frank for those who knew him) was in an upscale bar somewhere in Moscow, sipping on some brandy. While everyone else was raving about vodka (and paying up the nose for it), Frank couldn't stand the swill. Nothing beat a well-rounded brandy in his books. As he sat there, talking to a pretty thing, something about a hostage situation playing on the Trid in the background, he was wondering why he was wasting his time here. Someone had told him the "Ice Cube" was an up-and-coming place but he definitely didn't see it. Seemed like just another watering hole for the wannabes.

Just as he had decided to leave the place, the ground shook and the lights went out. Frank's first instinct was to flip a table over and take cover behind it, taking out his Government 2066. As his eyes were adjusting to the darkness, he sat there behind the table, wondering what was going on...

Andy was at his friends where they wanted to watch sports... not infomercials (no news feed at home so I have to be somewhere else) and opened another can of beer.

Say how far is that away from here?
I don't want to run into a lockdown on my way home, mabe I should leave now.

As the sun rises over Moscow things seem to be returning to normal for most of the city, people going about their day to day lives in their day to fashions. in only the way a large group of people can forget about a major event these people have.

There is a total media blackout with regards to the incident in the Tolskoi District and the Evo arcology.

He then walks home and prepares.
Andy gets his trusty weapon out of the locker and starts to disassemble, clean and reassemble it, checks the clips and packs his bag.
He lays out his Armor, checks every piece and straps the helmet onto the bag.

Then he goes outside to tend to his garden and holds a ritual to appease the spirits with plants from the garden.

Frank is already on his way home, soycaf in hand when the message appears in AR. "Nothing like the possibility of work to make the walk of shame more enjoyable" he thinks to himself as he reads the anonymous letter. After thinking about it, he decides it's worth a look. He does, however, want to know what kind of place the Borscht Boris is, so he sends a message to Alexei, his fixer, asking him "what do you know about the Borscht Boris?"

You change Into a rather bulky Human (to accommodate the Body requirement of the spell)

physical stats
Bo: 6 | Ag: 4 | Re: 3 | St: 5

As you approach the restaurant the bitter chill of the air envelops you. the restaurant is warm and there is folk music playing 2 men outside are smoking and wearing large greatcoats and scarfs. The food smells good, very appetizing almost as though there may even be real food in this joint. On the astral this place looks vibrant  you can't see any further as the awakened ivy growing on building blocks your vision.

When you walk in the place is warm and toasty with a large open fire on the far wall, an ork barman is serving the busy bar, and there are only a few free tables.... the waitresses are all running round very busy and trying hard to avoid the obvious play from some of the more 'amorous' locals.

As you manage to find a quiet table you see that most of the crowd look like locals and those who aren't are wearing varied degrees of suits. A look on the astral plane shows that the suited individuals are all a  little nervous.

When the food you order arrives it smells OK, very good in fact. it most definitely isn't your usual soycaf that's for sure.

If you want any more details i'll want a perception and/or assensing rolls.

Miner Fox was in the middle of his morning workout when the message came to him. He dropped down from his pull up position on his bedroom door frame and grabbed the water bottle on the floor all while going over the message.

More work the better, Miner thought to himself as he squirted some water into his mouth.

Miner got himself cleaned up with a quick shower and threw on his outdoor clothing and all his armor pieces (SecureTech pieces and the Half-Body suit) and grabbed his Government 2066. He selected the arctic camo pattern for his Strict-9 jacket as it fit in with the season and weather. As Miner was leaving his apartment he called up his hacker friend that he served with in the UCAS Spec Ops, "Hey Gizmo, I need some info on a place called Borscht Boris. Have the info for me before 8 pm my time."

Miner then left his apartment and took a stroll down to the soycaf shop just a block away.

"More money the better" thinks Frank as he turns on the Trid in his apartment. This was a big downgrade from his luxury condo in Paris, but tough times meant tough living. And it's only temporary, he kept on telling himself. He got his things ready, put his Berwik suit on, checked on his firearm and headed out the door at 19:30, just in time to get to Borscht Boris with 15 minutes to spare. Once there, he made sure to observe in detail, both the outside and the inside, and took a seat at the bar, ordering some tea to drink.

Ginji woke up early, eager to take a look at the info his sprite had managed to gather about yesterday's events. What surprised him, and got him even more curious, was that no news channel seemed to mention anything about it.

As he was going through the info, he had the feeling his skill would soon be needed and he could always use some assistance. He ordered a good breakfast to be delivered, courtesy of Aeroflot Airway, and with his stomach full, sat on the bed and immerse into VR.

His persona icon was of a silver humanoid only equipped with a katana, weapon of his samurai ancestors. Ginji meant in Japanese the silver Samurai. In spite of his name however Ginji relied much more on stealth and evasion than on cybercombat. His persona brandished the katana and brought it down as if slashing through some fabric. From the imaginary slash started to pour pure code. He waved at it and the code responded by taking shape. He was starting a long process was would encode and register a powerful Paladin Sprite.

Ginji opened his eyes and returned to the real world. 6 hours had pass. He had a pounding headache and felt like he had a hangover. Even his mouth was dry. A familiar buzz in his head passed through the pain and remind him that a message was waiting for him. It was 2pm already and the message was from the morning. Kyo had been just too absorbed in his work on the sprite registration that he hadn't bothered with it, until now...

Possible work, perfect. 8pm, even better, he would have time to rest and refresh before the meet. He didn't like the fact the message was anonymous and should he had been in the mood, he would probably had tried to trace the message back to its originator. But he was too drained from his work in the Matrix. Besides, he had info on what happened last evening that many would not possess. He took some pills to ease the pain in his head and laid in bed until sleep caught up on him.

He woke up ready to take on the world. Kyo looked up the fastest way to get to the place using mass transportation and on his way looked up for basic info on the restaurant used for the meet as well as different routes to escape the place should things get heated. He felt the weight of his Savalette Guardian in the concealed holster on his lower back, and hoped to not have to rely on it.

When Ginji arrived at the place, the cold was chilling his bones. He cursed at his decision to listen to his contact Boris Katsevman. "Come to Moscow" he said, "I know plenty of people interested in Matrix specialist, I can get you job in no time"!
Well Kyo had been here for almost two weeks now and still no work. All he got was snow, rain, chilling wind, and a couple evenings of Vodka abuse. The only lodging he could find and afford was a squat on the outskirt of downtown, and if not for the classy hotel room he was spoofing, he would be a very grumpy camper.
The smell from the Kitchen sent his stomach growling , reminding him that he hadn't had food since breakfast, and he must have admitted, it smelled pretty good.

Before entering, he observed the restaurant's surrounding, a mental command turning on his glasses' vision enhancers. He took notes of the vehicles parked nearby, in case he would have to make a hasty exit, he would have to hack I to one quickly. Plus he had the feeling he wouldn't be the only criminal to come here.

Upon entering, he sat where ushered, ordered some pelmeni and a side of fried kartoshka and inckonspicuously observed the place and its patrons while waiting for the food. He was sure other Shadowrunners would be here and was trying to pinpoint who would fit in. One thing was for sure, it was much warmer inside.

Miner glanced over the info Gizmo had given him as he chowed down on a sub sandwich. If he knew the place was a restaurant he would of held his appetite for later but he'll probably just grab a drink from the bar. The second part of the info was way more interesting to Miner.

If the place has Vory connections then the best bet is they hired me out or someone that has some ties to them or the Vory themselves... I love working with gangsters. Maybe they have some info I'm looking for?

Miner tried to piece together the broken message Gizmo uncovered; October, November, or December 2073.... some talk about about a person with Vory ties... some talk about some stuff taken out back... by the looks of thing this was a police stakeout.... wonderful.

Miner finished the sub and thanked the cute female cashier as prepped himself before leaving. He had the Rover just parked right across the street from the place and it didn't  take long to get to as the traffic seemed to have died down compared to earlier.

Miner rolled up to the restaurant with just a few minutes to spare but before he got out of his Rover he made a quick scan of any vehicles that could serve as a police lookout vehicle. Miner also switched on his radio signal scanner to see if he could catch them that way.

Your all settled in waiting for the 'Johnson' to arrive, their is an obvious tension in the crows of people as time passes, at approximately 20:15 that evening a small stocky dwarf arrived with a 4 man entourage made up of mixture of orks and a human. they are all wearing suits and great coats.
The dwarf is wearing the most up to date Berwick fashion and walks with a cane in one hand and a briefcase in the other.

As he approaches the bar the suited individuals all noticeably tense and pay attention. The ork barman walks out and opens a door to the back with an old fashioned key. They stand at the doorway for a few moments exchanging words.

The guard take up obvious defensive positions and are clearly watching the crowd at all times.

Miner fiddled with the radio scanner signal and picked up the usual expect for a weird absence of any kind of signal coming from one of the apartments across from the restaurant. He gave the building a quick look over but spotted nothing but that didn't mean it had something or someone hiding in there. There however was no time to investigate though as the meet was about to start. Miner shifted his Colt Government in his waistband to be drawn with a cross draw as it worked well when sitting down.

Miner waited patiently at the bar downing a shot or two of vodka to pass the time. He didn't notice anyone else in particular at the place but he knew there were probably other runners and Vory about.

