Hi,

the electronic accessories section on p. 267/268 says the following:
Code: [Select]
Unless otherwise noted, these accessories are
compatible with commlinks, cyberdecks, and (with
GM permission) other electronic devices. All peripheral
accessories are wireless, and unless slaved
properly, offer a sneaky ingress into a user’s PAN. Commlinks
can have a maximum number of “slaves”
equal to their Data Processing. All other accessories
are “open” connections and can be exploited.

I don't understand that rule:
  • What does "sneaky ingress" mean? User/Admin access?
  • How should a device/accessoriy that is NOT slaved to a PAN give access/ingress to that PAN?
  • Does that rule also assume that other equipment (e. g. smartgun systems, glasses, contacts, etc.) give such "sneaky ingress"? If no, why not?

Would be glad about help! Thanks in advance!

Not sure who wrote that but it contradicts whatcivpit in the matrix section.

Access is only to a network (PAN or Host) and can only be gained by hacking the network directly or any device slaved to it.

Hacking ANY device that is not part of a network ONLY gets you access to that single device.
