Yael is all for pushing it forward - inside she desires the danger, and she'll trust the more experienced runners. 

Flatline is now an NPC - so the fact that he spent karma to contribute the disguise of this operation is of less interpersonal significance.  I would not just send a PC to study a spell and then proceed without it, I think it may cause bad feelings.

So are we going with the 'date' on the spot with less percussions?  (Seizing the opportunity that Zola does not know what eve look like or (if he is the assensing type) what her aura looks like? I think it is a reasonable decision.

@Jack: Just to clear out misunderstandings before I do something silly (again) because I have a misconception about the infrastructure:
Is she using an agent who removes and creates the file encryption of the phone log and calendar everytime she uses it, or how exactly does it work? The file cannot be changed (or read) by any means as long as it's protected. Since she'll use the calendar and log function, I assume that she will be used to regular alarms, but I don't want to count on that as long as I'm not sure we understood the line "A protected file cannot be read, changed, deleted, or copied until the protection is broken" the same way. Until now, I comprehended it that way that there is no exception: If there would be something like an authentication, I could access the file via having a mark on it. File protection, as I understood it, is for files that are kept safe, and not in regular use. If someone accesses it, the owner will get a notification.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Your understanding of rules is usually better than mine.

My understanding is that as the owner of a file you can always access it with your four ownership MARKs without removing the protection. Otherwise you'd never be able to open your files again without the crack file action for which you need a deck or a dongle.

And you can't have your files unprotected on your commlink since otherwise everyone could access them as soon as they see your commlink on the matrix since reading an unprotected file does not require a MARK.

The rules are written from the perspective of the illegal hacker, not the everyday user.
Just another of the many problems of the matrix rules.

Whew, that's why I asked

but this also means, that literally everyone can create a protection that is impossible to break without being noticed; no matter how much of a noob you are, no matter how awesome the decker is. That sucks a bit, but I agree that it makes the most sense (basing on the somewhat shitty rules in this regard).

Yeah, but as compensation I rule that files don't alert the system if they are under attack - they just log the attack which you can remove once you are done with your edit file action.