When the Dwarf and his entourage showed up he noticed a very heavy tension from the suited individuals of the place... probably Vory. The Dwarf by the looks of things could be the Johnson but until Miner got the invite to the back room he wouldn't know for sure. He did however size up the big fellows that seemed to be guarding the door. He was mostly looking for any guns or cyberware.

Ginji could feel the tension build up when the Suits stepped in. The Dwarf looked important and could potentially be his new employer, but he wasn't gonna chance walking up to him and ask.

@Obidancer
By the time the software is threaded the dwarf has disappeared into the back room. (You use the rating of the software as the perception check when you use the software)
After a brief conversation with the barman the dwarf and 2 of his guards enter the backroom. One stands by the door and the other one moves over to the bar to talk to one of the suits.

The barman comes to each of you in turn. It becomes apparent that most of the joint clocked you as soon as you walked in and that you've been watched this whole time.

'Boris' would appreciate your presence, if you would like to make your way through.

The locals seem to be leaving the place and as the crowd thins only the suits are left.
The tension in the air is thick, there is something not right but you can't quite put your finger on it.

Once the barman has approached you all he head over to the front door casually flipping the old fashioned open closed sign over to close and starts to clear off the remains of the evening from the tables and floor.

Well that's exciting though Ginji. Something was up but he couldn't tell what exactly; that guy from the apartment maybe? He wasn't going to get all crazy about it. His very nature, just like in the Matrix, was to simply improvise. All the plans he made always ended up changing anyway.
He got up and followed the pack. An intriguing bunch, he even thought the Elf was one of the gang. Well, let's not put all suits in the same dirty basket
He passed the guard by the door and noded: Spasibo!. One third of his Russian vocabulary used already...

Andy was relieved by the fact, that the others in fact joined him and he wasn't the only one stupid enough to walk into an obvious trap.

As you walk into the room the obvious change of decor is breathtaking, from the peeling wallpaper and stained walls and floors of the main restaurant, you have stepped into a lavish room. The immaculate half walnut paneled brick walls are lit in dim candle light from ornate fittings. A fire burns on the far side of the large antique table sitting in the middle of the room, the table is lit by a simple but stylish down light . Old worn leather chairs sit in from of the fire and one is occupied by the ork bodyguard with his feet kicked up on a side table. He leans forward and lights up a big fat stogie and starts muttering incomprehensibly to himself.  The human bodyguard is stood leaning against the other chair just over Boris' right shoulder.

Boris the dwarf Johnson is sat on the far side of the table eating a bowl of goulash. that has obviously been sat waiting for him and must be stone cold by now. As Boris hurriedly finishes his bowl of food and casually pushes it to one side. he gestures to the four empty chair in front you.

Please take a seat gentlemen,

I appreciate you will have lots of questions so please let me try and give you some answers....

Without waiting for you to take seat he continues on ....

Well i'll start with the simple introduction, My name is Boris.
I work for Evo BioMed operating out of the arcology in this district as a human resources manger....

One of our assets didn't appear at work a week ago, following procedure we awaited contact from the assets handler.

The handler has since failed to report... and can not be contacted.

The job is simple locate and return the asset alive!
There will be a bonus if you can find out any information on the handler.

For your services you will each be paid 8,000 ¥

If the job interests you we can talk more if not the door is that way and  i wish you a good evening.

Frank gets in and takes a seat at Boris's request. He unbuttons his greatcoat and makes himself comfortable while listening to the run's details. He thought it odd that Boris gave so many details about his identity but chose not to pursue it any further for now.

"Sounds reasonable, you definitely got me interested, Boris" answers Frank. He quickly follows up with "We will have to talk a bit more about payment though. But until then, you can consider me a party in this."

Miner took a seat directly next to the Elf with the greatcoat at Boris's request. Miner placed his left arm on the table and kept his right tucked down by his lap in close reach to his Government 2066 as he listened into the run details.

Jeez.... spill your guts onto the table while you introduce yourself Boris.

Miner didn't enjoy the fact Boris was so open. He was either new at this or really didn't give two shits about his life or career.

So just a simple search and return op. The money's alright and it seems the Elf can dig out some more. Why the hell not!

"You got yourself a second man Boris," Miner said right after the Elf finished speaking.

Kyo could really do with 8,000 ¥ right now. And it didn't matter what he had to do for it actually. Find some creature and its handler was even better. Information retrieval was his specialty; follow the flow of the Matrix and the right info will show up.

Even if he had already agreed to it - not even bothered with what danger laid behind the whole story - Kyo didn't say a word. He looked around focused on the signals in this room, looking for some sort of white noise generator or jammer. If someone outside was spying on who get in, and out, they might as well have some audio listening device planted in or pointing at the room.

Sorry to interrupt... but before more sensitive information is revealed, can you confirm this room is safe from privy ears? Don't want to be the one pointing finger at anyone, but those in the front apartment across the street are curious enough about who's getting in the restaurant that I wouldn't be surprised they'd also be interested in what is being said inside. That being said, i'm in too.

He lean toward the bold guy that will possibly soon become a fellow runner. And if they are listening, I'd love to see their face right now.

Miner's eyes shifted over to man or was it a boy that just spoke.

Oh so there was somebody up to no good... again... in that apartment across the street.

Miner leaned in towards the young man, "I would too! They're probably busy cursing out loud and trying to pack up gear before they become the new paint job of the place." He then looked over to Boris, "I'm no interior decorator but I think the color red inside that apartment would look fantastic. I could even head over there and do it myself."

If they heard that they better be packing a lot faster.

"If a kid runner can spot them so easily, there's no way these guys haven't spotted them long before" thought Frank. "People possibly listening in on this conversation, Boris giving everything short of his SIN info..." A strange theory was forming in his mind but he decided to keep it to himself for now. He decided to let Boris address the Asian's comment and see how things would evolve.

Andy was the first one in the room and the first one to sit.

Andy kept as much as possible to himself, he couldn't afford to be as open as the others (if any of it was true) and couldn't lie reliably enough to tell a story that'ld fit theirs.

Look kid, what kind of fool do you take me for! I funded Orlov's dream so i could have these such meeting in 'PRIVATE' Those petty fool across the street have no idea what they are doing.

The deal I brokered between Orlov and the Vory makes sure of that. They own this town everything in this town even the police there are only a few foolish officials who believe otherwise! oh and the FSB of course and they wouldn't be interested in a place like this!

He seems very offended by Kyo's comments. His voice is strong with rage as he spits his words at you. But this fades with a hint of pride as he starts talking about the deal with Orlov and how he helped his dream. This place is obviously means more  to him that he wants to show. It would also seem that the Vory connection to this place is stronger than the rumors you first hear suggested.

Right then, the job as i said earlier is to find our asset. Everything you should need to know is in here. We need him returned to us in 96 hours. If he isn't lets just my my employers don't take kindly to failure and neither do I.

He tosses an old fashioned paper file out onto the table.
The paper file contains a file photo and a rather in depth history of his movements for his entire duration with the company. It advises that the project he's working on is developing  a new radiation drug.

The assets name is Dr. Stainton Fields, he was employed by SK after they funded his doctoral research project.  Evo head hunted him a few years later and he has been working at the Tolskoi arcology since.

So what say you fellas?

Frank doesn't let any emotion show when Boris retorts, but he is somewhat amused. "The kid got his first lesson in meetings" he thinks, looking at how Ginji reacts.

Once Boris hands them the folder, Frank quickly leafs through it and scans it for the main points. Upon reading the Evo arcology and the Tolskoi district, his face purposely sours and Frank lets out a soft "Ohh."

He then shifts his attention to Boris and tells him "I appreciate you're a man with great influence, Boris, and I certainly know doing business with you has its own advantages, but Evo is hot right now and Tolskoi is an especially hot potato at the moment. I would respectfully ask for ¥12,000 a piece for this kind of work, and possibly a bonus if we complete things earlier?"

The kid raised a good question... chill out Boris.

Miner takes a look over the folder and listens into Elf.

"Oh... that little fiasco." Miner says in a mumbling tone while his nose is in the folder.

Miner looks over to the big man that just introduced himself. Something seemed off about him but Miner couldn't put his finger on it.

"I'm your weapon spec, driver, and demo expert. Also I can patch somebody up but don't expect me to reattach a limb or two." Miner said without lifting his eyes from the folder.

Kyo felt like a kid who had done wrongly and got a sermon from his dad. If he had care just a bit about it maybe he could have turned red a little. But in this case, he just bit his lower lips and shut his mouth. Whatever, 間抜け (stupid) he thought.

He didn't want to point finger but he did touch a sensitive button on the Dwarf.

The big human was the first to speak. Upon hearing his question, Kyo simply raised his hand but remained quiet. The man didn't fit the picture he had in his mind of magicians and hearing him talk about heavy weapons first kind of blew it apart even more, but then again Kyo was known to watch too much Trids on his spare time. Having to team up with an Awaken was pretty awesome though.

Well you do have everything we've got on him...

As you look through the file you'll notice that he's become increasingly more disturbed, he's having delusions and is becoming increasingly more paranoid.
He knows our agents and our methods too well, he could avoid them indefinitely.

So we are using a different tack.

Make no mistake this is not an easy task that lies before you. I can agree to 10k each but no more. Contact me when you have him and i will arrange payment. My details are in the file. In the mean time Orlov will get you whatever you want. have a good evening

"That works" answers Frank before standing up from his seat as Boris leaves the table. He then asks Orlov for a bowl of goulash ("good enough for Boris, good enough for me" he thought) and sits back down at the table. He addresses the other three members of his team and says "So officially, Francois." with a French accent on his name. He smiles and continues with "But Frank for intimates. And to answer that question earlier, I can be quite convincing with words. And when that doesn't work, I can hold my own in a man-dance."

Andy adds one to the goulash order.

Andy
he replies to Frank

Orlov, I need Stick n Shock ammo for a light machine gun, to incapacitate your guy.

Then he turns back to the Team:
So we got weapons, demo, medic, driver, heavy weapons, magic, someone to talk us through, that leaves you [turning to kyo] for Matrix support.
I hope I'm not mistaken?

Andy starts to read the files, especially focusing on everything related to Magic, experiments, friends, colleagues, anything were the word magic had written over it  or just implied magic in a side note.

"If what the kid said is true" starts Frank while pointing at Ginji, "I'd rather we take our planning elsewhere, once I'm finished with my goulash of course." Frank then gets to eating the food Orlov brought them, washing it all down with a tall glass of water. "If none of you mind, I know of a quiet dim-sum stall a few blocks away where we could talk more freely. What say you we keep the business talk until then?"

When Frank spoke it was like a different person with his French accent, "I'm Miner Fox. Miner, Fox, MF, what ever works for you all."

Frank the frog, big guy Andy, boy wonder Ginji, what a very interesting group.

Miner looks over to Andy when he asks for some Stick n Shock ammo, "Hey big guy you don't mind grabbing me a case of Stick n Shock for an assault rifle do ya?"

He then looks over to Frank and Ginji, "A place without prying eyes or ears sounds like a good plan and Frank's place sounds good enough. I can provide transport but remember I'm your driver not your chauffeur."

Kyo got in the Rover. He first wanted to front seat but knew he wouldn't have time to appreciate it, so he let the front passenger seat to Big Andy.
Hard to tell, Franky. Kyo answered to the French man. But let me get on to that now.
Ginji closed his eyes and immerse into VR.

###

Flows of data felt like the wind on his silver body. He drew his Katana from an invisible sheath and started a few Kata. Each strike created a light that remained there and slowly joined with the newly created ones. With each strike, Ginji was calling on the spirits of the Matrix. He rolled the blade above his head and planted it into some invisible ground at the bottom of the conglomerated lights. A translucent being appeared from the light, his body filled with running letters, characters and numbers. It was half the size of Ginji's icon, but felt imposing with power. When  Ginji removed the Katana, the light disappeared and only the being remained.
I thank you for answering my call; I need your help to find someone and trace him back to his current location. There are traces of his presence on several nodes I know of and I am sure many still to be found. There are hidden data we need to find!I count on you and intuition to find him.
Ginji sat legs crossed and his body seemed to levitate. Let's get to work!

Ginji opened his eyes as they arrived at the Dim-Sum place. His head was pounding from the strain of compiling the Sprite. He remained quiet for some time still trying to piece together the information he had gathered. Out of habit he tinkered with his comlink to pretend his connection was coming from it and hide his abilities for a while longer.
It didn't make sense to him, 5 days without a real Matrix signal, who would ever want to do that? The guy was either dead or working hard to not be found, like using another commlink.

As they entered the new place, Kyo started to narrate his search result. He shared as much info as he could without of course mentioning anything about the precious help from his Sprite.
The 5 days, the extra random traces, the lack of link between them. All those details could help them find the man, they were just missing a few links.

Ginji knew he still had much work to do in the Matrix. He knew there were answers flowing around. But for now he was interested in hearing what his new companions had to say about it, and getting rid of that now too usual headache.

When they arrive at the dim-sum place, Frank gets out of the car and walks to the improvised restaurant. He takes a seat and orders a serving of dumplings. After hearing what Ginji has found on the matrix, he says "Well done! That should give us a few options on where to start. Any chance these other random places are not on Evo grounds?" He then takes a pair of chopsticks and puts a hot dumpling in his mouth, steam coming out as he bites into it. "Do you think you can find out what's going on in the Tolskoi district? Might be good to know if we're going to deal with the arcology."

Miner ordered himself some sake when he took a seat with Frank.

Vodka and sake both on the same day! My life is getting greater by the minute.

Miner went over the info Ginji had gathered up on the good doctor while he sipped his sake, "Seems like the doc is spoofing his signal so no one would no where he would be at one exact time. Only way to see if he would be at any of his local places would be to stake them all out but we don't have the man power for that," Miner says pointing the sake glass at the 4 of them, "I also doubt he looks like anything in the dossier... if he's smart. Also looks like he doesn't come out of his new hidey hole very often. "

Miner just leaned back in his chair and sipped away on his sake waiting for the other to chime in.

Miner's observation got Frank thinking. "True, it seems he's holed out somewhere and won't come out unless he needs to. Thing is, what would make him come to us? I think if we can find what he's after, we'll be able to lure him out and grab him then." Frank takes a sip of tea and looks away, thinking. "Has anybody detected a pattern to his erratic behaviour? Is there any way to find what he's looking for?"

Kyo skipped any food or drink. Water was fine. Between the Pilmeni, Kartochka and the Vodka, he had enough for the evening. He was surprised how much the French guy could eat for someone of his size. Andy... he could understand...

Kyo Added his cents to the discussion:
Well, one thing is for sure, our guy isn't hiding in any class A sectors or any zone one has to broadcast their lnk constantly. It actually reduces a bit the search area. And yes the different traces were all over the city. I don't think they hold much interest. Like Miner pointed out, they are spoofed access ID. To be at the same time at different zone is something that has been planned though. That mean our guy isn't alone and some decent hackers are working with or for him.  So the first hypothesis is that he's secluded somewhere. I didn't find any of his of his trace at any transportation terminal so I'd say he's still in the city.

Once again, he may just have switched 'link and get himself a new ID. In this case I'll have to do a search based on profiled and facial recognition, it may take a few hours. And if what you mentioned is true, Miner, he may not even look like what I'd be looking for...

I think the only tangible thing we have is when and where the link has stopped being connected. It should be our starting point and yes that involve the Tolskoi District and the Arcology.
Cr4ckp0t, on the very first post I had one Sprite gather info on the Arcology incident. Does Kyo has that info accessible and what could he has learnt from it? Also does he have a location based on when and where the comlink stopped being used?
Miner almost chocked on his sake at Ginji's last sentence, "I wouldn't touch that district or the Arcology without a very long and I mean very long stick. However... it would probably be a good place to start but we need to need to know what the hell happened in there before we just walk in. I hear news has been pretty heavily censored about what happened in their but I have some back line channels I can check in with to see what the low down is."

Miner activated his AR and brought up a keyboard on the table. He brought up his contact list and hit up the two guys he knew would at least had some info or could dig stuff up.

@Gizmo Got another request for you. I need some info on the Tolskoi District and the Evo Arcology and what the hell happened there.

@Pluto If you have any info on the Tolskoi District or the Evo Arcology in Moscow I would be greatly interested.

Miner also brought up the usual stomping grounds for runners on the matrix and scanned about for any news about the Tolskoi or the Evo Arcology in Moscow.

The journey to the Dim Sun joint is bleak and slow going as the snow begins to fall in the streets of Moscow.

When you arrive you notice that the 'restaurant' is little more than a shack with a fabric cloth porch and some seating that has been jammed into an alley between some corporate buildings. There is an old Chinese man half asleep at the counter and the tables are all empty. The old man walks over and begrudgingly takes your order, walking into the back of the shack he leaves you to your business in the dim light of the neon glow from the adjoining buildings. A few minutes later you order is delivered to you by a couple of old rusty manservant drones.

@Obidancer
The genuine commlink trace was last seen in this apartments 8 days ago.

Your sprite only manages to gather some basic info on the incident at the moment the media black out is very hard to circumvent in this case. to the point where information is corrupted almost as soon it is uploaded. It would lead you to believe that the Evo corp are really trying very hard to keep what happened there secret.

what you do manage to find out:
@Solodice
You are unable to get hold of gizmo his comm keeps advising you it's busy. Pluto sends you a message:
[Text Only]
Info on the Tolskoi district and the Evo arcology eh....

Well as you know information is my game I've got a lot of data on the subject you advised... I'm guessing your mostly interested in the incident from yesterday?
Your in luck my sources have been able to get me some choice information.

However it will cost you.
500 ¥ to be precise.

If your interest transfer the money and I'll send you the data file.

Have a good evening!

Your knowledge check tells your that the Tolskoi district has been a Vory strong hold in the city and the Evo arcology arriving in the district brought plenty of work into the shadows there. The community will be a buzz with new jobs arriving after the incident to try and take advantage of the situation that has been created.

What a good time to roll for starting nuyen  :D

Starting Nuyen: 4d6=16 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4088944/) x 100 = 1600
Miner scanned over Pluto's message.

At least he's reasonable with the price.

Miner took a quick look at his own bank account to make sure he wasn't going to bank roll himself for the info. He could see he has 1,600 nuyen left over from his last job and 500 wasn't going to break him. Thinking about finances jogged Miner's memory that he did owe Nixon 10,000 nuyen for his new toys here in Moscow. This job right now though would cover up for that though.

@Pluto You ask and you shall receive.
Thank-you very much good sir, as always a pleasure doing business with you!
Don't underestimate what little is here with the media black out getting anything this quick is a minor miracle.

So here it is

The Evo Arcology incident:
It would seem that an Evo scientist was running experiments out his flat in the arcology. I am lead to believe that the nature of these experiments is rather magical and toxic in nature. A group of 4 Eco Mages from the Siberian splinter group of "Terra First" assaulted the building to assassinate the Scientist and prevent his 'evil experiments continuing. They took quite a vicious stand on the corporation given their support to the scientist in question.

The large flash was believe to be a massive radiation pulse cause unknown.

This is suspected due to the fact that all the victims in the arcology have been irradiated to such an extreme that it burned the flesh off their bones. Their corpses are apparently still radioactive. Those form the corporate response team that survived are currently being treated for extreme radiation burns. It is unlikely any of them will survive due to dose received.
"Frag me..." Miner said to himself in a low voice as he read the data Pluto sent him.

Miner glanced around at the surrounding tables to see if anyone new was there because the data he had was only for his eyes and for his fellow runners eyes.

Miner asked for all his fellow runners commlink numbers and when he got them he sent over the data he got to Pluto to them.

"If I really knew that the good doc pulled this I would be asking for a lot more nuyen and a bio-suit." Miner said before he gulped down the rest of sake.

You know... since you really want to make our meeting here let's just don't care about listeners...

What I meant to say earlier:
I hardly know anything about toxic mages and spirits, but they usually tend to destroy the world and.... there's a general bounty on them which is one billion Nuyen.
We get payed tenthousand Nuyen each which makes fiftythousand Nuyen in total.
That means if we kill one of them and secure the bounty we get about 20 paychecks at once.
Leaves 3 big questions:
- Can we handle a mission that's worth 20 times the money we usually bargain out of a deal?
- Can we moraly justify to deliver a toxic mage back to some company instead of killing him?
- Can we pass up on those 19 paychecks.

Also, those eco mages may know something we don't and could be a well situated ally.
Title: Re: [IC] The 'Doc' will see you now!

Miner looked over to Andy, "Chill big guy. Unless you knew about some deep dark hole where nobody would of found us you should of piped up earlier." Miner leaned back in his chair and folded his arms across his chest listening to the Andy, "Those eco-mages are just a pile of radioactive bones based off what my contact had. If they had any friends they would defiantly make some worthwhile allies. I would like a billion nuyen payday but is it worth having a corp pissed at you. When you piss off a corp they don't usually just slap you on the wrist and send you on your marry way." Miner positioned himself straight up when Andy asked if they could handle such a job,"I have an Ares Alpha and a Desert Strike in the back of the Rover... all I need is some good body armor and some good partners in crime... then I'm sure as hell ready for this job."

A billion nuyen! I could find my wife in a couple of days with that kind of money... but doing it with a pissed off corp at my back is not something I want to risk.

Francois took a look at the file Miner had sent him. "So all this commotion was for the guy we're after? I hope Boris chose my partners wisely" he thought to himself.

"I'm with Miner here" said Frank. "What's a billion nuyen if you can't spend it? Besides, I'm in this for more than just the creds." He then turned his head over to Andy and answered his question. "I have no qualms whatsoever turning a toxic mage to a mega, as long as it pays. But you do raise a good point about those eco mages." He turned over to Ginji, which had remained somewhat silent since arriving at the dim-sum joint. "Maybe the kid is realising this is real-world business we're dealing with here" thought Francois. "Do you think you can find anything on those eco mages? If they were able to get inside Evo territory it means they had a support network. We could use some help with this, especially if we don't have to pay for it."

Kyo looked perplexed at Andy, shocked at how bad his math was...
Is it me or something other than Andy's math doesn't add up. The Arcology blast/assassination attempt/mage-gone-berserk thingy happened last night. And I have good sources that the balst came from the target's flat. Yet Both Evo and witness report suspect the Dr is out of the arcology... online traces of our target disappeared 8 days ago... not counting those random spoofing.
So whatever Toxic magic does may be related to our man and his research. But I reckon he wasn't directly involved in the incident.
Frank, I can certainly try to find info about those eco mages, though I suspect they are dead from the blast. And how 4 mages got inside isn't a mystery per say: it's fucking magic!
Title: Re: [IC] The 'Doc' will see you now!

"I don't know your history, kid," starts Frank, "but where I come from, arcologies are not places you can just walk in with a spell or two. These places have their own corporate mages keeping an eye on things 24/7. At the very least they had to have someone forge them some Evo IDs and someone to support them in the 'trix. Mages that I have worked with before are usually not that competent in the virtual world."

Frank takes a sip of his tea and finishes his last dumpling. "All that being said, this story does raise some questions. The most pressing question though is where do we start? I think it would help if we were able to see and talk to people where the doc was last seen."

Miner lets out a laugh when Ginji spoke, "Magic get's you only so far kid and like Frank pointed out they probably had outside help."

Miner looks over to Frank, "We could start with looking for his new place. If he chose smartly he didn't buy through the usual channels and I suspect the Vory might know a thing or two about such places. I don't like dealing with syndicates but if they got some info I'm all for fishing it out of them."

Miner looked over to Andy with a cocked head, "Based on the numbers you have given us..." Miner ran the numbers through his head, "it would come out as a 7 digit number not 10. So it would be a million not a billion."

Miner was slightly conserned about this and asked up a general question to gauge Andy's intelligence, "Hey big guy, what's the capital of the UCAS?"
Title: Re: [IC] The 'Doc' will see you now!
Post by: obidancer on <06-16-13/2122:11>
Kyo nodded before adding:  And I only count 4 of us at 10,000¥ a piece, so that's 40,000¥. time 20 would 800,000¥, not even a million... Sorry if you have a cold and we're only hearing your Ms as Bs. Anyway, that's not the point. I don't think crunching hypothetical numbers is gonna help us finding our man. We agreed on the job, let's just do it.

Frank, my only experience of Mages is what I've read or found on the Matrix. Never got to work with one. Met one once, but never witness her doing any tricks, or spells or whatever they call it.
Let's sum up what we have; correct me if I'm wrong:

The Good Dr. disappeared a week ago, his commlink signal went dead at pretty much the same time.
Witnesses and Evo suspect him out of the Arcology
The Dr. 'link was spoofed at random location in the city as if to confuse and delay any research or investigation...
A team of 4 Eco Mages entered the Arcology, supposedly to eradicate his work linked to Toxic Magic. They meet an EVO response team and the Flat is leveled with a radioactive Blast.
Are the Mages dead or still Alive we don't known; EVO does its best to block any details out to the public.
Response Team are treated for burns at the Hospital and likely to not make it. Knowing what they saw could be of help as to figuring our what happened.

There are two options for us. One is to direct our efforts outside the Arcology, the second one inside. If outside I am with Miner that with or without a link the Dr. or his acolytes if he has any must have interact with people. I can search online and try to gather info about what places have been recently rented or became active. Given enough time and cross-information we'll be able to narrow our search to a few places. And maybe some more shady deal or persons can even further narrow the list.

If we go for inside the Arcology, I'm gonna have to poke in to get access to some of the nodes, from there I should be able to steal data before they get corrupted. Maybe even spoof an access to some drones and have a look directly to zone of the blast. We have to remember EVO is our employer, they surely hide more than they would admit, but I doubt they will take it lightly if we get caught.

So what do you say?

Andy crunches some numbers into his link.
Well okay there's a bounty of a million not a billion so... divide by 4 not by five.
Makes it still worth 25 times what we get.

I'ld say be quick and check what the Arcology got, it's the most direct and quickest option.

Ok Andy is relatively stupid (Logic 1) has no clue about Moscow (no relevant street knowledge) so... after he put a little bit of distance between the others and himself he tries to find a club were presumably underage children try to get acces,
then he hides in a side ally dropping one spell, casting another one:
force 5
Spellcasting invisibility (10d6.hits(5)=5) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4095319/)
that was lucky, btw this is improved invisibility, noted it wrongly in invisible castle
drain 6
drain against 6 (10d6.hits(5)=3) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4095320/)
so 3 physical damage, now... for a quick question:
I think the regeneration power reads as such it heals drain but know it is often ruled as it does not, I dont want to argue, I just want to know if it does or not in this game
being invisible Andy waits for a teenager that looks not like a troll or ork that walks away on his own and follows him for a good opportunity to abduct him/her.

It's about 11pm when you all leave the dim sun shack. The snow is falling quite heavily and is settling on the ground as the cold autumn night is setting in. The glow of neon is now all but faded as the Neon sign go dark for the night.

94 HOURS TILL DEADLINE

@ Thrass
As your leaving the rest of the group you hear the steady methodical thrum of a bass line int eh distance. The local club is having old school drum and bass night. The area is kinda rough and you easily find an dark alley next to club to await your prey. your not waiting long before a group of 4 young elf girls come stumbling round the corner barely able to stand. as one of them loses their shoe in the snow she starts to trail behind her friends.

[ yes i agree with the interpretation that drain is able to be healed, as it is stress on the body from casting magic and not actually caused by magic- so yes your fully healed when the girls appear.]
Okay :D
step one freak her out:

Andy lifts the shoe and slowly carries it into a side alley, assuming she follows her shoe at first, if she indeed is  rather running towards her friend (with one shoe or leaving both behind) Andy will just grab her and drag her away.
(not that intelligent)

step 2 subdue her:

If she followed her shoe willingly and they arrive somewhere in a side alley or he drags her there, he will start to subdue and choke her untill she stops crying.
He will shut off her comlink (and keep it) and switch alleys again.

step 3 feed:
Then Andy starts biting of her fingers, chewing right next to her ear, starting by the pinky of the left hand, going all the way to the index finger of the left hand, then if still not finished her left ear.
(I got the claws and bite natural weapons)

All while doing his best to keep choking her when she does a noise.

I don't know how much Essence she has, but assuming she has 6 Essence this is an extended 6 (4, 1 Minute) test per point of Essence and I can drain 4 points max.
So all in all I need 16 hits.
Essence Drain #1 (6d6.hits(5)=3) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4095690/)
Essence Drain #2 (6d6.hits(5)=2) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4095691/)
got the first point after 2 minutes
Essence Drain #3 (6d6.hits(5)=2) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4095695/)
Essence Drain #4 (6d6.hits(5)=1) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4095696/)
got the second point after 4 minutes
Essence Drain #5 (6d6.hits(5)=0) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4095697/)
Essence Drain #6 (6d6.hits(5)=4) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4095698/)
got the third point after 6 minutes
Essence Drain #7 (6d6.hits(5)=1) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4095699/)
Essence Drain #8 (6d6.hits(5)=0) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4095700/)
critical glitch !
at the 8th minute of play time, if we nothing happens before then

Since this is the first time and it'll probably make a cool new experience I think I'll not downgrade with edge.

@Thrass
The drunk girl follows her now seemingly hovering shoe as it enters the alley, with her heavily inebriated state she is easily subdued, she has no link on her maybe she lost it in the club but really who cares?...  as you start to gnaw on her raw flesh she feebly attempts to break your grasp she keep squirming and wriggling but to no avail.

After several minutes of the grotesque horror you inflict on the poor girl you start to feel a little strange and then as you keep chewing in her warm flesh your throat starts to close.. you feel short of breath and rather faint..... it would seem that in your eagerness to feed you forgot to chew properly and bone has become lodged in your throat. As your senses start to fade as you slip into unconsciousness you hear the screams of your prey as she breaks free and runs for dear life.

It's not long before your regenerative abilities compensate and the bone is dislodged; however your prey has escaped and the sound of sirens in the distance are getting ominously closer.
damn, I forgot sustaining modifiers new rolls:

Ginji got dropped off the Hotel he was staying in and went straight to his room.
It was late but he had quite some work ahead of him. He changed clothes to dry the ones he was wearing and be more comfortable and sat down on the synthetic leather chair by the desk.
As soon as his eyes closed the so familiar virtual world surround his now standing silver body.

Data was his expertise, all he needed was to find the right parameters and filter down to only a few options to find the missing man or at least have an idea of where he could be hiding.
He call the Sprite he had compiled earlier to ask for his last task. He knew him and Code had what it take to pinpoint the location of the Doctor, even if much harder with a commlink trace.

Greetings Code. We are gonna deep search with Moscow sprawl, looking for a place that became active on the city grid or have seen a change of activity or ownership lately. By cross-referencing parameters that correspond to the Profile with made of the target, and your flair at deducing trail, we should manage to trim down the data to a few places only. Parameters include the date we suspect the target has moved or been moved to this location; size big enough to accommodate at least a small research lab or workshop; link between place or deal broker and the local Mafia; exclusion of high security neighborhoods; witness report of unusual activity; and more to come. Bring on the Data, I'll filter through
I'll let the Sprite gather (data search+browse) the info while Ginji will filter it down even more (data search+analyse) and hack his way into nodes when necessary (hacking+exploit).  If Hacking is necessary, Ginji's main priority is to remain unseen and not raise alarm, for anyone to know there's an active search on the subject. Not sure how you want to play it; I'll go with the table p.230 SR4A
and a Hidden or Actively Hunted and Erased (24)
Sprite Data Search+Browse
First 5 minutes: 12d6.hits(5)=1, 12d6.hits(5)=5, 12d6.hits(5)=3, 12d6.hits(5)=3, 12d6.hits(5)=2 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4096132/) 14hits
Next 5 minutes: 12d6.hits(5)=2, 12d6.hits(5)=5, 12d6.hits(5)=2, 12d6.hits(5)=8, 12d6.hits(5)=3 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4096133/) 20hits!

Ginji Data Search+Analyse to filter the data with the Doc's information profile
14d6.hits(5)=3, 14d6.hits(5)=4, 14d6.hits(5)=6, 14d6.hits(5)=8, 14d6.hits(5)=6 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4096134/) 27 Hits.

That should clarify potential whereabouts! A well spent 15min! Let me know if you need some hacking in the pack.

@ Solodice & Hydroraven
The closest location from the list provided to you by Kyo is an abandoned warehouse about 15 minutes drive away on the edge of the industrial sector.

As you arrive at the location the snow starts to ease. on the corner of the street there is group of local gang thugs huddled round an oil drum fire. the dim light casts theirs shadows clear across the now snow covered street.

The warehouse is old and decaying with broken glass windows. the walls are covered in Ivy and the grounds are overgrown. One corner of the structure has collapsed due to lack of repair and the rusty iron roof has shattered under its own weight where the building has failed beneath it.

As the step out of the vehicle the snow crunches beneath your feet and the crisp air gives you no quarter.

The thugs leave you be they are too cold to care or even notice your presence for now.

Following the exact location of the comm signature leads you to the derelict corner and inside the structure.

The interior is just as dilapidated as the you'd expect and the floor is littered with ruble and failed structural components their is large section of gangway that has fallen and is hanging precariously from the rusty roof. their are some out dismantled trucks and empty crate scattered around and dispersed in the now rusted over machinery of old.

A clear set of track in the ruble lead you to the rear of the warehouse where it looks like a small temporary structure still stands on top of stilts that overlooks the warehouse floor and obviously used to be an office of some kind.
@ Obidancer
The good doctor has only logged onto public accounts as far as you and the code sprite can tell, so no more hacking required.

Between your collaborative efforts you can establish that the doctors movements before the spoof feeds has  definite pattern and following the trail leads you to see that the last place the comm signature  was found is a small garage on the edge of the city.  The spoofed signals started appearing randomly round the city 2 days prior to Docs last traced comm signal and they started after his comm was located in apartment 23b, Junction House XX4 678.

Unfortunately the lack of data from there on it make it impossible to trace anything further than what you have already.
Frank gets out of the car, buttoning his coat up to face the weather. He turns to Miner and tells him "Thanks for the ride, l'ami, you can go home and rest if you want. But of course I'd rather have you around" before venturing deeper into the structure, careful not to attract too much attention. He follows the track and at the sight of the office, Frank stops and has a look around, telling Miner to be mindful of his environment.

Miner looked over his shoulder at the thugs on the corner and back to Frank, "I wouldn't want them getting a piece of your French ass tonight."

He got out of the Rover making sure the Anti-Theft system was active and walked along with Frank. Even though it was bitter cold Miner kept his jacket un-zipped so he could have easy access to his Colt 2066.

Better safe then sorry.

Miner notices the tracks just like Frank did and walked along with him to the office.

He looked over to Frank when he told him to watch his environment, "I'm not new at this Frank."

Kyo spent some time on the small balcony of the room. The sun and chill morning air felt good, and refreshing compared to the heavy snowing of the day before. The whole city, all snow covered, reflected the brightness of the sun. The day was new and even though the lead Kyo had manage to get on the Doc was thin and uncertain, he was looking forward to meeting his new teammates and get on with the job. The 10,000¥ they were promised would sit very well on his bank account and maybe he would soon be able to legally buy that bike he wanted. SUre he could certainly get any vehicle he wanted in a matter of seconds, but owning his own, bought with hard earned money, was still very special.

The news he was channeling to his AR vision were a bit disturbing, but he came to Moscow knowing some weird shit were happening there. And here it was. What was strange for him was he had the feeling he could probably find that murderer much more easily than the 'Good Doctor'. Anyway. Breakfast. Checked. Shower. Checked. Gun loaded. Checked. Time for work.

Miner didn't sleep long or really needed to as 5 to 4 hours as that was enough for this ex-special operator. Breakfast was nothing more then a bowl of ceral, a cup of soycaf, and some vitamins.

After breakfast Miner go prepped and ready for the day. He went into his room and opened up the safe in his closest. He grabbed the two cans of foam explosives, two electric detonators, and the electric exploder. He then retrieved his Governmnet 2066, the smartstaff, and the pack scent masking smokes from his night stand. Next then grabbed all his protective gear from his jacket to the PPP stuff that sat nicely underneath. He decided to change the winter camo of his jacket to a just a matte black since it stopped snowing.

Miner lit up a scent masking smoke to conceal he was transporting around explosives from his apartment to his Rover. When he got to the Rover he pulled out all the explosives and accessories for them and stashed them in the smuggling compartment of the Rover. The Desert Strike and Alpha were still in there as well. Miner then set off for Gregor's Subs.

As you all start to arrive Gregor's subs is packed with the morning rush and the attendant can barely keep up with the stream of business men wanting their soycaff and breakfast sub... the only other people staying and using a table are an old couple sitting the corner watching he world go by outside.

Kyo just stood for a while waiting for a table to free up. Once he got a spot for him and his teammates, he waited for everyone to show up, and once everyone was there started with small talk.
Heard about that attack last night? Seems like Moscow got a new monster problem. Maybe it will distract the police away from the shadows for a bit. .

Now back to our job, I've got an address. It has the highest probability of the Doc being there, but I can't guarantee anything, even less that he's still there. I say if we are to check it out we don't waste tie doing so before the trail goes cold. Did you guys find anything last night?

Miner was the third guy to show up at Gregor's Subs.

The young gun and the big guy beat me here... I must be getting old.

Miner took the seat directly across from Ginji and the smell of the sent masking smoke was still lingering on Miner, "Ya, saw that on the news. A monster distracting the poe poe, ha! They're just going to send some expendable runner to do the task like always."

Maybe I should look into doing some critter hunting after I'm done with job.

"Good to see we have an address," Miner said as he scratched his arm, "What we found last night? Devil rats having midnight snacks, cold gangers, and a Dwarf that seems to know Frank... I'll let Frank fill you in on that."

Francois arrived last at Gregor's Subs. He was used to being last and having everything ready for his signal so he didn't think much of it. Before sitting down he ordered a morning sub, just to get his engine going for the day. He listened to Ginji and asked the group "You guys don't think that monster attack could have anything to do with our man, do you?"

He soon followed Miner in saying "Yeah, we went to the location and I met an acquaintance of mine on site, of all things. We didn't find anything there, but we might have a lead on more info. I have to meet my fixer at 10:00 for more details on the doctor. Where is this address you picked up, Ginji?"

Moscow is a big sprawl, there's more than one crazy dude, I'm sure. So no, I don't think the events are linked. But I do hope that guy get caught; attacking young girls like this is just disgusting.
The address is apartment 23b, Junction House XX4 678. Can't you have a virtual meeting with your guy, Frank, so that we can be on our way already?

Miner blew some air out of noise, "Not everyone lives in AR Ginji. Some prefer a meeting in flesh as it's more... intimate so to say."

Miner got up at of his chair, "Since you all neglected to provide your own transportation for your time in Moscow I'm in charge of where we go and when we go and I say we go to Franks little meeting and then to the place you found Ginji."

Not as much as I wanted.
I just tried to follow patterns and extrapolate origins and destinations, which lead me to a small garage on the outskirt of the city. The spoofed signals started appearing randomly round the city 2 days prior to Docs last traced comm signal and they started after his comm was located in apartment 23b, Junction House XX4 678.

I wish I could do more, but the information is just not there, believe me. It may be a cold trail but that's the hottest we got so far.

We could split up, we just need to organize a ride.
Or I could send a spirit to the place to check it out.
Or I could check it out on the Astral on my own, but depending on what I find there I might blow our one chance, if he is there and I scare him away.

Split up they said. It would be fun they said.

Miner grumbled to himself with the thought of splitting up but was the only option they could take to cover ground better.

"Alright, I'll go with Frank here to his meeting while Andy and Ginji here go check out the place Ginji found." Miner then looked at Andy and Ginji, "We'll meet up with you two later alright and I hope you don't mind riding the bus as you never know who's going to be riding with you."

Before Miner takes off out the door he looks back to Andy and Frank, "You two need call signs so I'm not blurting out names over my com. Think of them quickly."

"Frank works" said Francois. "It's not my real name anyways, so it should be fine. So Miner and I will go meet my guy and we'll meet you at the apartment afterwards, alright? I think it's better if you wait for us before knocking down doors and busting heads though." The elf got up, finished his breakfast sub and followed miner out of Gregor's Subs.

The sun beats down on you all as you leave Gregors subs to your various destinations. The sun bouncing and shining off the fresh snowfall of the night before.  The streets are nearly empty now as the mass of wage slaves go on blissfully ignorant of the world that surrounds them in this normal working day.
The meets with Alexei is about a 15 minute drive away which will give you plenty of time to get there and settle in.

Wow this guy really isn't paying any attention today i guess given his appalling roll.
His checks pull up nothing untoward and you both pass through without incident.

As you proceed through this neighborhood you are struck by the amount of plant life still in bloom lining the streets as you drive, the pristine archaic brickwork proudly on show, a welcome change from all the plascrete that makes up the bulk of the hell hole that is this city.

Police walk the street and response times are pretty good, so you'd better be on your best behavior or you may end in more shit than you would like to be.

The Rover seem to fit in seamlessly as you park up outside the coffee shop. There are 2 other in the bays out front in fact.  you can see a waitress clearing one the outside tables. there are a dozen or so people occupying the shop which is quite busy for the time of day. As you step out of the car you hit by smell emanating from the place and you start to understand why some radicals tried to brand coffee as a narcotic. This place is obviously serving the real thing as only the best will do in this part of town.

Alexi turns up a few minutes late, he heads straight over to where you are sitting nodding the the barrister as he goes.
Hey Frankie my boy, sorry i'm late and for being so rude last night....
He turns to miner an d extends his hand in the traditional European manner for a handshake..
we haven't met my name is Alexei Borvska, local fixer. you can speak freely here they know me and I can assure you our talk will be private. So who  might you be? and how do you know my boy here?  The barrista arrives with three freshly made espressos. He leave the tray on the table and the freshly made biscotti are beautiful and crunchy, they leave a sweep sensation in your mouth that just lingers on and compliments the espresso perfectly. A note is left on the tray it simply says "ready". When Alexei has finished his coffee he leaves you over to a private booth near the back of shop with real leather sofas and a walnut finished table the red plush velvet curtain release behind you to offer you some more privacy.

Alexei Speaks up again
So I promised you answers what questions have you got for me?
François makes himself comfortable in the leather seat. This was where he belonged, he thought. The real coffee, leather, the biscotti. It was all meant for him, and he enjoyed meeting with Alexei. The man knew how to treat people.

"I have to admit I wasn't expecting to see you yesterday mon ami" said Frank. "But then again, nothing surprises me anymore in Moscow.

"The most obvious question is where is the doc? But I'm sure you don't have that info, so let me ask you another one instead: why? Why is the doc doing whatever he's doing? And who's helping him?"

Miner was pleased with himself when they rolled in the A rated neighborhood. The Rover that Nixon had fixed him up was working beautifully and in this part of town him and Frank wouldn't stick out like shore thumbs.

Miner shuffled the tooth pick, that he just picked up just minutes before, in his mouth when Alexei introduced himself, "You can call me Miner Fox or Miner if you prefer," Miner then grabbed Alexei's hand giving him his tight military grip, "I know Franky boy here as we were stuck in a room together last night."

Miner enjoyed the real coffee but thought it could of had some extra kick like with some alcohol... Miner was do for his morning drink.

Miner was highly impressed by the commodities in the back room and when he took at seat on the real leather he couldn't help but run his hand over it a couple of times.

Miner looked up at Alexei when he spoke, "Before I get to any real question do they happen to serve alcohol here? I know the rich types like to add some added kick to there morning refreshments like me."

Right then that's a lot of questions.... I'll do my best to answer them all.

Where is 'The Doc' , simple answer is I don't know; the more useful answer is i don't know exactly, he has been doing some work up north on the ice sheet about the arctic circle some ship wrecked up there and he seems to be interested in it. he took his truck out from the garage a few days ago so he's probably up there.

Why is 'The Doc' doing what he's doing? he believes that the man has it in for him as his research has taken him down a line the company didn't want to see... he's a raid they are going to kill him or something, so he's decided to bug out of the city and take his work with him. Given the goons he had following him i'm not surprised at his paranoia.

Who's helping him... Well me for one... and a few choice friends of mine. He approached me a long time back when he started to suspect this sort of thing might happen and i helped him set up a plan to get out of the city should the need arise... you the sort of thing drop box with ID's etc... flak screen vehicles etc... I thought that's why you were there yesterday as that's was the drop site for the ID. i was there to make sure the trace was gone.

I heard in the rumors that the job was on didn't know you had got it mind....

Whilst talking he notes miner request for alcohol and carefully lifts an ornately engraved silver hip flask form his coat pocket. and offers it to you both. as it cracks open you can clearly smell the wonderfully peaty smell of an old highland single malt  whisky.

"Whisky, don't mind if I do" says Frank when Alexei opens the bottle. He then takes a big sigh, sips his drink and says "Alexei my friend, looks like we're on opposite sides of the fence here. The only reason I'm telling you this is because I don't want this run affecting our future work together. Let me ask you a few more questions before this ends: who were the mages we heard about in the arcology and how are they connected to the doc?"

Can you organize a ride?
I don't mind either a taxi or a "lent" car, tinted windows would be very nice though sunlight's always giving me trouble and this particular day... worse then usual.
And if you could maybe get some imagery of the place before we get there to plan ahead.

Great! I'm with the fat guy!
Kyo felt like back in school when he would be paired up with the not-so-cool kid. Though on paper 'Andy' had all the reasons to be an exciting pair up, Kyo had to admit he wasn't impressed yet. The big guy was suspicious trying to hide his identity and well... truth had to be said... he kind of smelled. Kyo had read a bit about magicians and of course watched a lot of trids about them. The most powerful could throw fireballs, lift up cars with  only their minds, read your thoughts and invoke super powerful entities. So far all he knew of Andy was that he could apply a decent nanopaste disguise, and eat goulash like a starving family of 6. The guy had mentioned being able to call on spirits, was he speaking the truth?

On the other end, after all the mention of experiments and toxic magic, he'd rather stand not too far from the team's mage.

The mention of 'Elite' by Andy brought him back  from his thoughts and motivated him to show off his skills.

Yeah, I'm sure I can take care of transportation. The garage is at the edge of the city, I'm not sure there will be cameras on every street corner, but as we get closer I'll be able to send drone to do some scouting.

He sat down again, comfortably, grabbed his commlink - again to fake his non-Technomancer identity - put on his glasses, and along his gloves and his trode-equipped beanie, he looked like your average, run-down-the-mill wanna be hacker. Reality was different. Out of his mind, AR like images appeared in his sights and along with them buzz and feelings. With a though he was calling on the matrix and connect with the city's node to obtain a detailed map of the Moscow sprawl. He zoomed on his actual location, pinpoint the closest car rental service and moved on to their matrix node.
Once he found what he wanted he closed his eyes and entered Virtual Reality.  His goal was simple. Hack in their system, log a rental car reservation ready for pick up, with fees taken cared of already, for a week. With the possibility of snow storm, he went for a 4 wheel-drive, with tinted windows and all options included.

I've died and gone to heaven, Miner thought as he held out his coffee cup for some whiskey. Whiskey was a favorite of Miner's from his time in the UCAS military.

Now Miner got to the serious questions after taking a sip from his cup, "Now Alexei are we going to have any problems with you because of this run? It would be a shame if I had to make a mess of this nice room."

Miner took another sip of his coffee with whiskey but he kept his eyes on Alexei to see how he would respond.

And here we are! proclaimed Kyo as the rented car arrived. Sure they could have relied on public transportation be having their own mean of transportation was much more efficient to go from point A to point B, even more than the place was on the outskirt of the city.

Alright Big guy. Let's get going.  He got in the vehicle, subscribed to it and got a feel for all the options and sensors the car was offering. He then proceed to drive to the address he had managed to collect in the Matrix.

OOC: I think the idea is to stop a block or two away from the place, then Kyo will jump in his Flying Eye Microdrone to scout the place first using the Ultraband Radar Sensor. Maybe Andy could Astrally project too to get a feel of the Magic around.

Andy got in the car after Ginji, and first thing he does is adjusting the window tinting, then when Ginji dosn't do so Andy accesses the cars map software and accesses the route to the target location.

I have a "skin condition" which is part of my sunlight problem and part of why I don't show my face.
If we manage to build a trust base maybe I'll show you some day.

With these words Andy puts on his mask and puts up the hood, then he drops the spell.
Andy begins to shift and twitch as his body transforms, 2 seconds later everything is over
and if nothing else gives it away his voice definitely sounds like Ork now instead
of the human voice Ginji new from Andy.

Ahhh... that's better... no sunlight, natural form.
Now down to buisness.

性交何! (what the fuck?)
Kyo almost veered in the wrong lane when he witnessed Andy's transformation. The gain in size, the claws, some white fur appearing from the sleeves.
He couldn't see the freak's face but he wasn't sure he wanted to.

A quick mental command put the BMW in auto-pilot, giving Kyo a chance to gather his nerves. That Mage freaked the hell out of him.

What the fuck are you, Furīku?
Kyo wasn't feeling comfortable in the closed confinement of the car. Nowhere to run. No space to maneuver. He could try to grab his gun but those claws would rip him apart in no time.
He didn't know what was next to him but was torn inside. To many, Kyo was a freak, he's been hunted because of his innate abilities with the Matrix and the Resonance. Judged without knowing. He was freaked out but couldn't allow himself to judge his so-called teammate before knowing more about him, after all he was himself hiding his own abilities from his new colleagues. Maybe he was just an ugly ass Troll who was ashame of his face, maybe a meta-variant Kyo hadn't read about, or a young Sasquash cybered up to have gain voice capability? The fact was, Kyo just didn't know.

He tried to keep his composure, put both hands on the steering wheel, and took a deep breath.

Ok, wasn't easy but I managed to call upon a spirit who is willing to help us, either get in and out unnoticed or by creating a diversion or fighting.
I can make one of us invisible and make the spirit make him even less noticeable then he could infiltrate this place probably rather easily.
But I'm listening to your ideas aswell.

As the team rejoined, Kyo sent a quick text to Frank and Miner: Don't freak out. The thing next to me IS Andy.

Listening carefully to the exchange of conversation, Kyo knew he could help gather some Intel before heading physically inside the building and past the goons.

Let's simply have a look inside first, shall we? My Flying Eye drone has been equipped with a state of the art nanotech Ultra-wide band radar.
He grabbed a matchbox-sized case from his jacket and inside laid his micro drone, a tiny 25mm piece of electronics components. He let it take off.

The Radar allows it to pretty much see through wall. I'll be able to confirm in a second if anyone is inside.

Ginji switched to VR on the comfort of the car seat. From there he remote controlled the drone to fly high, nearby the building, monitoring the drone's sensors and UWB Radar and sending the imaging back to his colleague's commlinks.

As the flying drone makes its way into the building noticed the interior is just just as disheveled as the exterior, this place clearly hasn't seen anything lie maintenance in years....

The drone make it way round the halls and stair and passes several groups of people congregating tin the halls. on the floor that the apartment your here to investigate there is a large group of people at the end of the hall and they are all openly carrying weapons ranging from shotguns to AK's.

The ultra-wide band radar picks up the usual activity you would expect in a housing block but when it gets to the target floor the apartment down the hall from the target appears to have some sort of lab equipment in side and has numerous people working. In the target apartment a small studio flat really. you can see a meta human slumped over some equipment on a desk.

As the drone makes its way around on patrol there starts to be a small commotion from upstairs and a group of gangers come running up the stairs.

Miner looked over to Andy, "I hope you brought some firepower."

Better to be safe then sorry.

Miner then made his way to the back of the Rover popping it open. He removed the nice lined material of the back and ran his hand across the metal surface until he found what he was looking for. He turned a bolt and a lid popped open. Miner retrieved his Ares Alpha from the back with a loaded mag of EX-Explosive rounds. He closed the lid and replaced the liner. He kept the Ares Alpha in the back though as waving it about would just draw attention.

Miner pecked around the side of the Rover,  "What are the guys up front doing Frank?"

Just like the good ol' days, Miner thought as Andy let loose with the LMG.

Miner knew going through the front was just a quick way to die and he didn't plan on dying today. The sides of the apartment building would serve as a better approach vector.

Miner looked over to Frank and motioned from him to go to the far side of the building away from where Andy was engaging the gangers.

Miner watched as Frank crossed the street when Andy spotted someone on the roof and Miner's first action was to fire into the smoke cloud. He wasn't aiming to kill but aiming to scare.

He tapped his middle finger across the Alpha's grip to tell the smartgun system to change to semi-auto for a better shot.

OOC: I was hoping to see the feed from the drone in the corridor before making decision, but that can wait I guess.

Let's see if this will cool things down a bit. Ginji, using the building's feed, tried to isolate where the fire was and sent all the building's resources to go fight it. That meant first turning on the sprinklers if there was any, and two sending domestic drones if any available.
He shut down any alarm and if any was sent send a false alarm message, hoping to delay the authorities a few more minutes.

As you turn on the sprinkler system nothing seems to happen. The dials all indicate the system has become active but none of the apartment feeds agree. As you look closely the water levels in the supply tank are showing steady and no usage. Something very odd is happening with this none.

The 'in screen' view from the drone shows you nothing in particular, the gangers are busy protecting the lab on the target floor and taking action to move the stocks out of the way.
Sprinklers resistance firewall and system (6)
6d6.hits(5)=1 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4151110/)
As the machine sprite interfaces with the building the response wells and pools and suddenly the sprinklers inside the building burst into life bringing much needed help to the fire fighting efforts.

Your analysis of the node shows you another user in there that you couldn't see before. it also brings up a new gateway that was previously hidden. this gateway looks shiny and new and very out of place given the look of the rest of the node.

The new persona appears as faint mirage of swirling smoke that bends and warps in the resonance of the node, as you look closely a face shimmers across the smoky surfaces and disappears just as quickly.

The other icon is running a stealth program and does indeed have admin access.

"I'm guessing you've never seen a guy turned into chunky salsa before by a LMG Frank," Miner said as he kept his Alpha trained on the windows.

Miner noticed Frank holstered his weapon before Miner was about to enter the building, "Franky boy I suggest you keep that thing out as there's probably more inside."

Miner then enters through a side door.
Window, side door, whatever gets him into the building.
He enters into a torrential down pour of water and flips up the hood of his jacket to keep the majority of the water out.

Miner calls out to Ginji before he moves on, "What's everything look like on the inside?"

While he was doing so he spoke to Frank, "If they are in CQB just pray and spray... you're bound to catch someone and with this sprinkler system it's probably our best bet.

He then opened the com to Ginji, "Give me a view of the hall just outside the room."

As you move down the hall the commotion at the end proceeds unaware as you reach the door you are looking for you can confirm what the drone saw earlier.

The door has been knocked clean off its hinges and has splintered over the floor.

As you peer into the room through the spray of the sprinklers you can clearly see the room has been tossed and the furniture has has been shattered and broken into pieces there has obviously been a big fight here. You can see a feint shadow being cast across the debris from just out of sight of the door way, a distinct red pool gathering and spreading across the floor and the sprinkler system thins the pool out.

As you slowly enter the room you can see a body slumped at the only piece of unbroken furniture. The man laid prostrate across the desk in the midst of all his old-school computer equipment, the TFT monitors still on. the pools of what is now clearly his blood has been streaming out of his eyes, nose, ears and mouth.

Miner crept his way through the hall right behind Frank keeping his Alpha trained on the combatants down the hall but he held his fire.

He let Frank check out the room but Miner was also curious, 'What you got in there Frank?"

Miner then remembered that it just wasn't him and Frank this time, "Everybody give me a sit rep."

Miner moved his way into the room and took a knee at the door using the frame as cover and kept his Alpha scanning the hall. He would let Frank look over the room while Miner covered him.

"Wonderful. You said magic... internal or external damage?" Miner had worked with enough mages in his spec ops days to know what kind of damage they could do.

Miner then raked his brain trying to think of ways to identifying the stiff on the spot. He couldn't come up with anything but he did have another idea.

Miner pulled out his smartstaff from his jacket and selected it's sword shape, "Break the middle joint of his index finger and then cut it off at the same spot. You can use this."

Miner slide the sword across the floor over Frank, "Just in case we can't identify him on the spot."

I hope he's not squeamish about cutting off limbs.

His Magic is quite strong, so I didn't want an open fight, but used a trick on him, he's taking me with him, so I need you to trace me.

Either I can get some valuable information from him or I guess we'll battle it out in which case I could seriously need your assistance.
The fact that he's fled the scene means you should get lost too!

Knew it...

Miner just grumbles to himself as he got up and walked over to the stiff and picked up his sword.

"It's not a souvenir," Miner said as he broke the stiffs index finger at the middle joint.

Miner then noticed the damage the stiff took seemed to internal from all the blood coming out of his nose, ears, eyes, and mouth.

"It's a piece of identification encase Ginji can't come up with anything from just a picture." Miner grumbled as he swiftly clipped off the index finger and shoved it into his pocket.

Miner then returned to the door listening to Ginji and Andy's reports.

Miner couldn't help but laugh at himself when Ginji came back.

I must remember these guys aren't all from the military.

"Sit rep is short hand for a situation report, Ginji." Miner then looked over to the stiff slumped over his computer gear when Ginji talked about someone being jacked in, "Unless you mind fucked someone before the shooting started I don't see anyone jacked in that's alive."

Miner kept himself calm when he responded to Andy, "We have a stiff on our end here in the computer room. It seems he died from internal damage. It was either magic or he mind was fried by someone from the matrix. Keep giving me reports of you and your new friend on a minute to minute bases. Stay safe Nature."

Miner looked back to Frank, "Pack it up Frenchie. We need to get the hell out of here."

Miner didn't want Andy to be all alone with the biker. He had not feelings for the big guy but working one man short was what Miner didn't want.

Ginji took a moment when the figure disappeared.
May you find peace in the Resonance

He switched back to AR, keeping in sight an ARO of his drone's vision and another one where he was collecting the images he was receiving from his companion. He got out of the car, resting both elbows on the opened driver-side door. The glare from the snow outside was reduced by his glasses as he looked anxiously at the building. He recalled his drone and sent a quick message to his companion on the secured channel his Sprite had opened.
Andy gives all the info he has to the team.
OK I lost him in the end, but apparently that guy knows a pretty big deal including that we will meet again.

Ginji are the infos I sent enough to find anything on the matrix?

Where do we meet up? I could need a ride once all of you are out of there.

Upon his discovery, Frank gets up, drops one of his cards and starts heading back towards where they came from. He tells Miner "No 'link, he was plugged in at the skull" and makes his way back to the entrance.

Miner frowns at the discovery.

Miner ignores the two at the end of the hall and heads out with Frank.

Kyo cursed upon hearing Andy had lost the other man.
You were on his bike with a machine gun, and he lost you! WTF!

I see Frank and Miner are coming down. Stay put I'm coming to pick you up.

He drove in front of the building to intercept his two other companions. The sight of the dead ganger disgusted him but he refrained from saying anything.  He opened the window and told Miner and Frank:

I'll go get the big guy. Follow me and we'll gather at the corner of...  Valivalev and Putin Street. It's about a mile after. All I got is that the Doc must have left town and there's no way he took or went through any public transportation. So he got smuggled out by accomplices. Let's talk more about it when we gather. For now let's go, authorities or whatever else they pretend to be will be here very shortly.

No, as I sent you we stopped, so he could switch to his car where he left me, I tried magic on him, but he resisted, he is very strong willed.
I tried to slip a sensor on his car, as I sent you aswell, but don't know if he noticed and got rid of it.
Also I sent you pictures of everything including the license plate, so that you might have a chance to trace him via the matrix.
Were you ignoring my feed, or why do you even need to ask?

Andy changes back into his human form.

And waits to be picked up. Once in the car he will take of the mask again.

Relax Big Guy, I got your attachments. Was just giving you a ribbing. You don't have to justify yourself.

Note for self: Deformed Magician - very susceptible.

Kyo kept driving to Andy's location, hoping Miner and Frank would have been following so they could all gather before deciding of the next course of action.

Kyo arrived where Andy was patiently waiting for him. The place was quiet with low traffic, lucky for Andy and his big ass machine gun. At least he looked pretty human now. Kyo was curious to find out what the man was. That experience in the car kind of got stuck in his mind and, well yes, freaked him out. That 'Andy' guy was more than just an eccentric. Those big hairy and clawed hands were nothing human, nor metahuman really.
None of his other two teammates had say anything about him. Where they trusting him good enough to not ask question? where they oblivious to the weirdness of it all?

Kyo's mind was running but it was taking him away to figuring out what was going on with the Good Doctor. Who was that mysterious hacker? how about the magical guy Andy followed?

He knew he was gonna have a busy and painful afternoon trying to pull of of that together.

He stopped the car in front of Andy, opened the passenger door: C'mon in Big Guy!

Meanwhile Andy released the spirit from it's task.

As Andy got in first thing he did was check that the windows were set to tinted to block that sunlight.
Ok go.
Then he checked his machinegun and packed it into the sportsbag.

After a couple of metres Andy felt that awkward silence and tried to break it.

This City sure could use some more plants and wildlife...
I'm not much of a City person, too much people, far to little plants and animals.
Are you a City person?

When Ginji left, Frank asked Miner "Do you know where that is? I'm not too familiar with that part of town, so you're at the helm for this one." As soon as Miner leaves the scene, Frank will follow him, trying to match his pace.

"Eh... I'll see if I can get some directions from the matrix." Miner said as he made his way out of the building and made a dead sprint for the Rover.

Miner quickly popped the back open and shoved the alpha into the smuggler compartment.

When Miner hopped in and started the Rover he looked over to Frank, "You don't happen to know a forger by any chance do ya."

Miner then tapped his jacket pocket where the stiffs finger was, "Cause this sucker can be ID'd by one of them or at least I hope they can do it."

The weapon spec then put the petal to the metal and sped off from the scene and tried to catch up with Ginji and Andy.

"I might know a guy that knows a guy" answers Frank before messaging his fixer. "Alexei, you wouldn't know any forgers by any chance? I need a print identified."

I'm ok with more plants but I don't know about wildlife! Seems like more trouble than none. I doubt you'll find any computer geeks that will tell you they are not 'City People'. So yeah, you can say that.

Mind you, I enjoy time in the Park, as long as there's some Matrix connection provided. I guess that's the beauty of our wireless world, it actually open doors to a more 'green' world if you think of it. Paradoxical but nonetheless reachable.

You all arrive as the corner of Valivalev and Putin street about after a few minutes...  there is grimy looking liquor store on the corner and traffic is sparse apart from the parked cars in the street. the architecture is very 20th century with lots of heavy concrete and cheap render.  windows are boarded and there is graffiti everywhere.

As the group finally gathered back together, it was time to make a decision as to where to go now. Time was ticking and their lead was meager to sat the least.
I will look if I can find anything about the two intruders in the Matrix, but it will take me some time. Our only concrete lead right now is that the Doc is outside of the City. I haven't found any indication of his presence at any time in any major transportation hub, whether railway, or buses. However he left the City, he was smuggled out, and by good smugglers apparently, they didn't really leave a trace. So we can go out and try to find clues of his new whereabout on the way, or find out who smuggled him out and have them tell us where they put him.

What do you think? any idea?

Well outside the City ... is a huge area... I don't know if you ever been out there, but I'ld need a little bit more specific to start any searching at all...
If we can narrow it down to a couple of square kilometers I could try summon a watcher that will search for him.

"Your guess is as good as mine" says Frank. He then turns to Ginji and asks him "Can you find what the guy was looking at in the Matrix before we interrupted him? That might give us a clue."

Miner grumbled to himself as Frank gave him the news as they rolled up to the sidewalk where Andy and Ginji were standing.

Miner rounded up with the rest as they went over the plan, "Starting with the hacker doesn't sound like a bad idea and might give us a idea on where our lovely Doc has disappeared. I might have someone that could help you out Ginji."

Miner brought up his contacts and sent Ginji Gizmo's info, "He's a professional and can be trusted."

Miner then turned his attention to the dislodged limb in his jacket pocket and started looking for the closest trash can.
